Such a lovely episode. I love seeing your home both inside and out. From flowers and plants to cosy sitting areas and lovely curtains and art; it is the perfect home for a lively growing family. Thank you for making these videos and enriching our lives as you go. p s I can only imagine how beautiful your home must smell when you are baking bread!
Every time I watch one of your videos, I’m blown away by your talents. The food you cook is always so wholesome and delicious looking. I just love pumpkin everything so this was special to watch. Random comment, but Lisa you are in such great shape after having 8 children 🍁
This channel is really encouraging us to get back to our old ways, after 10 years of homesteading we fell into the convenience trap. Definitely has not paid off one bit. We are turning around and going back to our original homestead life.
Lisa you are the reason I started making sourdough and so grateful to your teachings. What an inspiration you are to the younger generation and hoping that they realize how valuable your lessons are for them. I myself at 60 years old and a wife and mom of three I am still learning. God Bless!!
Lisa, you live a wonderful life, I can only DREAM of such a blessing. When I watch ALL your videos, there is a PEACE that surrounds me, I fully breathe it in. Keep up all your hard work Hon, YOU are blessing MANY people like me, in so many different ways. MANYBlessings to you & your precious family.
I made the pumpkin shaped loaf the other day using the cinnamon raisin it turned out amazing for the first time doing it I’m making another tomorrow morning 😊🤤
You are doing everything the right way , my grandparents lived like this , I give you a lot of credit for all your hard work and you're teaching your children how to survive without the grocery store , good for you
❤ At work I dream of being home cause it’s officially soup and bread baking season! My daughter lit the fireplace for the first indoor fire of autumn 2024 and the smell gives me all the feels. 😊 It’s raining and the leaves are falling, but we plan to go on a weekend vacation to enjoy the height of the color changing leaves before I’m spending most of my waking hours in the kitchen. I’m hoping to use this autumn/winter to store up home baked cookies, bread, etc. for eating during the summer when I hate to turn on the oven.
Hi Lisa 🌷 I was doing my housework today & I thought to myself 😁 I hope Lisa uploads another video soon... we can't get enough of them. But I do appreciate how long they can take & you have a beautiful family to take of at the same time 🙏 I've got some more rhubarb I need to pick + freeze the weekend. That's if the squirrel doesn't help himself first !! My rhubarb is about 3 foot long ! He walks off with it like a pipe in his mouth 😅❤ xx
I’m falling in love with the season of fall as I get older. IThis season is so cozy. Your content is inspiring and aesthetically pleasing. I am a mother of two and I am actively looking for cooking inspiration.
Can you do a video on how you juggle day to day tasks and at the same time home school your kids plus edit videos? Would love more behind the scenes/ raw and real ❤
I am so going to try fermented jalapeños! Thank you for showing how easy it is. How beautiful to see your blooming flowers still. I dont think everything in the fall needs to be orange, yellow, and brown. Enjoy those blossoms while they last!
Good morning Lisa! I always enjoy your videos! They are so peaceful and relaxing! I love your property! I’m looking forward to Fall! God bless your sweet and precious family! 😀❤️🙏🏻
Lovely Fall vlog!🎃🍁🍂 Your home flows from ur kitchen, vegetable garden, chickens, flowers! The pumpkin bread looks delish! You are an Artist! Thank you 4/ sharing!❤
I love it! Never a dull moment on the farm.😊I made pumpkin butter once and on hot biscuits it tasted like a pumpkin pie! My mouth is watering while watching you cooks yours. I love harvest time. There are still flowers, veggies are still coming in, and saving it for winter is my all time favorite thing to do. In fact, I canned my own pumpkin syrup last year for my lattes. I got the idea from my local coffee shop that makes all their own syrups. Your pumpkin shaped bread was beautiful! It thrills my heart to watch how your channel touches the lives of so many! Thank you!
Oh major coffee envy! Yum. And I'm thankful for today's sponsor. When you started talking about it, I stopped the video and immediately went on MaryRuth's website to order. I have been looking for natural remedies for hair loss. What had been working in the past for me is no longer working. Hope this helps. But gee whiz, just about everything is on backorder. Glad I didn't hesitate.
When I started sourdough over a year ago now, I tried to read and learn online without photos or anything my starter had bubbles but was not ready yet my 1st bread wasn’t bread but was a flat rock 😂 I kept trying for a bit but then gave up and left my starter for a few months, I actually got back into bread with dry yeast… and thought to try again with sourdough and I’m so glad I did, I looked into videos this time and that is how I found you, and learnt so much and just how wrong my starter was I spent over a week to fix it up and now know how to make great bread and literally everything sourdough, I still see so many people over complicate sourdough online which is really intimidating especially when you’re just starting, when it is so easy
Thanks for sharing that with us! So many quit too soon...sticking with sourdough really is the key. As with most new skills it may feel difficult at the beginning ....but stick to it and you will understand and it will be like second nature.
Hi Lisa! I did notice the change in the editing of this video. It’s giving me British vibes! I like the soft lighting in your other videos from this past year with the voiceovers. Interesting to see you trying something new! Regardless of style, I’m a big fan, thanks for your encouraging content, always filled with gratitude for the beauty of family, and what every season brings 💜
Have you ever tried making pumpkin butter with puree cinnamon maple syrup and chia seeds? So good!! I use chia to also make a jam with the blackberries that grow on our property. It’s amazing!
Always beautiful bread. Always fun and lovely videos. Great harvest with all those peppers!! They look so pretty all in the basket. It was great to see you ferment the jalapeños. I love your flowers too. They look lovely on your table.
Lisa, we got to see your presentation at the Homesteading Conference in Marshfield. You have the most beautiful complexion ever. Looking forward to seeing you there again next year! Thank you for for letting us know about Mary Ruth's supplements.
Hi Lisa thank you for this video i am learning how to make pumpkin bread this is my first time makeing it i will let you know how it turns out. Fall is soon to be here the leaves are turning color a bright red and orange i love it. Soup season and beef stew i§ coming in just a week maybe two will you be showing us some new soup dishes i would love that. Take care Lisa until next time . Gypsy from Michigan.
I love this time of year! Loved to try the pumpkin bread, which looked delicious! Looking forward to putting up my pumpkin, I do pumpkin purée, which is great to make pies and cakes. I must try making sauerkraut, my dad used to make it, so much better than store bought.
I seen you had alot of green tomatoes left in your garden. There is a family that lives in the Appalachia mountains and they pickled there green tomatoes. I love pickled things like asparagus, cauliflower and peppers so I thought about doing that next year! Just a thought!😃❤❤❤❤
Ahh Lisa! I love this so much and I love seeing all these homemaking videos. Thank you for always sharing your day to day life and it’s so relaxing to watch. I can’t wait for more videos like this and you’re so fun to watch. Ilysm and I hope you’re having an amazing day 💕
Lovely video, thinking I may have to try the pumpkin sourdough, not sure if I will make it fancy like a pumpkin, but would definitely like to try the recipe.
Hi Lisa! I know this could be a big ask but I would love (and I’m sure many others) to have access to some books that you would recommend somewhere on your website! Maybe about ferments, motherhood, simple living, traditional skills. Just a thought! Thank you for sharing snippets of your life. It’s always an inspiration
I have a whole amazon storefront with books I own...here is the link..www.amazon.com/shop/farmhouseonboone/list/2F2RU99KGDJSU?ref_=aip_sf_list_spv_s_ofs_mixed_d
If I do not flour the heck out of the towel thing that goes in the banneton my sourdough refuses to come out. Also I’ve tried doing it without that towel thing with tons of flour and it will not come out unless I pull on it. I see so many ppl that don’t use it. I’m thinking I should start reducing the amount of water
What a shame to cut into that beautiful pumpkin shaped bread! Lol!! It is indeed gorgeous, and looks so yum!! You rock Miss Lisa! Have a blessed fall season ❤
I made pumpkin purée today. I was wondering, do I have to water bath them before storing? Can I immediately store in cabinet? Thanks for the inspiration and help 😊
I don't can mine...I just roast and put in jars and refrigerate and use within a couple days. If you want to actually can your pumpkin I would look up how to do that.
Loved this video. Did you use a regular pumpkin or a pumpkin pie pumpkin for the puree? I’m new to homesteading (started in May!) and have so much to learn. We started by cutting all processed foods & only ate local grass fed & finished meat, organic fruit, & raw dairy. With your help I slowly learned sourdough and am pretty confident in my sourdough bakes now! Im starting to learn how to make other things from scratch, like chocolate (this weekend!) or pumpkin puree, so we can expand our diet a bit here and there with organic whole foods from home. The internet all says it’s best to use pumpkin pie pumpkins for baking but I don’t trust the internet over homesteaders for these things 😂
Hi Lisa, I really love the pumpkin spice late you made, it looks amazing. Here in Australia we unfortunately don't have seasonal drinks like that and I want to try one. OMG you cut up the jalapeños without gloves I did that once and never again, my eyes burnt so bad I wanted to take them out haha. The pumpkin bread looked fabulous! We have just come into spring and soon to be summer so it's going to start warming up. So far it's still so cold here. Happy fall to you, enjoy!
Lisa, you're brave in not putting baking sheets under those fermenting jars! I learned this summer the hard way😅 I harvested 8lbs of tomatoes yesterday. This video came at a perfect time! Also, what would you do with an abundance of beets?
Another lovely video - if you have a moment, can you tell me what your working island counter "top" is made of? Thinking about putting a new top on ours. Thanks!!
I can't say I have any tips...I use a solid bar of dish soap and wash or use a scrub brush...whatever it needs. Then I rinse them in really hot water and let air dry on a dish rack
I’m thinking you’re videos are too short Lisa 😆 Obviously I’m being selfish because when I take a break from the kitchen I relax watching them and some other favorites. I know you’re a busy person 😊
Such a lovely episode. I love seeing your home both inside and out. Nothing like homemade bread in the oven to make everyone happy and give a cozy feel!

You’re kitchen and gardening videos are as always my favorite!
P.S. I don’t wear gloves either to cut jalapeños and I pick wild raspberries never mind the poison ivy. Your body does get immune!!

Another great video. Love the piano music. You make everything so beautiful. God Bless your beautiful family. 😊
I wonder if a hearty beef stew would pair well with the pumpkin bread. The savoury sweet combination might hit the spot.
It would probably be good...let us know if you try it!
