Some ideas for a surplus of apple butter: swirl some into quick breads, muffins, coffee cakes, etc.; mix it with cream cheese and a touch of maple syrup to use as a filling for cinnamon rolls, shortbread sandwich cookies, etc.; use it with meat dishes such as pork, chicken, etc.; thin it down, add a little honey for flavor, and heat it up for a hot spiced cider drink in winter.

I would add apple butter to cooked oatmeal in place of sugar and milk. It made a warm apple pie like breakfast. It is also good as a topping to pancakes or waffles. I really enjoy your podcasts.

We pour apple butter in the bottom of our cast iron skillet (with regular melted butter) before pouring in the batter for a Dutch baby - makes a caramel apple type Dutch baby

I also use tubs from Dollar Tree or Dollar General and add fabric handles to them to lift up... Put them in your freezer and can better organize what you have and then make a freezer inventory list to show what's in each tub and jeep it by the freezer so that you can mark off each item(s) you take out..

About tea, Ahem 😂 I've mad tea the same way that mama taught me. Bags, steep in boiling water and pour in jug and add water to fill, 43 years! In the last 2 yrs I decided I wanted a stronger tea, so I boil a gallon of water with a family size tea bag and no water and it is sooo delicious!!
Also thin out some apple butter and use as syrup for waffles or pancakes. Also put a spoonful or two and add to cooking waffles or pancakes kinda like a mcgriddle. Blessings y'all!

I like to cook a few eggs into oatmeal and then add a big spoonful of apple butter on top of it in my bowl! We also use it as a yummy spread inside cinnamon rolls in place of the traditional butter, cinnamon and sugar.

I definitely need to inventory my freezers. I did my pantry when I bought some new shelving a couple of weeks ago. I was shocked at the amount of chicken stock I found while I was re-organizing.

Also I've adopted Shelbys, from The Queens Cabinet, method of keeping up with my freezer hoard, lol, seems like it. Use a tablet of graph paper and write down every item and count by pulling a slash. When used just put another slash to make an "x".
Has worked really well and I highly recommend this method.

We prioritize local and organic for a similar family size and have about the same budget, minus saving for a beef 😅 we also order from Azure. So lots of similarities. We also have to get gluten free, which pinches our budget even more since I can’t just whip up sourdough as a side (though I wish!!). So you’re not alone at all in budgeting.

I use all of my fruit items, jellies, jams, butters and just canned chunks, on winter time hearty bfasts. Things like steel cut oats, oatmeal, baked oatmeal and occasionally over my homemade yogurt dolloped on top of those breakfast meals. Cuts down on adding sweetener to those things.

I too have an excess of apple butter and use in with the pancake batter, waffle batter, inside cinnamon rolls, add some to icing to flavor it, add to cream cheese to flavor for bagels. Maybe I should do a video on my channel on ways to use up since I still have an entire shelf full of apple butter.

You can use applebutter instead of half the fat in a cake recipe. Just swap it 1 on 1 (in weight). You'll probably want to reduce the sugar in the recipe too. Don't decrease more, because it can make your cake too dry that way. It's especially great in an apple cake with extra bits of apple in.
