Great job. I'm helping someone fit a lovely green door with side panel soon.
Nice looking door
Good explainer vid, cheers!
Nice job again stu the composite doors do finish it off nice I have recently had one fitted and it is a lot better than the pvc doors
yeah lots more solid, everything evolves and keeps getting better :)
stu crompton true they are solid all the way through and a lot thicker than the pvc door
it depends Ken but mostly reduce by 20mm overall
Lovely job guys!
Excellent
Great video Stu! It would be great if you could provide a bit more detail on your technique for applying silicone sealant to brick/block.
Tape the door with masking tape about 5mm in to leave a perfect line
Fantastic job! Wish u fitted my door as my fitters did a poor job from start to finish! Liked the finishing touches. Quick question the internal draught excluder should it be touching the door all around as mine has gaps in places as the door is not fully square in the frame. Top edge of the door it tight and crushing the draught excluder.
Good job, does the screws for the door frame screw into the exterior brick course or the interior?
Very tidy mate. That green is getting very common at the moment. Very 30s. How much was that door?
Great job, a couple of questions do you always leave the door in the frame when fixing, I assumed you would remove it fix the frame then rehang simply because of the weight ,and those fixings ,no raw plugs just drive straight into brickwork,is that right, just checking we have a one to do at home and contemplating doing it ourselves,.
Grate love your videos
thanks ronan appreciate it mate
Did the door come with a threshold built into the frame?
That’s how a door should be installed 👍
Some instruction or fitting advice would be helpful in your videos!
I stopped fitting composite doors as they are nothing but trouble they all bow after a while and then won’t close properly. All the manufacturers have tried different things to stop them bowing but none can get it right and it costs you time and money going back to change them☹️
Do them screws go right into brick or block mate
Which type of screws did you use? Also stu if I were to buy a new door would I just measure from brick to brick of the opening?
Very informative video! I have a quick question - you know the stylish stain glass window in the middle of the door? Well mine leaks a little in the corners (from indoors) when it rains heavily. What is the reason and best solution? Any tips appreciated. Thanks
Informative? You couldn't install a door using this video.
good job wen you free lol
Missed A bit of quad at top to cover the packer line but very nice colour, is it chartwell green?
Quad?!
It's not the 1950's
Just have a question.
Why all video's show that you fit doors with frame same time.
Its not gona be easy to fit the frame first and then hange the door.
Or you have to fit frame with door due to the weigh of the door?
Thank you.
Love the videos stuff keep it up m8 .
thanks buddy i will dont worry about that
never tried that we will see what we can do ha
stu crompton couple days course in Manchester and it's a good earner I think u be great at it give it a bash m8
cheers max
Have you ever done bricklaying on site or is it just private jobs you do Stu?
yeah scott im going to show the last house i built soon in preston in a video :)
My door is attatched tonpartition wall and 2 to 3 inch gap between stone pillar and frame i dont think this is quite right. Otherside is stone wal. Partion wal seperates down stairs i feel evien more vulnerable crackball way up wall.pastic coverings dont stick they just coming off. 😞
Good job. Made it look so easy. Lovely door too!
Alright mate. Do you supply and fit? Am in liverpool and am shopping round for quotes.
Yes we do mate
Ok, i may be in touch. Got a guy coming round for a quote on monday, they do interest free. I prefer that payment option but if its well over 1k i'll consider buying one on ebay and give you a shout!!
@@Stucrompton1nice i love it 👍👍
What tune is this mate
What were the screws you used? Are they the ones that don't need a plug?
They are just masonry frame fixing screws. They don't need wall plugs. They are very common on composite door installs.
Have you fitted composite stable doors? Do they perform just as well as full doors?
yes mate all sealed in, top quality
stu crompton thanks. I’ve had timber stable doors that really underperform.
stu crompton can you link me any good self fit suppliers?
I had new windows fitted a while back and I said to the fitters don`t bother fitting the edging strips as I would re-paper up to the reveal. They told me the job would look neater. In reality the edging covered up a gap you could get your finger through. Same with the outside. The strips they silicone on bend and twist over time. I took them off and back filled with exterior filler and replaced them. Can`t fault the windows, just the finish.
depends what silicone they used and how they were put on, ive never had a complaint about trims twisting and falling off in all the time ive been doing it. At least you sorted it :)
I think this was due to the gap between brick and window, as I said I back filled it an replaced the strip on the outside and it fitted flush. As for the inside I filled and papered up to the window. Thanks for your reply. All the best. Keep making more videos. ;)
Strip at the very top would have finished it off well, can't help looking at the old stuff, sorry not finished off for me ☹
😁😁😁😁
is it possible to fit uPVC door into a timber frame ?
Nice door where did you get it from
its a secret :)
@@Stucrompton1 solidor
You could get one from Emplas
Brew in the van while dad carries on working?!
thats the one moon hahah
Where's the doorstep cover?
I fixed around 7000 composit doors
Don’t use Congleton glass to fit your doors they have the worst fitters.
Come on lads at a step by step guide would help better
Donations are for what🤨
Standard pvc threshold far to big 🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️ could of easily got a low pvc or Ali threshold on this door
Less of a trip hazard
I just installed a door using this video... not.
And your point is pal?
The trouble is you expect to fit a door by watching one video, all the best
Watching this video will be a waste of 3.5 minutes of your life
Ridiculous, the title said how to yet contained no instruction. Useless
About to comment something similar. These videos don't really show enough detail to teach anyone HOW TO install a new door.
This video does NOT show anyone how to fit a composite door and the music is BLOODY annoying too...!
yes the annoying music demonstrations !, great video, but get rid of the music
Not helpful at all
Maybe because it’s not a tutorial cheers
