After using DaVinci Resolve for about a year, it’s hard to imagine switching to any other video editing software. The platform offers a seamless workflow, and its powerful features make it a standout choice for both beginners and professionals. One of the most impressive aspects is the Fusion page, where the real magic begins. Fusion opens up limitless possibilities for creating stunning visual effects and motion graphics. Whether it's compositing, keying, or advanced 3D work, Fusion provides an incredibly versatile toolkit that transforms creative ideas into reality. It's truly the heart of Resolve's magic, making the software an indispensable part of any editor's workflow.
As a DaVinci Resolve user, even though I am not a huge professional, I feel professional every time I see someone who is a professional in montage, editing and After Effects like TomsProject talking about the difficulty of the program😁🤩, great video by the way😁🔥
I see a lot of comments that people switch off Davinci because of nodes, like what do you mean its same as layers.. just stack them vertically and there you go layers ... But yeah its nice to see Big AE Creator try out Davinci, Tom if you need any help with Fusion hit me up, happy to help anytime :D
4:50 if you've never used a node based program it might feel like the most complex thing in the world but IMO any node based program is miles easier and more intuitive than any layer based program since all node based programs work the same so you'd only have to learn one and they all work by using a very simple fundamental concept, whether you are doing something super simple or complex. Take your time with Fusion, because once you learn a node based software, you wouldn't be able to even use Photoshop lol.
Yeah good point. I do see how it can be nice to work with since you can cluster things together and make it organized. What I just hate is that for basic things you need to take extra steps. Like the 3D camera, motion blur, depth of field, track mattes, keyframes.
@@TomsProject the whole philosophy of nodes is that when you're doing simple basic things, it would require more steps and time but when things get complex and big, then it's gonna be much easier, faster and have more control as most of the time professionals aren't just making simple basic things all the time as most pro vfx tools are node based like Fusion, Nuke, Houdini, Mari etc. And if you are doing simple basic things, you can just reuse the same node groups by saving them as a template or just copying and pasting the same nodes across different projects, and you can also save a bunch of nodes together as a macro and reuse them as well to save time. Things like motion blur can be enabled in any transform/merge node in the settings tab, DOF is under the render 3d node, you can keyframe anything and see those key frames under the spline or keyframe tab and Fusion doesn't have the concept of track matte since you can use anything as a matte at any time.
Let's go! I love the way Tom edits but personally can't get After Effects, so I in turn use Davinci. Do you think you could recreate some of your other animations in Resolve?
Hey Tom I Love your video editors competition edition Would like to watch more and more But i have one question which software would you recommend me which should have all the ingredients to become a pro video editor and note i have basic knowledge of video editing but know I am buying a laptop and becoming a video editor for myself and will provide services as freelancer
really you are good at everything but why you shoot your videos on the angle it make you to be weared and uderconfident after all this is my perspective you may consider it : )
Also FUSION and Color page took so much out of me I can't tell you. Sometimes I am confused (Till date), on how to achieve certain effect. Should I do it from Color page or use fusion. It has happened so many times that I have used Color page to realise that, the effect or vfx has to be done from Fusion page and vice versa😂. After 2 years, I can say I understand most of the basics(That you already know) and if I am stuck, I just need a tutorial from youtube.

I completely see what you mean with that!
I've switched from DaVinci to After Effects because of NODES-freakin' NODES. And now Tom might release a DaVinci tutorial next year 🥲
Hahahaha well I think I’m not going to go to much into depth with fusion since the stress alone will subtract some years from my life
cry more 🤡
@@TomsProject and perhaps add some grey hair

Bro I had a question that where do you find out the assets from?

Funny you say Fusion was hard to learn it because I watch your tutorials of After Effects and they work on Fusion 80% of the times!
That’s wild!

05:39 this was the moment i realized you have a really tight space for work and still you shoot banger videos here. you are awesome man 😎
Hahaha yeah my home office is tiny.

I can try but man oh man. I just feel with everything that fusion is not made for certain things. Like creating stuff just takes 4 extra steps
Hiii please Make a davnsi resolve tutorial videos and beginners to advanced ❤❤
Will do soon

Hey' tom i love your vedios but i request you please make a tutorial on how to be creative as a vedio editor please bro 😶
Noted!
i switch from DaVinci to ae just cuz of the FREAKING NODES DUDE
Hahahahaha
After learning PR, AE from pros now they're talking about Davinci, don't like nodes itz like $php
Great job, maybe in the future you can give us Da Vinci tutorials, but please don't leave After Effect hahaha
Hahahah great idea! And no I won’t!
Make a video how to learn After effects in 7 days
That is actually a great idea
@TomsProject yes please make it ❤️
Tom making Davinci content in 2025 would be 'ideal'
Hahahah maybe I will! That being said, I love after effects, premiere and blender
I feel like After Effects is much more user friendly and easy than DaVinci. And I don't think DaVinci supports anything like GeoLayers :)
I agree 100%
Finally
❤️
How did ityou edit this video?😂
Using premiere, after effects and blender
As a video editor you really did bad.
But my first 7 days of Davinci, I just learned how to cut, import and export 😂. So that way kudos.
Also FUSION and Color page took so much out of me I can't tell you. Sometimes I am confused (Till date), on how to achieve certain effect. Should I do it from Color page or use fusion.

Great output in 7 Days you did a great job 👏 hope to make videos in fusion that you master in after effects 😅
Maybe!

Second!
And yeah Adobe better 😂❤
I agree 😏
