I had these growing up, we’re called the Gil-Zeros, first ever low top signature shoe (about a year or two before the Kobe 4s released) they were really nice and felt natural, be interesting to see how they feel with boost instead of adiprene.
I've been playing in these and for some reason they make me feel like I can make everything. It might just be the outrigger. Everything else is fine for me. The cushion is meh though.
It’s because it gives you the clutchness of agent 0 himself.
There is boost in the heel the formation tech is amazing!! Break it in and you’ll enjoy it one of the best adidas models of all time
I had a adidas crazy shadow 2. Which had similar traction pattern and characteristics as the white part of the outsole of that gil boost restomod. the rubber lasted for more than a year of continuous use a mix of outdoor and indoor use maybe 60/40 outdoor over indoor. That wave that is more inside the rubber is a durable set up
Sent mine back. Loved the way they looked, but was experiencing serious durability issues with the plastic shank and Formotion pods. Was disappointed because I loved these back in the day.
I had the original Gil Zeros when the first released in 2006 and I've Been playing a long time and I knew the specs of the Gil so I went up half a size and put in the hefe luxx insoles to increase step in comfort and impact protection. Love the materials and the look. The Gil Zero was the first signature to debut as low cut. Not Jordan's or Kobe's those all debuted as mids and hi tops. So getting this model you are in possession of history. 😉
And the first rounded heel way ahead of Kyrie

my dad gifted me the og back in the day, i wore them until the rubber outsole worn out. even on outdoors i wore them and they perform very good on clean courts. 😁
These are amazing for me only problem I’ve had is the lacing can dig into your ankle sometimes but you don’t notice while playing can also fix the lacing to you liking
Got a pair of Gil Boost in the classic Wizards colorway. Absolute 🔥
I can always wait till it goes on sale to grab a pair. They were amazing back then. They need to bring back a restomod crazy 8.

Those pods were on the tmac series like the Tmac 6. It was weird at first but once you get used to it, it’s not that bad.

Love this shoe! I had a homie of mine who was real nice on Varsity rock these, and his game was similar to Gil's long range, and getting buckets haha. I got these in his 60 point colorway, but am disappointed Adidas only put Boost in the heel of the shoe. Guess I might try one of those Heffeluxx boost insoles *shrugs*

I remember original Gilbert Arenas shoe did not have those Nike-Shox type pods. it has a regular full rubber outsole.

Adidas just released a model with mesh instead of leather, that white based colorway with orange hints.
