    303 is Water based, the h2o (water) molecules will evaporate and eventually will dry. The other added chemicals including the UV protectant will remain. Plastic has electrons, protons, and neutrons, therefore, changing the atomic structure/ static discharge will prevent dust from settling. A good example of how 303 works are like using Bounce Dryer Sheets, Static Guard, and Scotch Guard reducing static making fabric not clingy. Be sure to reapply 303 after car washes and heavy rainfall. If used on car paint surfaces, it provides a nice shine and UV protection while in dry weather, once it rains, 303 will wash off and there will be some streaks. The streaks are the 303 product that did not get completely washed off, but it does not harm the car at all. Just rewash your car by hand and then use 303 again. Get a windshield screen or dash cover to protect your dashboard. 303 has no color additives and does not restore color, it enhances the plastic polymers or pigments making it appear to restore the color of the plastic. The only product I know that does an exceptional job with Exterior black plastic is Cerakote. For Interior use because it contains a Black Dye is Turtle Wax Ceramic Acyrlic Black Spray Wax to keep the interior door and floor panel's black trim looking great. Rub and buff the Turtle Wax in. It will cover up light minor scratches and scuffs caused by people who drag their feet instead of picking them up when entering/exiting the car.

    Been using 303 for many years I love it ,the dash on my LR discovery D4 is brilliant as it gets exposed to very high temps when we travel to Spain.I usually coat everything including tyres and everything rubber about once a year, we have three cars and they all look fantastic.

    I think you're supposed to clean the interior first before you apply the 303. On your doorpanel you can clearly see the stains through the 303 near the doorhandle. Clean the interior with interior cleaner or with Poorboy's APC+D with 1 to 15 dilution and then the 303 to get the best results.

      Brett Schiewe absolutely agree, I just like to see how well these interior detailers do in terms of cleaning as well as protecting. Normally, I use meguiars APc to clean the surfaces first before applying a dress coat, but like I say, curiosity gets the better of me :) thanks for the kind words and tips 👍🏻

    The protectant is meant as it's titled as, not a cleaner. You'd probably want to hit the "greasy" marks and fingerprints with diluted APC or dedicated interior cleaner THEN use 303 Protectant for better adhesion to the materials.

    • @DaveRebuilds
      @DaveRebuilds  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Agreed, that’s what I do if I’m detailing a car, but watching the TH-camrs who say it’s the best thing ever, they don’t wipe the panels down first which I think is bonkers 👍🏻

    Windshield glass has plastic in the middle, which blocks 100% of the UV, and side windows have UV-blocking chemicals added that, varying by the manufacturer, block like 95%. So why, on modern cars, do we need a UV-blocker on the interior? BTW, I use 303 on tires myself, and generally like the product.

    Good video, thanks. I am going to get some of this. But ... I could still see fingerprints on the passenger-facing surface of the dashboard, lower right, where a hand was pressed against it, and the 303 didn't blend it away. What's up with that?

    • @DaveRebuilds
      @DaveRebuilds  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It could just have been a spot that I missed or that was still drying? I have found that it’s best to use an APC first to clean the plastics before applying the 303, it makes the finish last way longer as the 303 gets a better contact with the plastic 👍🏻
