Cheaper to buy a cheaper laptop with 3 or 4 cheaper tablets with a good resolution screen running android or even windows 10.
what is the point? To be the "coolest hipster" at Starbucks? I was merely implying I can build a better 3-screened PC for the same price, probably not portable but more practical. Also worth noting, you won't be able to do this with the new mac book. And this technology has already been done! With a cheaper laptop and cheaper tablets, and a better OS (like Windows).

I literally just set this up this morning, ordered it the other day. One thing with Duet is lag can come up with some of the stock animations like opening dock folders and minimizing, you can turn this off with a little terminal magic and now everything works great!

Ninetou they're slow and restrictive, and everything they'd want to target would be windows / unix .. thus they probably would be using linux / windows dual boot.

From what it seems like. You can also put your iphone up there also. So you can have you Ipad, Mac, and iphone screen to work on. Almost anyone and everyone I know who has a macbook has an Iphone and Ipad. So... This seems like a great idea.
It's more for people who wasted their money on an iPad (or iPads) and a Macbook that need to buy some accessory to alleviate their buyer's remorse.

I bought an iPad Pro just to have a portable external monitor for more screen realestate when programming, rocking it for a couple months now and love the realestate and portability.
I use AirDisplay with my iPad. They upgraded the app so it can work over the lightning cable instead of wifi. That completely cuts out the lag.

That's really awesome! I occasionally use Duet with my iPad Pro when I edit with Final Cut so I can keep track of all my source files. It's pretty good but it's definitely not seamless. There is some lag no matter what you do (even if it's a tiny amount), and Duet causes some minor graphical glitches throughout the rest of the operating system. But your video going over this cool setup idea was awesome! Keep up your amazing work! You're my inspiration! :)

I absolutely love my mountie, I use mine for my iPhone 7plus and MacBook Pro. I actually use mine as separate devices but either way I highly recommend it for power users.

Get the slidnjoy. It is a MacBook case that connects to the MacBook lid. It runs off 1 USB port and has 2 extra displays. This is then a cheaper alternative to 2 iPads, the Duet display software($15 approx) and 2 lightning cables. The slidenjoy is in preorder and currently costs far cheaper than having 2 iPads
