If a picture is worth a thousand words, I hope these sales, our sales, show you how simple things can sell for great profit! We invite you to leave a comment and if you haven’t done, so, please subscribe! Vickie & Mark ~ Avante Avenue
Finally found someone who is as interested in vintage glassware as me. I’ve been collecting for years but need help identifying some. I can’t wait to learn more.
Thank you and welcome to the channel Jennifer!
Same!
Some surprises about how much $$ some of these items go for! Another great video :) Janett
Thank you Janett! It's surprising to me too. Research, price it, allow for offers, occasional sales and the right buyer to come along....
I would love more videos like this! Enjoyed watching it so much! More! More!
Thank you Pamela and please check out my "playlists" for MORE pack and ship videos, including ones for specific categories. I sometimes cross list them under "what sold" as well. Hope that helps!
Great video! It’s wonderful to see what sells in each category ♥️
Thank you Clarissa! Glad you liked this format!
Thanks you very much all glassware wonderful I think you're there online thrifter love it
You are welcome Mary! Glad you enjoyed!
I love your videos. BTW, the blue rose bowl was actually a Viking piece, it was missing the flower frog.
Thank you so much for the Viking info LaDonna! We just listed vases today that are New Martinsville, a.k.a. Viking (we're not completely sure of the year made). Thanks!
Great video! Really liked that you used price ranges for showing your sales. Made it so easy to follow! You had some really great sales!
Thank you Cara! Glad you liked my price categories!
Loved seeing all your wonderful finds of when and then that they sold! Woo hoo 👍👏🤜🤛👏👍 Thanks for all your hard work to make these videos Vickie too!
Thank you Anita! I appreciate your appreciation!

Thank you Tam! Glad you enjoyed!
Love all your videos. You and Mark do an excellent job ❤
Thank you Fran! Appreciate it!
Good morning. I like everything about this video… the quick pace, showing the listing itself as well as where/what condition you found each item and the cost. And I know how much work it must be to go back and find the old footage for each item and piece it all together so thank you and mark for your hard work!
Thank you! OMGosh, all my videos take so much time. Thank you for recognizing it. I do my best to be very organized with my video footage. Thanks!
You are always spot on with your videos! Your Playlist is very helpful too!
Thank you!
Really liked this video. A picture is worth 1000 words and this type of video can really help when I go out and try to identify something. Thank you as always for all your efforts in putting this together. It was great!
That's great Jan! Thank you! I was hoping the "pictures" would be memorable so that when you see it in the wild, you know to pay attention to it!
That was fun ! Thanks
Thank you Kachelle! Glad you enjoyed!
Thanks for sharing this video. I have lots of glassware that I’ve sold and many more pieces that I need to list. This motivates me to get to work!

Another winner! Love it! I also must have a turntable like yours that you showed the Blenko decanter on! Where did you get that?!
Thank you Jody! I'll try to find the link and add it to my Affiliate links in the description below the video. Thanks!
This was so much fun to watch! Just moved to a town with SOOO MUCH beautiful vintage glass at rock bottom prices (I’ve found some in dumpsters they have so much in the thrift shops) so I’ve been buying beautiful pieces whenever I can. Just don’t know what everything is or how to price it. This was so helpful. Please make more! And swing on through our town if your stock ever gets low 😄 (looks like you’re town is pretty phenomenal too however 😜)
Take care 💖
Love that you had fun watching! How far is your town from Kingsport, TN? Lucky you to find so many pieces! I have LOTS of videos, organized by playlists. Where do you live? Thanks!
Love all your videos.
Thank you Betty!
So excited to see another great video.
Thank you Shawntel!
Wow! Lots of great glass sales. I was shocked at the red votive holder sales prices. Looking forward to the next videos!
Thank you! As to votive holders, red or other, inspect for scratches. If scratched, their flash. We do our best to avoid "flashed" on color.
Love the video! Thanks!
Thank you Marilyn!
Woo hoo! Great finds and sales! Glassware is my weakness especially vintage. Would really love to see Mark's set-up and process on photographing... hint hint 😊 you're absolutely right on less light. I have a ring light and its reflection shows up in my pictures 😖 still learning so much from you guys!
Thank you Judi! I've always been drawn to glassware too! I know, Mark is so busy but I'll try again and see if we can lock him down to do a few clips and tips on his photographing skills. I don't like ring lights. Thanks!
your inventory is fantastic,,
Thank you Thomas!
Great video!!!!!!! Thank you so much!
Thank you Roxie! Good to see a comment....I've missed you!
@@AvanteAvenue Aww. Thank you. I have been watching all the videos - just have not commented. But I heard somewhere it helps the YouTubber to comment. So I'm going to try to remember to do that. But this one I remembered because it truly was a great video! Thank you for all the information you provide us. Especially the packing! It is so helpful how you go ahead and show us right then how you pack a (sometimes difficult) item you just sold.
Loved it! Thanks.
Thank you!
Love this video and would love to see more.
Thank you Laura! Yes, to more categories!
I guess glass does sell. I’ve stayed away from it but I love vintage glass.
Great video!
Thank you Renee!
Love this video. Would love to see more!
Thank you Lanna! Yes, to more categories!
Love it!!!
Thank you Jessica!
Super interesting! Thanks for putting this one out there.
Thank you Carol! Glad you enjoyed!
I like the specific categories, I learn a lot
Wonderful! Another one coming out tomorrow. Thank you, Julia!
Depression Glassware , my first love. Great seeing what glass items you sold. Funny how the MCM items I looked down on once upon a time are now fetching higher prices than the older things. Jadeite as kept its value and that beautiful Batter bowl was a great fins Great video.
Thank you Pat! Did you see my video on the Anchor Hocking Fire King Jade-ite bowls? th-cam.com/video/Dd90yQJHDaQ/w-d-xo.html
@@AvanteAvenue No I did not! Thanks for the link, I will do so as soon as I get the chance.
Great video! So helpful for what to purchase and for what price! More categories, please!
Thank you Julie! Yes, to more categories!
I LOVE this video!!!! This might be one of my favorites. I have some similar items that I now need to list! I need to watch how you wrapped these things! Thank you. ❤
Thank you Linda! Yes, please do check out my pack and ship playlist!
Liked the format a lot. I sell a lot of breakables but have learned a lot from you on mid century glass. . Your glass photography is stunning. I struggle with my lighting. I get glare or reflection. PhotoRoom is a huge help on most things but on some glass it makes it look cloudy. Do you have any videos on how you take your pictures?
I’d love to see how she gets such great photos too! Reflective pieces do present a challenge. I believe the real trick is a light box because you have to control outside light from my research. I haven’t bought one yet.
@@Rlk-l9x Sadly, I have a light box but still have problems with glass.
Thank you Ann! Less light is often better. Turn off the ceiling lights. Use lights only on the glass item itself. We process our photos through a background removal app and change to bright white or black. Often, black for glassware. No video yet on glassware. Thanks!
We don't use a lightbox. Just black or white poster board with lights facing the item at various angles. I think I showed our photo area in this video: th-cam.com/video/dXLU7OThZSo/w-d-xo.html
@@annhittner1909 oh darn. I thought that was the trick 😕
I most definitely did enjoy this video. It came at a perfect time for me as I have been trying to increase my knowledge on certain categories of glass, such as Jade-ite, Hazel Atlas, Fire King, and Pyrex. Your dear husband always amazes me with how well he photographs glassware -- not always an easy task. In my research I did learn that using the keyword 'ware' is important with certain listings as collectors search with that keyword.
Thank you Lynn! We are always learning too. Yes, Mark does a great job. Less light is often better. Turn off the ceiling lights. Use lights only on the glass item itself. We process our photos through a background removal app and change to bright white or black. Often, black for glassware. No video yet on glassware. Thanks!
Thanks so much Vicky for all the information & your knowledge! I’m a new EBay seller & I’ve learned sooooo much from you! You are my favorite go to girl when I need help as to how to ship something. I wish in the future, if I have time, if you can do a video on how to identify glassware , etc. I struggle with that! Thanks again for all you do to help us out!
Thank you Kim and welcome to reselling! Thank you for your kind words! I don't have a specific video on identifying glassware but we use Google lens, google images, ebay active and sold comps. I look at the piece and take note of the details (shape, rim, footed, rim, anything unique). Some items are listed without just the details, no brand. Hope that helps.
I loved the video as usual! You guys sourced great items. Question: I see glass votives occasionally but do not see any markings on them. Are the home interiors brand marked?
Thank you Annette! Home Interiors votives are not marked. There are other brands. the main thing is make sure they are not "flash" but colored glass. Look for scratches and avoid those.
i learned alot. Thank You!
Thank you!
Thank you so much for these very informative videos. I have a request. I am wondering if instead of playing the music you could say what sold and the price? I like to listen to your videos while I’m listing and I miss so much content because I can not be sitting and watching the entire time. This is how I digest most of my TH-cam content, listening not necessarily watching the entire thing. Thanks so much and keep creating great content!
I do say the prices in many videos (when we pull to pack to ship). I appreciate your suggestion. Please know that voiceover adds much more time to editing my videos. I've tried podcast style but they just haven't gone over very well.
Great way to learn about glassware- unless I missed it I would like to know how long it took the item to sell? That would be helpful- glassware seems to be slow for me unless it is a rare item such as Jadeite which I can sell quick but it is hard to find. Thanks
Misty, we are in it for the "long haul." Some glassware sells with a few months and other pieces within a year or so. ebay only keeps our sales for 90 days, so I truly don't remember exactly how long it took for these to sell. They are assorted sales from the past year. Thanks!
I enjoyed this video. You sure know your glass and aren't afraid of it! My only complaint, and it's a personal one only, I can't stand that music! LOL Drives me up a wall with the repeating techno beat or whatever it's called. I put it on mute with closed caption but then the words got in the way of some of the pricing. Poor me! The Niche Lady does that at the end, too, and I have to mute it as well or that piece of music won't leave my head for a couple of days! (I do like the music you normally have as you drive the countryside) Thanks for the effort!
Thank you Lynne! Sorry the music is hard on your ears. I can't imagine videos without music and I tried a new mix for this one. Imagine editing the videos I make for hours on end. I sometimes hear the music when I'm trying to go to sleep LOL. Other than turning down the volume, I'm sorry but I have no solution. The music must go on. Thanks for your input!
😃👍
Thank you!
I wondered how long these took to sell and if you lowered pricing, sales, etc. Does glasswear and jewelry sell slower during recessions? 😊
We are long term sellers. We list it and end and sell similar occasionally. We are in it for the long haul and have sufficient storage. I can't advise on items selling in a recession. When we had the crash in 2008-2009, I didn't sell the same things I sell today. The economy today? Been slowing down for a while. I can't predict what is going to happen to reselling. Thanks!
HI subscribed😊 i want to start selling, i have a huge collection of glass, crystal from my mom plus alot of qvc clothes brand new some still with tags, i like your video's. I have figure out which platform to start ebay?
We sell glassware and clothing on both ebay and Poshmark. Ebay brings more sales. Welcome to reselling and thank you!
How do you identify the patterns? I use Google lens and try online research but sometimes I come up against a wall. I want to be sure I am listing properly.
There are some great books out there that help identify the patterns. I checked out several from my library, though all the Pyrex books were checked out. My Google lens was not finding everything, and the internet also does not always give you the information you need.
Google lens, google images, ebay active and sold comps. I look at the piece and take note of the details (shape, rim, footed, rim, anything unique). Some items are listed without just the details, no brand. Hope that helps. Thank you Gayle!
I do have a lot of glassware books but nearly always go to google lens , google image, etc before my books. Thanks Lynn!
What’s the largest item you mailed? I have a 4 qt I dread shipping when it sells
A tall apothecary lidded jar and a long wood desk drawer organizer.
Why don’t you show the SOLD listings instead of what looks like your listing photos?
I always show my “sold” price. I take screenshots from my phone and that’s what they look like. 👍
@@AvanteAvenue that’s odd. I also use the mobile app. The Sold items show the date the item sold in green font plus the sold price also in green font unless the item sold at an offer less that the Buy It Now list price. Then, the price is crossed through also in green font.
Interesting. I never see it, as you’re describing. Nonetheless, if I say it sold and I show a photo with the price, it sold at that price. Thanks!
Great video !
Thank you Carolyn!
Great video. Thanks!😊
Thank you Ruby!
