Hisense 55" TV, red standby light flashes but no picture. Model 55H6E television repair.

  • This is a Hisense 55 inch 4k television, model 55h6e that starts with a solid red standby light at the bottom of the TV. When you press the power the red light starts flashing as though the television is going to power on. But instead after a few quick flashes the standby light turns back to solid red.
    In most cases this symptom could be caused by a bad mainboard or Power Supply because the Tv is actually shutting down and not staying on. However who would think this would be caused by a bad back light?
    We are going to troubleshoot this television, determine its a back light problem and replace the single led thats causing this symptom. Thus repairing this 55h6e model Hisense led smart television.

    Thanks so much! My neighbor threw out this exact same tv. I took it home and plugged it in. Does the same problem. This was the only video that broke it down and diagnosed the problem. Thanks a lot. We got us a new TV!

    Great video brother! I love fixing things myself. I feel a man should be able to do his own work, whether that’s electronics or automotive, I do my own, unless it’s something crazy that I dont have the tools for, ie pulling the cab off my rig. I have a Hisense 55H6080E, which is as far as I can tell, the same major parts as this one. It’s time for a new tv, but I’ll fix this one and sell it or keep for the shop wall 👌🏻thanks again

      I purchased a hisense from Walmart, only lasted one month it went completely black and was never able to turn back on. I returned it and switched to a Vizio television. I may say much better, why would a new TV 📺 not work and it’s like hisense knows about this problem yet haven’t correct it.

    What if my red light doesn't flash 6 times like you said. Mine only stays solid red and blinks once whenever I try to turn it on with the remote/the button on the tv and it just stays solid red until I attempt to turn it on once again. I'm unsure as to what may be the problem( ive already tried unplugging for 15 min, holding down power button for some time, etc...... but to no avail). Or is it completely dead to where it's unusable

    Thank you for this video. I just got a great deal on this exact TV, yeah right...black screen, no picture. So much for a great deal. But, being the fix-it-yourself kind of guy, I found you. I'm willing to bet I have the exact kind of problem as this tv. I really appreciate your help walking me through the disassembly steps. I have all of the tools but no LED-specific meter/checker. I do have a bench power supply and a good digital multimeter. Can I just use like 24v dc to check the LED strips? I see yours were 27v, is that typical? I have a 0-60v bench power supply so I can set it to any voltage or current. I'll check out your store for an LED tester but I don't do this kind of repair that often so not sure if it's worth the investment in a dedicated tool for testing LED TVs although since all TVs are now LED, I'm sure it will come up again in the future. Anyway, thanks for the inspiration, you are the "Man".

    • @bigdog8882
      @bigdog8882  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sure you can use a Variable Power Supply too. Just keep the current less than .5 amps.

    • @vernonbosshard9317
      @vernonbosshard9317 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The back light circuit is a constant current driver, on the one I just checked with my BL tester, the whole set (36 lights) was 101 volts at 136mA, each 4 light strip was 11.5 V at 156mA. When the voltage required goes down the TV knows there is a problem.

I shined a flashlight on the screen and I can see in the middle of the screen HISENSE and nothing else, no sound either. I tested the power out on the led connector on the power board and with it plugged in I get 176 volts on my multimeter then the voltage drops. does the voltage got to start out over 200 volts like in the video or is the power board fine and I just have to replace the LEDS? Trying to figure out all these kinds of tape they use and have some rolls on hand. I think you are nuts doing only LED, you know the rest are not far behind, if I pull a TV apart its getting all new lights. On some strips it will be labeled A and K, Anode and Cathode, Anode is positive. Cathode negative. I noticed some of the big LED street lights turning blue now, its a big problem.

    Was watching the tube and went downstairs quickly for a drink and came back up to a blank screen with audio.. I tried unplugging for about 60+ seconds then turning it back on only to get the Hisense logo briefly fade out and a blank screen every time. I ordered myself a new Hisense 50H7C T-Con Board & Ribbon Cables 188192.
    My Hisense 50H7C is a little different and my LED black/red wires may have been red/white but I tested a few different wires coming off the board and they all seem to be Okay.... I'm hoping it's just the Timing "T-Con" Control board which looks like I can replace in only a few minutes... as for replacing the LED strips & bulbs... crossing my fingers!

    So on my 75 inch the standby light just blinks continuously. Would that be a power board problem or the main board

      Unfortunately you would have to troubleshoot that problem to be sure.

    Superb work bigdog! Props for having a camera that lasts 6 minutes between charges and still maintaining a very descriptive and comprehensive video. I enjoyed the entire video, normally I would skip through to key points yet you and your camera seemed to have done a pretty good job at staying on point, and love the added humor, my man ; hahaha.
    Thanks for taking your time to share your knowledge. You are a patient man waiting for that battery to charge!
    Take care , thumbs and sub for you my friend!

      @danieloliver254 ปีที่แล้ว

      nvm i found the spot to pop the bezzels. got to my led lights. no lights pop on with tester only 1 strip responds when i use tester for a brief second only. they all light up and then wont cut back on. and only that strip triggers all strips for half a second.

    BigDog good video, I have a Sharp LC-58Q7370U it standby light blinks 2 times and keeps cycling. I checked the Standby voltage its 2.93V is that good ? I also checked the voltage on the LED strip it has 2 leads black and red... when I use voltage meter and test it.. it goes upto 223V and then keeps dropping to about 150V and does that in a repeated cycle just like the blinking lights... does this mean one of the LED strips are bad or is it the power supply ? does my standby voltage need to be 3.3v or 5v perhaps ? I have the my PS board is HLL-4465WK or Hisense 242444. hope to hear from you... thanks.

      Check the DC voltage on the LED return line. If its close to 0 when TV cycles on then U got a bad led strip(s).

    • @grilledchickenwrap
      @grilledchickenwrap 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@bigdog8882 do you mean the voltage of the LED output on the power supply which is red and black wires. ? When powering on unit ? What if it starts at 220v and drops to 160v only ? And keeps cycling like that ?

      @@bigdog8882 I got a led tester and when I tested the led wires it shorted out. Just like what happen to your tester in the video… so it’s safe to say LED is bad. Time to order me a led strip and try this replacement out .. will keep you posted!! Thanks!!

    My Hisense comes on for a minute or so and then goes off sometimes or dark blue screen sometimes staying on. When it does go off which is usually the case I get the flashing and then solid red light.
