I sought this video out for that exact reason. The trailer line sounds awful but I've now watched a couple recent videos of Cal doing it and they all sound fine. I agree, I think we'll be okay for the show. That one line is hopefully a fluke or given more context will make sense.
@@nippondering it's funny. In this panel interview, Cal mentions the voice director at Marvel wanted him to do a deeper version, and he refused outright. Maybe that director sent the trailer editors a modified deeper take (!).
If marvel had not have filed for bankruptcy back in the 90s.And I believed Cal Dodd would have had the same run with Logan as Kevin Conroy did with Batman. And that universe that started with X-Men would have gotten on as long as the Timm universe did.
Whoever is the voice director, they're not doin a good job with wolverine. His voice should be deeper and more gravely baritone. Not this chatty Cathy upbeat jokester that they're trying to force on us🧐
That host was pretty terrible and made this awkward to watch. Not very eloquent at all and hardly sounded that interested or plugged in to this interview. The crowd seemed a little small and less than engaging too, which is a shame. Cal was fantastic, though.
Cal Dodd Is The Best Wolverine Ever!
The X-Men Cartoon Maker reference... Wow, that's a deep cut.
Cal Dodd is amazing!
Kevin Conroy will always be the voice of Batman Cal Dodd will always be the voice of Wolverine
Anything against Steve?
His normal speaking is similar to Captain America from Marvel Capcom fighting games from 1996 to 2000.😊
Wolverine sounds really different in the trailer for X-Men 97, but Cal Dodd sounds perfect as him here. I'm confused.
It's just one line, but yeah, he can clearly do the same voice from the 90s.

@@Volt35 what a thought! Ughhh, people... Welp crossing my fingers now that post production didn't eff us because of a garbage VD and producer.
@@Volt35 Wow, like putting a snapchat filter on the Mona lisa
