    I love 303. Have a 2002 Toyota and I scrubbed the door seals and roof rack and super faded rear plastic trim with this stuff and it looks great now. Been holding up for a month so far. Tires still look great too. Crisp clean satin look

      I I like 303 a lot., Started using it on my Toyota Corolla Liftback in 1976. Most "faded" trim is coated with run off car wax and environmental pollutants. Your car will look better and longer if you annually do a Dawn strip wash, clay bar the paint and then clean the seals and plastic trim with a plastic cleaner and the minimum of scrubbing. I do this and use Meguiar's Paint Protect instead of wax of the paint, 303 on the rubber and plastic trim. . Costs less, lasts longer, looks better.

    303 formulates their own product. It has a multitude of uses. Try it on wiper blades, door seals, tires, hoses and belts in engine compartment.

    I picked up the 303 wipes (in white container) at an autozone and never used it or heard of it before. Wanted something better then typical armor all , and Just read the label and got it. And WOW! Used it on some used plastic side steps/running boards I bought , and it brought it back to life. Shine lasted longer and almost better then buying “back to black” products”. Picked up this bottle at Napa and used it exactly how you did on my Pops Tesla. He loved it. Be carful( some Tesla models have suede on the door panel and do not use on suede) 👍👍👍 good video

  • @rickdff62
    @rickdff62 6 ปีที่แล้ว +22

    The biggest advantage of using 303 is the protection it provides. I've been using it on/in my truck since 2010 and all the rubber gaskets around the doors and windows, as well as, dash, leather seats, trim, etc. still look brand new. Use it on your windshield wipers too and they last for years. It's awesome. Not sure I'd use it for detailing other peoples vehicles tho, due to the cost, becuase it is pricey.

    303 makes a great product all around. I've never seen too many complaints. Besides the price of the product sometimes. You can be pricey. Especially their Marine fabric guard. I think it is about $75 for a gallon. weather is for Fabrics or for leather. I trust their products more than any others

    • @psdaengr911
      @psdaengr911 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      The price of 303 is deceptive because very little is needed to treat a surface. Poor application technique can waste more material than is applied. I use the smallest cosmetic pads that I can get at a Dollar Store for application and only apply more product to the pad when I can see that it isn't applying the product to the surface. I bought one gallon of 303 in the late 1970s, used it on my scuba gear, tires, belts, hoses, wiper blades,lawn furniture until 2012.
      The only other car care product that has the same kind of result-to-applied material ratio is Mcguilars Paint Protect.

    • @psdaengr911
      @psdaengr911 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I hate prepacked product sprayers. They waste product. They may be ok for shooting cheap stuff onto engine bays or on tires for cleaning, but for applying a protectant, wax, glass cleaner or treatment, they overapply and the waste needs to be removed. That's good to the manufacturer, not the consumer. For applications where spraying is necessary, buy a $2 spray bottle at Home Depot and repackaging the stuff from the cheap bottle. That HD sprayer will pump more precisely, more reliably and last for a decade.

    Thank you for putting this together. My question is, has anyone proved the 303 uv protection actually works? I’ve been using the maguires natural shine for 15 years nearly weekly on my truck and the dash still cracked and has begun to implode on its self as well as the door cards have chalked and faded. The feed back I’ve gotten was that most people with my truck got maybe 7-10 years at most from when the truck was built out of their dash before that problem started and I got about 17. Im. Not complaining. I’m about to start over with another truck of the same year, I’m planning on doing all I can to tighten the whole thing up before putting it on the road including going to an auto interior shop to start with a new dash and some other things. I own my vehicles for as long as possible and keep them clean and running strong. I got 15 years(over 300k miles) out of my current truck, I’d like to get that and more out of the next one. Using the right stuff has a lot to do with it in your strict maintenance cycles. Companies claim all they want and never have to back it up.

  • @bodeine454
    @bodeine454 ปีที่แล้ว

    I just recently bought a bottle of the 303 protectant because it was highly praised by the channel "Sweet Project Cars." I haven't used it yet. We recently bought a very nice '02 Lexus LS 430 and the other day I was putting the driver side window down and it got stuck about halfway and I noticed the top of the door panel bulging. At first I thought the window came off of the track but after researching I found out that sometimes, at least on these cars, that the window going down can grab the rubber window seal and fold it downward causing the window to get stuck and the seal folding is what causes the top of the door panel to bulge out. I found a video about this same problem on the same type of car and he said he fixed it by spraying 303 on the door seals but I'm sure some is going to get on the glass and I'd like to know how hard it is to clean it off once it gets on there. Also, I've heard of other remedies for helping windows slide up and down such as dry lube, silicone spray and certain types of silicone grease. Honda makes a special kind of grease for rubber seals and such, I can't think of the name of it right off, but it's supposed to be really good for this type of application and many people rave about how it can rejuvenate even old, dry and brittle rubber. Toyota also makes a rubber grease although I haven't really researched that one so I don't know how it compares. I have regular silicone grease like you find in the plumbing section of hardware stores but what I'm worried about using it is that will it leave a film of silicone on the glass every time I raise and lower the windows? That might get messy after awhile, IDK. Anyway, that's what my concerns are at the moment of which way is the best way to lubricate the seals so that they don't grab the window on the way down. I've also thought about additionally cleaning the windows real good and then applying Nu-Finish on them to help make them slick and further keep them from grabbing the window glass, I know that stuff does a fantastic job on the outside of windshields and glass to cause rain to bead up and run off a lot like Rain-Ex does only I think Nu-Finish lasts longer.
    Those are my current thoughts and thanks for the video. 👍

    Windshield glass has plastic in the middle, which blocks 100% of the UV, and side windows have UV-blocking chemicals added that, varying by manufacturer block, I believe like 95%. So why, on modern cars, do we need a UV-blocker on the interior?

  • @psdaengr911
    @psdaengr911 5 ปีที่แล้ว +24

    Lots of misconceptions or poor language usage in this video.
    Car interiors DO NOT attract UV. They can absorb it or reflect it. UV absorption causes plastics to degrade.
    A "dressing" is a material applied on top of a material to change/camouflage its appearance. Shoe polish is a dressing. Neatsfoot oil is a leather protectant.
    303 does not make dressings. Meguiars's does, and the interior product which contains a wax, is one.
    303 is 100% UV inhibitor/protectant that combines with the plastic. Mcguilars is a dressing that lays on top of the surface and coats it with a wax to prevent "outgassing". Each has an application.
    I've used both but prefer 303 on dashboards because it DOES NOT change the appearance of clean plastic, and Mcguialrs on door panels and surfaces that get scuffing from the occupants' contact.

      All purpose cleaner and some sort of scrubbing brush, then use a leather protectant such as leather serum from chemical guys.

    • @SS-mn8hm
      @SS-mn8hm 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well if it's clean leather it won't shine. In other words it's dirty if it shines..use a leather cleaner and detail boars hair brush scrub it and wipe with micro fiber..

      "Steam cleaning" is hot water application with vacuum extraction. Water won't remove kerosene of gasoline.
      "Leather" seat material is plastic coated. Use Dawn and water 1:1. Apply with microfiber and "rinse" with microfiber. The smell is probably into the carpeting and the cabin filter. Replace the filter with a carbon one if available) and clean the carpet. You can camouflage the odor with a bar of deodorant soap left in its wrapper or Febreze fabric free. If using the Febreze, apply to the carpet at the start of a hot day when you won't be using it, and open the windows if possible that night to get out as much as possible of the volatiles.

      It's a waste. Floor mats don't get enough UV exposure to matter. Clean them with a water base degreaser, brush and hose off.

    I have used all 3 and ArmourAll will last the longest. I use ArmourAll every 6 months where 303 and McGuire's will only last 6-8 weeks. No brainer which one I will keep using.

      Armor all can damage your dash over time. 303 provides the best uv protection and in my opinion, the best look. It's not shiny and greasy like armor all.

      Gold Eagle Company.

    • @lizardfirefighter110
      @lizardfirefighter110 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Gold Eagle bought 303 in 2012 or so. I called Gold Eagle and asked them if they had changed the formula. They assured me that they had not, but had removed some of the none toxic claims because they could not find any data that could support such claims. Funny thing, I noticed that on the blue spray bottle they have also removed the word “aerospace”. I don’t know why. I like all of the 303 protectant products. I do not use the 303 cleaner because the label has too many warnings. There are other products out there that clean as well that require less safety precautions.
      I use “Quick -n- Brite” as a cleaner. It does a decent job in most interior cases, and it is non-toxic. It has a clean smell that is not over powering. Furthermore, I feel that 303 is compatible with any Quick -n- Brite” residual that might be left behind.

    Since Meguiars was bought by another company, their products are made with cheaper products. I would never put a company like 303 next to Meguiars. You have to realize that all the products you find in a regular store is a lot less effective than the professional products sold to professional detaillers. P,ease guys stop using Turtle Wax and Meguiars on véhicules.

      Lol..ok, sure thing. Kind of like generic medications versus name brand. Turtle Wax as come out with some awesome stuff. And the ultimate line of Meguiars is pretty damn good.. just because it's says professional, Rossmoor, can only be ordered online. Doesn't make it Superior
