So true, I remember not being that interested in the projector, only as an added feature. Kid me first saw them at a K.B. Toys in the local mall. I didn't want the oversized Wolverine or other characters because they would have been out of scale from the rest of my X-men 6in figs. However, the Apocalypse character on the show could grow big! So that was perfect to have the projector Apocalypse figure be his "giant" size version towering over the 6in figs. He even had this cool wrecking ball type arm. So cool! :D
Seeing this just taught me how spoiled i was as s kid. I had all of those in the first 3 Toy Biz except for the X-men Headquarters. I still even have the Blackbird and Sentinel.

AVI ARAD worked on the first movies as executive producer But for the 3rd movie, he decided to step in as the main producer That's why we got a movie done by a director with no passion, and a limited story overstuffed with characters, just so he could sell more toys
Unfortunately they just HAD to do this corny Wonder Woman spin for Mystique because there was literally ONLY reference for boomer director about "woman with super powers switching her clothes". But yeah, Mystique here is Complete and utter hottie. And more like comics than any movies, just like most commercials.
Ahhh yes, the water wars toys...water toys were mostly a sign the action figure people were low on ideas. I remember a similar line for GI Joe before they went under for a while...
