    I love it. It must feel scary fast. I have a 2016 MT07 myself that I am restoring and really love what you did with the XSR 700 round cluster. @Whatton_moto  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Richard, thank you for kind words… very much appreciated! Once boost kicks in it’s definitely a fun ride haha
      I will definitely get you the model number, any xsr700 cluster should work though unless they’ve upgraded them with new features with the later ones.. i believe the one I bought was from a 2017 bike. I would also get the XSR900 or xsr700 cluster holder as well, either one fits as I use the xsr900, purely down to the personal opinion of preferring the look compared to the 700 version.
      Check back on this comment for the cluster number if I can find it mate, once I’m around the bike.

    Beautiful bike, would love to turbo one in the future and even then just cruise with it and have a little fun here or there. Yours sounds lovely on the road especially letting off the throttle at mid-high rpms. Thanks very much for the kind words and support mate, it’s much appreciated! Yeah unfortunately the internal work can be a little pain unless you have a builder you can use, then sometimes it depends on how long they take to complete the engine build

    I dont know, I mean a used MT-10 is kinda cheap, I think I would rather buy that even though a turbocharged bike is cool. Why not put a turbo on a MT-10 instead ? :D

      @@Whatton_moto Have you heard or have any info if there is a turbokit for the MT-10 like the one you got for the MT-07 ? Maybe the GT-15 that you had installed on your MT-07 also fits the MT-10 ? That would bring the MT-10 around the ballpark of 200 rear wheel horsepower something ? I might have missed it but did you mention how much the turbokit and the installation cost you for your MT-07 ? It might not be that expensive for me to put it on a MT-10 if I buy it again ?
      Dude the fuel economy is much worse than "not the geatest" It is bad in a problematic way. I can not think of any other bike that I can buy right now that uses more fuel than the MT-10. My friend thought his 2017 Aprilia Tuono V4 Factory was bad, the MT-10 was noticeable worse than that and much worse than 210hp Ducati Streetfighter V4.
      I did a very expensive trip down to Italy from Sweden and round the Alps summer 2019, I write very expensive because the fuel I used on the MT-10 I made the trip on was a lot. It used about 1 liter per 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) on average and the trip was 8000 kilometers (5000 miles).
      That is about 800 liters (211 gallons) of fuel and If I remember correctly the fuel was about 18 swedish crowns (1,75$) per liter in most of Europe that summer (today it is 2$ per liter). So just the fuel for the MT-10 on that trip was about 1400 dollars :(
      Yamaha was aware of this problem and they say that they have improved it on the newer 2022 model that hopefully made it, at least like you wrote "not the greatest" :)

    The math sort of works out to near equal with a tuned MT-09. You can drop 15 or more pounds of bulk off a stock MT-09 with exhaust, lithium battery, and other bits. You can basically max out peak power to around 119 hp and 70 ft-lb with un-restricting ECU and tuning. If you have deep pockets, going with a 520 chain conversion, carbon fiber wheels, and other bits helps a lot to get the weight off and remove rotating mass.
    I'd love to see a highly accessorized MT-09 go against the turbo MT-07 and see how it compares.

  • @oriolb3ch

    • @oriolb3ch
      @oriolb3ch ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Whatton_moto newer street triple's have better brakes and suspension but the throttle feel of the first gen 2008/2009 is incredible, some say it's way "touchy" or "agressive" but in my opinion you feel more connected to the bike compared to newer models equipped with ride by wire which dynamically adapt throttle position based on many sensors and factors... I wish some day you could make some measurements like 0-200 or 1/4 mile so we could be able to compare.

      Thank you man, glad you like the build :)
      The internals don’t have to be changed, if tuned correctly and ran I believe I ran rich enough then you should be safe, just more oil changes required to keep the turbo and components healthy
      I’ve gone for an internal build myself for reliability as my previous original engine was ran too lean for so long before the turbo that I ended up snapping a Conrod in the end. Silly decision to run the engine without an ecu tune on a full aftermarket exhaust system

    Any turbo lag?

    • @Whatton_moto
      @Whatton_moto  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not really, it’s got a wind up to around 3k revs it feels but the bike is already ticking over that rev ranger by that point. Boost kicks in fairly fast and snappy when I’m the correct gear. As it’s got a nice bit of torque for its weight, the turbo is already picking up as the natural torque curve is giving plenty of fun. Once it does kick in you just feel a nice toque curve as opposed to anything sudden
      You can get it to give you that sudden feeling of boost by you need to be in too high of a gear if that makes sense
      Thanks for the interest mate :)

    • @Whatton_moto
      @Whatton_moto  ปีที่แล้ว

      That would make for a great video! I will try and find someone willing to do the video with me on a drag strip… I’d have the 07 take the lead at the start and then the R6 take top end if there’s enough left before the line
      What would your prediction be :)

      They came with the bike from factory on the limited edition motocage model. I believe it was a short lived gen 1 limited edition. Unfortunately to my knowledge you can’t buy them anywhere, I’d love to get ahold of another set myself for a different colour scheme

    Lol an mt09 would literally slaughter this thing, spending 8k on a turbo kit is a waste just to get the same power of an mt09. mt09s also look WAY better

      @bowsama07 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think this would get an mt09 off the jump till between 60-100ish but then the 09 would slaughter the top end. Even stock an 07 is pretty quick compared to an 09.
