For those who own an MT-10, have you ever thought about installing a header with a dual exhaust system? Something similar to the Panigale V4 from Ducati or the dual exhausts on the Kawasaki Z1000 ?
If I was gonna do all that I wouldn’t be worried about being too loud lol I want all the ponies and stay somewhat reliable but it’s still a really nice build. I don’t think many people appreciate how much work goes into a turbo bike
This is the first tastefully-stretched bike I've ever seen. Enough to be functional but not so much it can't turn anymore, bravo. She's a mean-looking beast.
Cool bike, shame about lack of safety - Had a turbo k7 gix 1000, got tboned doing 20kph at a give way by a 100 series, had 3 skin graphs and was in hospital for 2 months and couldn't work for 5 months.
Gaddem! Talk about living on the edge, 😂😂😂 that's a lot of power for one man to willed. Great job to engineer department and the sound on that machine is insanely great!
230hp @ 10psi with forged pistons and con rods is always gonna be overkill mods for such low hp, you don’t even need the intercooler but I think that is the only reasonable upgrade you made to this. The rest is just a waste of money. When you wanna go for 350-700hp is when you need to look at upgrading internal components, IC and standalone ECU’s Any 1000cc bike can handle that amount of power with a stock bottom end, lowered compression by having a thicker headgasket and stiffer clutch springs. Then it’s all in the tune that’s gonna make sure the bike runs forever Here in Sweden we’ve been building bikes with 200-320hp with just these simple changes for over 30 years and they run forever. My K5 turbo with 270whp with stock internals, no intercooler etc etc has been running since 2017 Nice to see a Yamaha turbo, not something you see very often. So props to that and you’ll learn more along the way if you keep building more turbo bikes in the future. Keep it up, but keep it simple for these kind of builds 👍🏼
All of that may be relevant, but as we mention it started with a completely blown motor from running 13PSI. So rather than rebuild a stock motor, we went and did the upgrades properly to handle higher HP and eventually more boost.
for 230, yeah, but the original owner blew the motor. They wouldve needed new pistons and rods anyways. Might as well get forged and lower compression pistons since youre already in there. The build has potential to be making way more power but its sick either way
I love the way bike came out with kit and stretched look But I’m also interested in auxiliary lights on the bike if it’s possible let me know what kind of fork mount you used or where I can get them thanks 🙏
Love the look of this build and how it turned out! My one question is, why couldnt the intercooler be placed under the bike so as to make for a cleaner look? Would that not have been feasible? Either way, its badass!
I don't doubt it could be done, but he is already losing clearance with the extended swing arm. Add an intercooler beneath it, and you will inevitably smash it riding on the street.
this is the most ugly ass intercooler wallmart addon ive ever seen, dont care if the turbo is good or not when you have a james bond casino case intercooler next to your leg. only right side looks decent
Blue mine up with extreme creations kit as well just finished up rebuilding and upgrading it. prior to melt down was 215hp 110 lb/ft tq. after rebuild was 188hp 100 lb/ft tq ( injector limited ) put new injectors in it last year and worked out a active wide band with FT ECU so it can adjust on the fly up to 5 percent. waiting to take it down to get tuned again. side note this was all on pump 91 octane. 91 being only reliable non ethanol at 95% or more of northern USA. was thinking of E85 but can never get true E85 and limited places. In hopes to get to 220-230 at wheel and call it good as me and cycle only weight 550-560lbs. was insane at 215hp (150mph wheelies ( Re geared )) ( melted as leaned out ) was little lacking at 188hp ( no power wheelie past 120mph ) running 11:1 compression 7.5lbs of boost. 188hp was good daily but left wanting more and only needed injectors as throttle by wire only had 100 percent at 7500 rpm and cliff to it and dove off it ( reminded me a 80's turbo cars )
@@PurposeBuiltMoto indeed will half to update when I get it tuned with the new 830cc injectors this year. was thinking double radiator and air to water intercooler. will wait to see if heat is a problem with charge temp ( had no problem at 7.5lbs last year )

Man, I want to do a turbo build so badly. I'm completely rebuilding an 07 GSX-R 750 and I want to turbo it with the headwork, possibly coating the piston sideskirts, mains, piston pin with DLC & cerkote the top of the pistons, but I just can't afford a set of forged pistons & rods. What I want to build: I want to build a bike around a VFR1200 engine, do some headwork, wrap a trellis frame around it in candy lime green metallic, single side swingarm and chain driven, not shaft like the VFR's, get some camshafts from Webcams made, throw on a thin head gasket to bump up the compression to 14.0:1, run an AEM Ethanol rated fuel pump, ethanol sensor, fuel injectors, ECU with atleast 2 maps (93 & E-85.) That V4 engine sounds so sweet and is easily capable of 200+hp @ 1200cc's. And if I had money to dump into it, I'd put a turbo on it & run a methanol injection system. You ought to look into running water/meth injection instead of that heavy cumbersome intercooler.
Its a gorgeous build, but the reality is Highway Patrol would have a field day with it. I'm not sure redirecting the dump pipe into the exhaust will suddenly make it legal.
