- X-Men: The Animated Series 30th Anniversary Cast Reunion
This was recorded live at the C2E2 convention at the McCormick Place in Chicago, Illinois on Mar 31, 2023.
Featuring: Catherine Disher (Jean Grey), Cal Dodd (Wolverine),
Alison Sealy-Smith (Storm), Chris Potter (Gambit),
George Buza (Beast), Lenore Zann (Rogue)
So heart touching to see the X-Men 90s animated series voice cast reunited altogether. They're the true X-Men in my book. Can't wait for X-Men '97.
These people did save my life. There has never been an animation series that has touched my life like this one. It was so formative it made me who I am today. I really believe that.
I second this.
I believe this is the best cartoon ever! This series has healing powers.
R.I.P. Norm Spencer 1958-2020 the voice of Cyclops / Scott Summers he will be missed. 🙏🏻😓
Ahhhh!!! 42:49 I screamed out loud! That totally made my day 😍😍😍
RIP John Colicos, the best Apocalypse.
The definitive apocalypse
@@SWOTHDRA If X-men 97 bring back Apocalypse for season 2 or 3 he will be voice by David Kaye how voice Apocalypse also voice Charles Xavier / Professor X in X-Men: Evolution Kaye because sound similar to John Colicos.
@@gundanout11Oh i didn't realize Arishem was the voice of Apocalypse too thats pretty cool
The absolute best. The definitive, iconic, incomparable.
Rip Norm Spencer
I love Loneore how her southern accent made me fall in love with her (Rouge)
Didn't realize until now that Jake Russell and Martha Tinsdale from THE GOOD WITCH are Gambit and Jean Grey respectively. Wow!
George Buza is the truck driver that drives Rogue in the beginning of the first X-Men
Chris Potter should’ve been cast as Gambit 😢😢😢😢😢😢
Yes! I can’t help but feel bad for him! He is the voice of Gambit and should have been cast!
He's cable now.
Here in the philippines back in the day in 1993 i alway looking forward to watch every Friday night the x-men tv series, it is my part of my childhood that i will never forget especially wolverine my favorite character. 😊
Yep Fridays and then Batman animated series followed!! Home Along Da Riles on Mondays, Ok ka Fairy Ko on Thursdays and X-MEN on Fridays!! Always soooo excited to see Storm🤘
The actor that plays Beast is hilarious 😆. He seems like a really cool human being 😊. They all do. Storm is my absolute favorite character in all media. I'm an avid storm watcher, here in Michigan.
I did NOT know Catherine Disher was the voice of Jean Grey I always knew her from the Vampire series Forever Knight
She was also on an episode of Kung Fu: The Legend Continues with Chris Potter HIMSELF too as well okay @Reaper2004.
Iona Morris was the original voice of Storm. I met her at a Wondercon years ago and she was a total b**ch! Having said that, she was a phenomenal talent, and no disrespect towards Alison, but I do think Iona was the best voice to play Storm.
Allison is CRUSHING it on X-Men 97!!!!!!! She’s so wonderful!
Allison is killing she's amazing her voice has become more powerful
Iona is a better voice actress, but that’s not the first time I’ve heard of her being unpleasant in person.
I'm so freaking glad they asked Alison for 97 instead of Iona. I never cared for Iona's version. Alison has always been more iconic to me and she has said wayyyyyyyy more of Storm's most memorable lines than Iona. The only thing I remember of Iona's is "Storm, mistress of the elements commands you to release that child" and not much else. The rest are Alison's, which includes the very famous "I shall meet you at the monorail" line. Love Alison to bits! ❤❤❤ She seems like such a lovely lady too!
@@josephensworth7044 Iona also voiced Storm in the episode when she defeated Nimrod. “He has not yet felt the force of the elements!” That segment was far more memorable than anything Allison has done with Storm.
Storm got inspired by Shakespeare. Makes so much sense!
Did not know until recently that George Buza voiced many other characters for the Children of the Atom video game.
He did voice grampa from beyblade season one to three
I watched reruns of this series and loved it. I was born in 1997 so it ended the year I was born. I can’t wait to see what they do with X-men ‘97. I’m really hoping this series spins off a universe so we can get an X-Factor Investigation, X-force, Excalibur, and Alpha Flight.
When will Disney get the stick out of their asses and put the original series on blu-ray.. jeez already!
wow Gambit is not a real Cajun, could've fooled me! Did actually all these years haha
No Jubilee 😢
She turned it down
10:20 Lenore Zann=Rogue ❤
23:58 And she's goddamn right, the new series is fantastic 😎
27:12 Man, i hope that guy and his family is doing well, i love how actors (and everyone who is behind of a show or movie) is able to make people lives better with little things at times, thanks for sharing that Cal ❤️
39:19 That's a great resume of Beast, he always tries at first to make it more peaceful but you still have to kick some asses at times, perfectly described George XD
40:34 Cal is the best man XD
. Also congrats to the guy who asked that question because turned the thing into a great moment with the actors answering with nice stuff
42:48 The goddess herself 🙌🏼 🌪️
44:53 Such a great guy Hugh is, i hope Cal Dodd or any of them are making a cameo on Deadpool & Wolverine (maybe wouldn't happen but who knows XD)
Catherine Disher (Jean Grey) was also the voice of Jill Valentine in Resident Evil 3: Nemesis. Awesome game!
Thanks for uploading this! Haven't seen the new series but can't believe they replaced Chris Potter as Gambit! Gambit was always my favourite character. Seems like such a bizarre idea to recast it
XMEN 97 WILL BE EPIC OLD SCHOOL IS THE BEST SCHOOL
I really wanted Catherine to gove her response to not doing Jean Grey in 97 and what the reasons were? Her speaking voice and Jean's are sooo different.
one of the handful of things that youtube is used correctly for, this is great especially if you don't live in the US, i've accidentally found cons on youtube about lois and clark (dean cain/terri hatcher) she-ra animated series, even peter welling speaking in a classroom about robocop, transformers voice actors and even doing fan scripts, mark hamill doing bits with kevin conroy, the list goes on, heck i found out out the guy who does oprtimus primes voice does the predator and at a con he explains how it all happened! p.s this was great accept for the abcdefg+ freaks in the queue
I grew up in the 90s watching this on snowy TV because we were too poor to have cable. The story was so deep for me to understand but that’s why it kept me as a fan until adulthood, because then I understood it.
'Summon the whiiirlwind'
So freaking iconic!!
Oh wow, this is one of my favorite x panels! Thanks for the upload
These characters shaped and molded who I am today. X-Men taught me that it was okay to look different and be different . I knew inside of me the trouble that was coming. I was a little boy who knew he was different. By the age of 13 I knew I was gay. Stan Lee wrote these characters originally with gay, black, and minorities in mind.. Lord in today's society the costumes alone in the cartoon would offend people everywhere. But as a generation that grew up on Saturday morning cartoons, your favorite kid cereal (mine was count chocula, and still is to this day!) I would have my trusty pillow with New kids on the blocks- Jordan or carebears... It all depended on what was clean. 😅
I'd run downstairs grab my cereal and if my stupid sisters or brother were watching TV they knew.... it was time to go or they would face a nuclear meltdown.
I hated when festivals or new interruptions came on because they would still play the episode behind the news so things would happen and they would flip back to programming and I'm sitting there growing seeing red.
There was a few times growing up where I felt like Jean grey. I felt like my mind was a dangerous ground after developing D.I.D.
I won't go on now I'm babbling and writing a book.
I just wanna thank all of them for being them and helping me unknowingly.
Sounds of the 90s along with the classic theme and the NBA on NBC
I have the theme song for my ringtone.
Please go to the Philippines please team!
Why did I not know they were doing the voices for the X-Men 97?! Omfg its my childhood all over I could cry
Yes, but some of them are playing different characters. Jean Grey, Gambit, and Jubilee (and others) have been recast.
I really wanted Catherine to gove her response to not doing Jean Grey in 97 and what the reasons were? Her speaking voice and Jean's are sooo different.
Cal Dodd got emotional telling his story if meeting fans 😊. Thses characters mean so much to them and to us ❤️.
Too bad for NDA
Why? Dish please 🥺
wait what? jean is married to xavier :0
I know right! I googled it and they're divorced now...but damn who knew?
@@AThousandVoicesCall ya i never new that kind of nice to see voiceactors can sometimes get together, wel there also just human so ya.
So great to see the original cast reunited ,so looking forward to seeing X-men 97
This is not entirely the original cast. Iona Morris was the original voice of Storm.
I'M SO EFFING EXCITED!!!!!!!!!
i love this cast! they seem so happy and genuine!! ^_^
43:05
Not surprised at all how wholesome this is.
That guy said that the Disney version is crap. But it's good to hear from the voice actors.
and we now know that it's not crap at all.
he was joking duhhh
The host is thick thick, geez. Respectfully of course
30 years? Sigh 🤦♂️
Original X-men came out in 94. They released the continuation in 2024. So it has been that long.
Our childhood heroes!
