I learnt this anthem only a couple weeks ago, I live in Norfolk, perhaps as far from Wales you can get (in the UK) and never in my life have I heard such a great anthem in my life. Maybe, just maybe it’s a sign to change the anthem of England to Jerusalem, an actual patriotic song and not one asking god to save our queen about 5 times
Best anthem in the world, by far .... From a belgian.
It's not just the melody, it's the meaning behind the words. The last line means 'oh may the old language live on'- which is a reference to the language suppression from England. Welsh nearly died out, but there's been a recent revival.
Gotta love the passion of Alan Wyn Jones and Ken Owens there.
And George North
English man here but oh my god
Passion to the core
Back when we were actually good ffs. Wales misses you Warren!
Never beat the bokke. Go Pivac
I'm dyed-in-the-fleece Welsh, so I start to sob three seconds from the start.
It has to be the best anthem. And I’m Italian.
Does prince William really speak Welsh or he just memorized the anthem?
Whichever way, all credit to him.
I'm Welsh but cannot speak Welsh but can sing the anthem
Knowing he'd become the prince of Wales, he's probably taken Welsh lessons
from my understanding as part of their responsibility of being Prince of Wales they are expected to learn welsh, that being said who knows how well he actually speaks it as I doubt he uses it much in day to day life.
Dw i'n caru'r chwaraewyr Cymreig. Mae'r gwrol rhyfelwyr mawr, CALED, cryf hynny yn fy nghael i ganu cock-a-doodle-doo drwy'r nos.
Emocionante!
