With this last special Segura has joined the comedy elite. He’s now up there with Chappelle, Louie CK, Bill Burr… there’s basically a handful of ‘em working today who will go down as among the greatest of all time. Of course, Chappelle is in a league all his own.
Chappelle was better in the early 2000s, not sure he still has the same zest as back then honestly. He's trying to be all controversial on purpose now and back then he did it by accident, it's just not the same. That was lightning in a bottle and he never did quite recreate that.
Chappelle's comedic greatness is an objective reality. I say he's even funnier now...now that he's settled into his personality and with his finger on the societal pulse like nobody else.
I think its might not be a coincidence that two of the best comedians on the planet: Tom and Nate Bargatze look like they both went to the same personal trainer and wardrobe stylist possibly assigned by Netflix? I haven't looked into it but if you flip between specials you will see their latest ones they look amazing - in a similar way.
