I am genuinely INCENSED that I instinctively did not chain one when I figured out for myself how to crochet as a child, was (forcefully) taught the habit of chaining one, when I formally learned, and am now unlearning. Whyyyyyy is it ever encouraged 😭

hi, if i use this method i will do also straight edges? becuse you have video about straight edges too. your work is smooth and straight here
Hi just discovered your channel. This video is very helpful. This might be a silly or confusing question: if the pattern begins with a chain 14 and uses the old method of turning and inserting your hook in the second chain from the hook where you end up with 13 stitches going forward, using your method should you start with a chain 13?
Yes exactly! Or you could follow the pattern for the first row and then continue with this method for the rest of the rows :)
Will this work if your on moss stitch where you miss the first stitch and crochet in the second stitch?

Yes! I don’t have any videos about this but there are tons of videos on YT about joining crochet squares and different ways to do it.
What was the point of a turning chain? Clearly, we never needed it😢
