    Andrew, what’s the ideal backstay set up then? I have a hydraulic one that is manually operated.. fast to let off but takes some work to get back on. Is a purchase system better?

    Can you also do a similar session on a genoa boat.. ? Mine has 135% overlap and it would be great to learn what I can improve for trim.

    When you moved the car forward to increase power why did the speed drop from 6.6 to 5.5? Seems like more power would equal more speed.

      Its the interaction between the jib and the mainsail that alters the speed, more power normally alters the spill at the top of the mainsail resulting in backwinding or more rudder angle which increaseshull drag. Hope that helps.

    if you ease the mainsheet and you don't ease the vang you will not increase twist????

      Correct, or at least very minimally since the boom stays low when sheeting out. The tension on your leech virtually remains the same.
