Doj pay issues is likely due to attorneys the doj hires the largest number of attorneys in government. However, the government will NEVER be able to match the private sector with pay. The benefit of being a government attorney is no billable hours, a high likelihood you'll make it home for dinner, have more time for your family (when you are not in trial ), 12 weeks for parental leave (after.one year of federal service) and oh, the public service component... to service / represent the United States of America. Despite all of that, it's i understand why some federal attorney have an issue with pay caps (pay under 200k) when they could make twice that outside if they wanted to and take leave whenever they wantes.if they were outside of government.

I just want a simple GS-13 Step 1 (DC locality) and I'll be set. (IT). So many people are focused on $$ in this area. I simply want the long-term benefits for my family. That is what's important to me.

I was applying for GS9...but my private sector (and military - before retirement) was GS13. But, there are so few GS13 positions you can "walk into"...they look for seasoned candidates...in their agency. I'm going to figure out the process and success will occur!

I was wondering bc if you were going to mention the VA since the SSR will kick in soon. The avg salary increase is $18k for 2210 and a couple other job series. Good content Armand!

Thank you for the content. I'm wondering what the the transition from FV (FAA) to GS pay would look like?
There are a lot of good opportunities in FAA to start but concerned if one would be set back going FAA to get experience at good pay and then transition to a career that has GS compensation.

      Thank you for watching.
If you transition from FV to GS you should be able to maintain your salary if looking for a lateral move. FV-H is around GS-12 and FV-I is similar to a GS-13 in pay. FAA has plenty of "Excepted Service" positions so that could present a minor obstacle if looking for a competitive service job.
Bottom line, you can still transition to GS in the future.

The good thing about this content is that it’s niche and way more valuable. Not everyone is looking at this. Work on your marketing towards vets to govt.
