Not really as many still go to the malls. I still do and miss the good old days. I hope that the net and technology does not push malls to extinction, but I doubt it as many still want to go to malls. Going on the net and staying home all the time can get boring.
Oh, man. Auntie Anne's or Wetzel's are the only food court options I almost can never pass on or have never grown out of! Their plain pretzels are my favourite at both!

Cinnabon on the worst list...really?!? Cinnabon is HEAVEN!!! As a matter of fact, going to Aunt Annie's or Wetzel's Pretzel's in a mall that also has a Cinnabon is immoral!

Nah. I've never liked Cinnabon. I really miss TJ Cinnamons. They were much better.
There is a definite pretzel bias
I have been off that drug called cinnabon for a long time but when I moved here to where I am at now I seen Auntie Anne's then I seen Cinnabon across the hall and I was addicted again!!!
this makes me sad, the food court at the mall where i grew up used to have a Chick-Fil-A, Taco Bell, Blimpie, Sbarro, Gorin’s Cafe, a milkshake/smoothie place, great Chinese food.. now there’s only 3 places left in there, Flames Grille(which has the best burgers ever), a cheesesteak place, and a hibachi sushi place
the pretzels are gone, the cinnabon is gone, and the orange julius is gone 😢

No way Cinnabon got the "worst" label. Bad nutritionally blah blah blah. And y'all didnt even show the good ones. Those were thee basic ones that looked like the store bought joints.
I will forever defend those sweet, tasty mounds of sugary goodness with extra frosting. And yes, moderation is key. I'll absolutely agree with that.
I wouldn't mind one right now. Cinnabon. Cinnamonster. Whichever.

How dare you, I want an Orange Julius and a Julius Burger. And a deluxe slice from Sbarro. And Au Bon Pain was my favorite place 🥰 Especially the one near the Art Institute of Chicago.
I once went to a mall with a standalone orange Julius location. I got a classic orange Julius, and an order of nachos to go with it. It was awesome! Both were fantastic!
Mashed did want to cause any drama. But, per my 12yr old (he's a self-proclaimed soft pretzel connoisseur), Wetzel's Pretzels > Auntie Anne's by a very narrow margin!
If I was looking for healthy foods I would not go to a food court. Cinnabon never claimed to be healthy so saying it is the worst because of it not being healthy is just wrong. The whole point is if it is tasty and meets all the promises made. If a food says it's healthy and isn't then it is a problem. But I don't know anyone who will see a Cinnabon and not know that they will have sugar and calories galore.
I totally forgot about Au Bon Pan!!! They use to be the Panera back in my early 20s😋. Didn't know they still exist!!!!
Sarku is pretty much the only chain I eat at when at the mall! Still great after all these years!
I am guessing that any company that paid them for them for endorsement got a "Best" tag, and those that didn't got a "Worst" designation.

About Cinnabon where I live: 1) Don't go there often but the cinnamon rolls are good, 2) They need to RELOCATE IMMEDIATELY out of the mall because they are in an empty wing that draws NO TRAFFIC. The mall in my area is dying, anyway....
I happen to like Sbarro; in many parts of the country they are likely the only place to find a reasonably authentic slice of N.Y. style pizza. (And I'm a native-born New Yorker.) I liked their Lasagna, but it seems to have disappeared from the menu, and the Baked Ziti is only fair. Unfortunately most of the local outlets have been replaced by Villa Italian Kitchen, which I find inferior.
I sometimes used to eat at sbarros when I went to the mall .

Jamba Juice is so excellent and so delicious. I always get the razzmatazz. It is so awesome.
Sarku sucks, the one and only time I went everything was greasy and the sushi tasted like it was left out all day. Then again you did list Cinnabon as one of the worst so you obviously don’t know what you’re talking about.

Aka/ Orange Julis is linked to starting at Dairy Queen and, after they got it up and going in malls as it’s own business, it’s like DQ abandon its own brand, which doesn’t really make any sense!

If malls are on the decline, where does that leave food courts. Will we see standalone food courts one day? Honestly, that would be kind of cool.
That being said, why did Charlie’s cheesesteaks not get a mention? I see them in food courts here in at least two mall locations.

I'm sorry but, Chinese food is not that good at the malls, its inauthentic and inedible.
I’ve eaten all these restaurants over the years. There’s nothing wrong with it. It’s mall food…what do you expect. My favorite is Wetzel Pretzel and Orange Julius. The most popular is Panda Express. There’s always a line, but it moves fast. My favorite is the sweet and sour chicken.
