Great vid, actually watched all of it on 1x in like three days 😅 I started playing with BBS and BBG because of your vids! Not sure if I'll join CPL yet, but I can definitely see improvement in my games thanks to your guides! As a civ veteran and a strategy game veteran, it really takes diving deep into niche hidden mechanics and hyper optimized strategies to improve.
I don't play multiplayer, so curious questions: why not try fabricate scandal on your first spy? Too risky? And could you have been a little quicker to pillage some more of Saladin with curassiers before Canada gobbled up everything? (there were a couple turns after the alliance expired.) Didn't have the troops yet to take the cities though to be fair.
i believe the spy question is due to the fact he will get envoys for them through other means, and its better to just get diplomatic visibility bonus for war than taking a risk at envoy loss
Hey Herson! How about a complete beginners guide to cpl? I'm quite new to the game and online multiplayer is extremely frustrating. Would like to play with the CPL people for better games but couldn't find my way into a game last night.
@@FlyingThunder wouldn't it be great to have this simplified for the community in a step by step, though? I mean, I read through it all, but it would be so much easier and less intimidating seeing it in a video presented by Herson. Dude is easily the best civ streamer I've watched in my 6 weeks of civ.
you can watch his civ 6 guides playlist by clicking on his channel and going to playlists. he has a lot of videos that help for gameplay, as for the rules and whatnot asking more experienced people in the discord or just being active there in general would greatly help you learn the social aspects
If your question is about the pathway to get in the cpl tournaments, i am on the same boat. It's frustrating playing for 10 minutes and half of the lobby already quit with no reasonable motive. At least, with a championship/tournament, i can play a real gane
could you do a video where you break down classical era gameplay (turn 30-70)? I always seem to keep pace with your stat lines and hit the first golden but then by turn 70 im way behind, and i struggle to hit the second golden way more often than the 1st
I’d love to know his reasoning too. I do know both give money. I also know with the financial advisor, you get the extra trade capacity for having both harbor and commercial hub.
The governor Reyna has a promotion in BBG which grants an additional trade route capacity if the city she's assigned to has both a market and a lighthouse. I only ever build a harbor and a commercial hub in the same city once per game max, and only in Reyna's city.
Id love a breakdown video on how he does it. I swear he has like 200 production cities on turn 60 ish. It's mental. HOW!? I feel like I'm just settling my 5th city and have like 25 production in my capital by that point.
Civ 6 uses a global happiness system compared to the local happiness system so a nonproductive city on the tundra that is occupied takes a big chunk of happiness and cuts into productivity of the good cities
There's a known bug in Civ 6 multiplayer where, during a relobby, a player will load into the game, then get booted back to the loading screen, and then have their game crash. This is known as "double-loading", and can only ever occur when a player loads into the game significantly faster than the host. In order to avoid this, it's good for players with fast PCs who aren't hosting the lobby to throttle them so that they always load in after the host. One of the easiest ways to throttle a PC's load time in Civ 6 is to simply open a resource-intensive game, such as Elden Ring, while loading into Civ 6 during relobbies.
The anonymous thing is awesome. Super exciting. Is there a way to play with an increasing turn timer? as in, it starts shorter and as age progresses it increases?
The game counts as a ranked game for the purposes of the FFA leaderboards, so getting 1st rewards more rating points than getting 3rd does. In the context of the actual tournament, though? There's no difference, as 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place all advance to the finals just the same.
He got a 30 day suspension for the following reason: Displaying a substantial pattern of unnatural scouting that results in finding huts and city-states in a way that indicates knowledge of the entire map. Opportunity for appeal will be allowed but if the appeal is not granted a permaban will be issued and all stats and records will be removed..
Hey Herson, what if someone decides to cheese religion (there are no other religious civs), and that someone is far from you, and they are getting closer and closer to victory (no one cares for some reason), what should you do? No prophets left btw
Even better would be to use the Serpentine System. In this case, it would be: 1, 6, 7, 12, 13, 18, 19, 24, 25, 30 2, 5, 8, 11, 14, 17, 20, 23, 26, 29 3, 4, 9, 10, 15, 16, 21, 22, 27, 28 Edit: the wikipedia article: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serpentine_system

From what I understand, by using 1 tech overflow technique, he gets to those super important techs in the same amount of time as he would have if he beelined, but he gets more techs in that time. Since he's going for science victory and he'll have to research those techs anyways, this allows him to shave off some turns by getting through those small techs while waiting for the bigger techs

the more cities you have the more amenities you need. sometimes its better to raze

Why do you keep saying that you've "closed Elden Ring" whenever you re-lobby? What does that do?
There's a known bug in Civ 6 multiplayer where, during a relobby, a player will load into the game, then get booted back to the loading screen, and then have their game crash. Yes theres a setting in lobby creation for either the standard timer, dynamic timer (what you described), and no timer

honestlly, i think drums of war would have been more value then reform of the coinage, just because of the prod bonus
dont you think gold is better than +4-5 production
Is there any advantage to getting first, rather than just qualifying?
