Just bought a pair after watching this video. I freaking love ultra boosts. To me they are the most comfortable running shoes I’ve ever worn and they take the pressure off my knees. I’m in the military and we run a lot so I definitely had to get a pair of these. I have the 18s, 19s and 20s already.
@@rakfav____ dont worry man, i feel ya, i know exactly what you're talking about. It just makes you wanna take a bite out of all that soft, squooshiness!
Honestly they've just been going crazy with the models after 4.0 I feel like the og ultraboost/hypebeast style just needs it's own new line without the "ultraboost" name
I expect Pharrell to take the lead on the premium hypebeast adidas line, since we’ve been getting the premium basics and wayyyy more Pharrell models lately
I've been a Ultraboost user for some years now (since the 18th iteration) and average around 120 km monthly. I can say that the Ultraboost is a very comfortable sneaker, especially if, like me, you have achilles tendon problems. The amount of heel support is great, and helps to reduce pain after a long run (>10k). I've used Asics, Nike and Under Armour sneakers before and the Ultraboost is undoubtedly (in my opinion) the best for this particular situation. Another advantage, and probably exclusive to Adidas, is that their shoes look great and you can use them as your daily sneakers. I have to pairs of 20's, one for running and another for daily use (which will eventually replace the running pair), and they both look great! I look forward to test this new model and see if it lives up to its legacy!
I feel like instead of the “more boost” approach with every refresh, Adidas needs to focus on stability and structural integrity so it takes longer for the boost to bottom out.
How does the boost bottom out? It just a thick slab of foam, so it'll always be comfortable. Its just you probably getting too uae to the shoes, because even when I switch out to a bew pair of UBs, the difference in comfort isn't that significant.
@@gilbertoflores7397 as the owner of several UBs, I have definitely noticed a change in how the boost feels after repeated use. A pair that I regularly workout in are still comfortable but nowhere near as close as responsive as some newer ones ive worn far less often in comparison.
@@nocreaselucas8810 the difference shouldn't be significant, as I have many pairs too, and really don't notice the a significant difference, its still soft even after lots of wears. And if you're doing anything other than running in the UB, you should definitely stop working out in UBs for weights, it's recommended to use less cushioning for working out. The instability will lead you to get hurt.
@@gilbertoflores7397 hahah i am well aware of which shoes to use when working out! I use UBs to run and a couple other (more stable, less springy) shoes to lift. If you read above, my comment was not saying that UBs lose their comfort, but more that they stop being as responsive. The amount of energy return is notably decreased and they stop feeling the same.
Compared to the other cushion systems, boost barely and rarely bottoms out. Plus increasing number of boost pellets in the 21 will make the cushion more firm and stable.
This is definitely definitely my most favorite ultraboost pair , I love the mix up of that older ultra boost plus the one from 2020 and its more focused on performance and looks better aesthetically
I got these a few days ago for work as I tried these and last year's regular ultraboosts in store and these seemed a little more comfortable and supportive. They have a nice bounce when you walk and as someone who works in retail for 6 to 7 hours a day- they're super comfortable.
Actually that fact that the heel sits in the midsole, is doing a lot. At least in all Hoka models it provides a lot of stability. Hence, even people who are mild over-pronators can run in those shoes. Everything that help to keep ankle in the right position, is doing something. It's not a gimmick.
Just walked around downtown Vegas for a little test walk...gotta say I think they more comfy than the 20 or 19. The heel is much wider friendly and the way it cups ur heel is nice. I did have to insert some insoles, but for my flat wide feet these are seriously surprisingly good!
Its looks fast, it looks speedy, it also weighs a ton. Boost was and will always be heavy. Adidas would do good if they reformulate the boost material to make it lighter and bouncier. Something what saucony did with their everrun and now powerrun + midsole. Both are TPU based like boost but the difference in performance is mind boggling.
Gonna have to disagree on the statements on the aesthetic being full on running. Lot of the upper details seem to harken back to the original ultraboost line. The TPU cage was taken off for weight, and the heel counter was an outline only for the same reason. They brought all of that back on this. Def looks more lifestyle than the 19 and 20 for me. The only "performance" seems to come from the shape of the midsole
I’m actually glad it does deceive u with the boost because u wouldn’t wanna be elevated 1”1/2 off the ground and wouldn’t wanna feel like your wearing dress shoes 👞.
Exactly. Im struggling to understand what this dude wants.... labels it as most comfortable he ever tried.. most functional. But immediately critiques it for not having boost directly underneath. But more on the side. This guy wants his center heal on inches of more boost that's invisible? Moron.

Adidas realized that they are catering to two different types of people. Those who wear casually/ everyday/ hypebeast's, and the people who buy running shoes for what they were intended for. Thus, this new line of 'UBXX' is born. They started with what they thought would be the most important and performance focused silhouette that we all learned to come and love, the OG. As time went on and its popularity went out into the masses, they started coming out with more of this OG style. They realized that it is truly the best of both worlds, and that caters to those who wear this sneaker for the occasional run and most importantly CASUALLY. Then you have the 19, 20, and now 21 which seem to be their redesigned Flagship version, and are bringing back the origins and purpose of the UB story by progressing in time with what they originally planned to do. It is a RUNNING sneaker, which is why they have changed them so much, redesigning and improving each sneaker as time progresses. As everything isn't just about look of the knit pattern or a line going through the boost, or even how much boost is in each shoe, this new model is the greatest example of exactly what adidas is and should be doing for the future of the "UBXX". As good as the OG is, their path for this new branch of the UB is what I think a good direction for the model and the company. The UB21 is definitely a MAJOR upgrade from the 20, as the 19 to 20 upgrade felt a little lack luster. As the heel of the boost is FINALLY rounded for the roll of the foot, and the new torsion system being actually performance driven providing real benefits than the previous. I think this might be the best iteration of the UB thus far, given all of these improvements on this shoe. (Plus for parley) I think people get lost in the sauce when talking about shoes, and get caught up in the whole "colorway" or "knit pattern" drama. In my eyes, they are leaving most of that drama with the OG as it is the staple of the company and hypebeasts. The 'OG-UB' could be comparable to the '350 V2' but for Original Adidas (yes I know its the same company but its technically YZY, but you get what I'm saying. Lol) Anyways, good review as always. Can't wait to see what's in store for the future.
I like that the boost actually isn’t as high as it seems. I think your foot would stick out too much and look weird if it was sitting on that much boost. It also looks so clean sort of in the middle, and the cupping part seems comfortable. Gonna try in store then hopefully cop!
