- The game Gray Zone Warfare has been the name in everyone's mouth lately as the next contender to kill Escape from Tarkov or at the very least the next big name on the list of games like Escape from Tarkov. i feel like it will fail, the thing with tarkov is they have the best of everything, they where 1st so they can have the coolest systems, i feel like the whole coma thing is just a cheap gimic, it litterally looks like far cry but with tarkov things attached

Sounds a lot like a dayz type game to me with tarkovs quest mechanics. Could be interesting but im not sold yet.
The Cycle Frontier did the whole persistent server thing really well. Ive always wanted something like this in tarkov.
Yeah! The only bad thing about that mechanic was the possibility to get a cheater mid raid but that's is a total different topic... that feature was really cool

EFT's og trailer illustrates the direction GZW is going. There are at least three factions in both games only one of them is putting emphasis on factions and player agency within all factions. The other is just constructing a concept for others to follow or mimic. Yeah, Scavs are a faction.
People need to accept that Its not a Tarkov Killer, GZW is a Survival Sandbox Extraction PMC Simulator. Even Riloe said its not a Tarkov killer because theyre too different. But im excited for this though because its developed by MFG

Heard some snizzle nizzle on this dizzle in the past, and it intrigued me then...and now I'm halfway through this video hearing the dev explain this game...now I'm not just intrigued...I'm Hard.

I'm interested. I really hope they figure out a way where you can group up with other solo players and share a communication frequency or something with then, not only VOIP.
I think ppl need to get the Tarkov killer thing out of the conversation. The game has enough differences to make that irrelevant and I’m shocked that all the PVP mouth foamers have so much criticism to send. The game looks and sounds great! Super excited

Seems like it could be a good rival for dayz more then tarkov. Build a base, loot and pve and then once and a while get into epic pvp fights, huge wrap arounds and long range shooting. This could be epic! and lets all remember it's not even out yet, let alone after a few years of feedback and additions. Stay positive people !
Yep only comparison is the extraction shooter but lots of people instantly called it a tarkov killer I'm trying to correct that.
Also it has a full physical infil/exfil by little bird to your FOB without loadings and no timed raids. Not a loading screen to menu like in Tarkov.@@NoiceGuy
On steam it says the game will be released this year. Did devs say something more? Will there be an early access?
Hey there! We're aiming for a Q1 release for Early Access with a testing period before that.
I hope the map is filled with "activities" to do that affect your gameplay or even give some advantages to your faction.
I didn't enjoy cod dmz but the map had some cool stuff to do that could even affacet the game.
Maybe some radar to hack for have some pin of the last player location, or stole the radio code of the AI for check on the map the last shootout in your are etcetera.
There are a lot of stuff do add in the map for making a living world were players of the same faction can collaborate to achieve some bonus.
Maybe im mad but stuff like this could be dope, tarkvo should add more stuff to do in the raid beside press button and looting (still fun af but you get the point)
Maybe pvp won't be constant, but I think they underestimate the troll mentality of people. There will definitely be servers that are focused on pvp. Like hey everybody just log in as a 16 man army and swarm camps. Die hard pvp'rs are going to find a way to make that the sole purpose.
Do we know what kind of progression there will be? Are we talking skill leveling like in eft and items locked behind quests or trader lvls?
And is there gun modding similar to eft?
No RPG levelling like in Tarkov(THANKS GOD), its a certification system. Dont matter how many times you make the same movement(eg. unchambering mosin's bullets 100 times), you'll need to pass some tasks to win a certification that your apt to pass that level and receive it's bonuses.
Havent seen anything on gun modding, but can see different modded weapons on trailers, so maybe something like Ground Brach, Tarkov, etc.

We will see. Appreciate the video/info Nolan! I never hold my breath any other games that try to find their footing in this kind of genre/game style. Do I hope it comes out and succeeds? Yes. Do I hope it shake things up so BSG realizes what they COULD do? Yes. But, I will wait and see.
I would just like for Tarkov to implement ongoing severs like Cycle did. Remove raid timers, a "server" being available for -x- amount of hours, and have loot respawn. You never know who is on the map at what time.
I'm really excited for this game. I'm hoping to see some highlights on enemy AI and raw gameplay soon. In all the promo vids so far, they look really pretty, but the AI either just patrols or stands still and fires. You can tell there's absolutely no programming yet.
This game sounds like it's build for the element of surprise
Dude imagine living in a world where you can play this game, tarkov, and another game beautiful light, that makes me excited if they do them all right, this game definitely needs more pvp, at least for me personally, i like the balance of pvp and ai, not multiple hours between seeing players

@@Scott97xllThat would be nice. The PvP aspect of games like these have a tendency to "ruin" it for a lot of players. Theres a big hole in the market for a proper PvE extraction shooter
the PVP elements you're referring too from tarkov is mostly provided by the fact that there are PLAYER SCAVS as well as pmc's. so you get action quickly because 1. tarkovs spaws are stupid and 2. because theres both actual players and player scavs everywhere. cheers.

From what we've heard so far, that does seem to be the best comparison point. Still waiting on actual details.
My dream is arena is fixed and this drops early access I think that is a great combo. People will love a different game to quest in similar to Tarkov. And I’d assume there not going to have the EXACT same quest every wipe. Like it’s just laziness from bag in my opinion. Like you said the only thing that will kill Tarkov is Tarkov.

I love how the game looks and I wish it succeds, but one thing I honestly hate about gunplay is ADSing. It looks like the character's face is 1 centimeter from the red dot, where IRL it doesn't rly work that way.
Even if it's not their intention, I still think it. Can we just have to wait and see
This is like the 5th or 6th game now that looked like it would be the tarkov killer. I'm not holding my breath on any new games until they actually release.
Hope its not just DayZ with tarkov mechanics and quests and progression, but i think if the map can change often and have new maps (or maps, hopefully) progress overtime (they say this first map atleast, will flood at times,changing the way you move around the map somehow maybe unlocking new places who knows) things will be refreshing enough.... but im hoping they just hurry up and release this so we can get to making community feedback and changes!
8:00 also i hope with this bleeding mechanic its more or less like a knockdown once your less then 10% hp or something, less then 50% "blood" and you get knocked out and put in a coma is kinda harsh, hoping skill levels help make that chance be lower or something overtime but yea seems interesting (idk if they are refering to legit just how much blood you hve left or HP remaining)
There's going to be organ impacts and ruptures too, so not just bleeding gonna knock you down, but vital organs damage too.

People aren't talking about it enough but the 3 faction system is probably the most interesting part of the game. Not only will there actually be penalties for killing the same faction, but you can only squad with faction members; that creates more of a unity and pride for the faction you select and the gameplay that comes with it, the drama to be had. I want people to actually play into them and the fact it is actually "open world" but more of an open map, interactions with other players and factions have significantly more meaning than running into a player in Tarkov.
In comparison, I feel like Grey zone will make Tarkov feel like "CoD" in comparison. Grey zone just needs more polish.
Also Noice guy, the servers while persistent aren't like where you join and only play on that server, the game still has a lobby queue, you just join an ongoing server that never ends, people just cycle in and out but the progression is account wide so you can join "other servers" and continue your game, the state of the map in each server just won't be the same.
It’s good that this game is coming out, maybe bsg will start listening to us now j the fear of losing us.
from what I've heard from others its not an extraction shooter only yes you evac but only back to your fob but you dont actually go back to a hideout and load out of the map the fob i somewhere on said map its more realistic extraction compared to trakov were just go back to the menus but its def dope either way im excited for this game and almost wish i didt pay tarkov a year ago

What will "kill" Tarkov for me, in terms of this game, is if they ACTUALLY get it right, where gunfights are cover based, not movement and headshot based.
Also, centermass needs to WORK in terms of crippling the enemy
Tarkov's biggest issue rn is players tanking 350+hp damage as they run at you, to then just click your head.
It makes slow, realistic, tactical gameplay as being at the disadvantage.
Just seems like some dudes that looked at tarkov and decided to make a UE5 environment of their own and yoink the entire gameplay loop. They even rushed to mention the knockout state which tarkov spoke about coming to the game soon. Hope they can prove me wrong but the whole early access thing has just run its course, a lot of us are tired of that, too hard to know if your about to get scammed.
if you pay attention you can realize that the game is not to be a 1 to 1 copy of tarkov's gameplay loop, for example pvp might be rare or not forced into GZW, vs tarkov being based around pvp to the extent of adding quests to the gameplay loop forcing you to kill PMCs with a specific loadout or headshot PMCs with a bolt action rifle

competition is always good for the consumer (us). I just want something to give Tarkov legit Competition
Infiltration/extraction camping really is one of the things I'm concerned about because we don't know what the distribution of LZs is going to be. Obviously, you can always just get unlucky and land on another team, but if the points are too predictable it's gonna be grim.
The map is absolutely GIANT I highly doubt that's gonna be a problem

1. Map size isn't really the point, the distribution of obvious high traffic routes is.
2. The Lamang Exculsion Zone is 42km^2. That's slightly more than PUBG assuming thats actual playable space. SCUM is around 130, Dayz 220ish. As open world shooter maps go... it ain't small, but it's hardly giant.

The only thing that has ever killed Escape from Tarkov was Call of Duty DMZ.
I like the engine this game is running on more than tarkov. Tarkov has a major visibility issue
If it is less grindy and more towards casuals then i am definitely in favour of shifting to a new game

madfinger games is a Czech studio and I believe they can do it well, Czechs are very demanding and spoiled :D
CoD killer, WoW killer, Tarkov killer. Funny xD These games are still huge. I find it amazing that more new IP games try the extraction shooter. Cuz honestly the only extract shooter that is any fun besides EFT is Marauders. True player base is low, but hey most of us are stuck in the EFT grind. XD

Only thing I don't like about this game is the height the player holds the gun at, it takes almost none of the screen space, unlike the way Tarkov shoves the whole instrument of war at half your screen
Currently if BSG doesn't wanna die, they need to focus solely on the cheating issue. It has gotten out of control and it's mind boggling

I wish people would just look at different games as its own thing the constant comparisons are what hurt titles. Obviously there are similarities so there’s that, but if the game is just like tarkov why would anyone want to play it when you could just play tarkov. Grey zone seems much much slower pace then tarkov so will definitely reach a different crowd or the more immersive style players.

Can't kill arma either it's too open. Mod scene runs ARMA now as far as I'm concerned.
Seriously, we're not trying to kill any game. Especially Arma, since friends with a lot of BI devs.
I'm a lot more inclined to play this instead of tarkov while tarkov is at it is.
If this game delivers at EA what it is promising and moving forward I may not play Tarkov al least until they release, and thats IF they really deliver what they promised ages ago that GZW seems to be adding from the get-go, and that is open world (I will take map to map travel in tarkov) extra NPC factions AND PMC karma so it stops being a KoS pvp fukfest. And I say this because, I alarmingly see how little they mention any of these things anymore and how the chads rage when someone says the words "PMC karma" its like they want to avoid the issue altogether, that if they do implement this things as originally planned Tarkov wil be more like GZW in the future. I wish to remain optimistic and thing ARENA was made to appease the chads once the main game turns to a more tactical experience as it was offered ages ago. IF not GZW might not kill Tarkov, but def will kill it for me. Hopeful to this game and a more
Are you married to that server or does your progression copy over to all servers? I also need to ask what is the time to kill?
And in this game too the scope losing the fps or this game again can fix this problem to normal fps in scope use?
There's no problem to fix. You will always lose fps with realistic scopes, because it literally has to render the picture twice. That's how the technology works.

Everyone saying it’s not a tarkov killer…any game that players leave one game for another is a killer of the game. I won’t speak for others BUT I don’t want another tarkov. Hence the reason I’m looking for another game. I want something that offers something new, interesting, more open to less hardcore population like my friends, etc. this game sounds like it will be an awesome game for what it offers as itself. If you don’t wanna play it and stick with tarkov, that’s the beauty of life, you can do so lol. Anyways, just a thought - Quit being a Beta bitch, stop being a follower, be your own person, form your own opinions :)

Marauders did very well to do what tarkov does but that game died for me when they added the bleeding system they implemented it so badly

The persistent world scares me tbh cycle frontier springs to mind and cheaters dominating the game since they can take control of a server persistently hoovering up unknowing players gear till the server dies then hop to another server and repeat

Respawn and run to get your gear is a no for me.
Stayed away from tarkov for about a month now. Played one raid died to a definite wallhacker withing 2 mins of raid.so yeah a game that's like tarkov only has to do one thing to kill tarkov....function
Being able to revive your teammates is exactly what I think Tarkov is currently missing. If we had that option, and to drag your partner body into protection then smoke grenades, supression fire, and so on would make finally sense...
reviving would make playing solos even harder than it is , same with being able to come back for your gear of your dead body , that team will just camp the body until their buddy comes back

The ADS models look atrocious, they take up more than half the screen, especially with the base M4 model, that reflex looks like shit too
