Thank you for the review - I have used the ISO REGEN now for more than a year after being impressed with the original REGEN. A clear step up and makes listening to my Holo Audio Spring DAC Level 2 very enjoyable indeed. The differences you describe between with/without ISO REGEN are what makes it a great product!
My system: PS Audio Gain Cell DAC - two m700 mono blocks also from PS Audio - Volumio Primo as streamer - two towers from Pioneer (Andrew Jones) and 2 subs. Today I received a USB cable from Curious Cables. I can't believe the difference it made! Only one good USB cable. The one I had from Pangea was not bad, but this one is a lot better. I am now waiting for ISO REGEN which is coming tomorrow. I can't wait! Thank you for your videos.
Based on your recommendations, I purchased one. It stopped working i.e. stopped receiving signals from my iPad. And wouldn’t play any music after just two days. I’m not sure if other people had liability issues with this unit but I sure did on top of that they didn’t have one to give me as a replacement. I do agree, though the sound production was remarkable. My only problem was it lasted less than six hours.
@@TheHansBeekhuyzenChannel I did watch your video, I watch all your videos as soon as they come out, but it was not 100% clear if there was another way in. But sadly Uptone doesn’t have any to ship no retailer has any.
Hans, as usual a great review. I wonder if you would consider a Part 2 review using the ISO REGEN with a standard SMS-200 and a Sonore microRendu (if you still have them) as I'm sure a lot of your followers have already invested in these and probably a quality linear power supply. It would an interesting and valuable test to see what if any improvements the ISO REGEN can make. Now, I'm not suggesting it would come up to an SMS-200 Ultra but would be curious to see how close it could get to it.
i got the ifi Nano iUSB 3.0 and with my Mojo and Audio-gd R2R 11 i have noticed no improvement whatsoever. in fact after i plugged it into the chain i noticed a new layer of noise added to the background (when no music playing) so i was dumbfounded for a while until i realized that my foobar2000 output is, by mistake, not using the ASIO plugin, i set the ASIO back ip and this new noise was gone. since then I have tested with various headphones, speakers and fdacs and in each case did not detect any improvement from iusb 3.0 whatsoever.
Keep searching for other problems for it should really give an improvement, provided the rest of the equipment is of sufficient quality and set up properly.
He did, but that’s not what I hear. He also said that he prefers the toslink input which is strange for if jitter is no issue why then the difference between inputs?
RF noise might be the culprit, that's what he said when he was asked why there is such a big difference between lower end AK players and higher end one's when using the toslink output. Also less processing power can mean less RF noise before the signal is converted to optical.
its a well known fact that different transports sounds better than others with mojo especially. My previous note 5 sounded alot better than my moto G connected to it both using usb audio player pro.
Can you explain me how, since the power and data signals on the Chord Mojo is supposedly isolated? My system is quite simple: iPhone -> DAC -> Headphone. Thanks!
Another excellent review! Thanks! I m not sure if I understood but Considering that you have galvanic isolation between your nuc and your ISO regen why do you need a linear power supply for the NUC?
It is the galvanic isolation and the asynchronous data transport of the network that both reduces the need for an audiophile power supply considerably.
Hello Hans, Another great video as ever! I am looking for ways to improve the audio signal coming from my Innous Zen Mini MKII streamer to my Chord Qutest DAC via USB cable. Given that the USB input on Qutest is galvanically isolated, technically speaking, would a USB regenerator device such as Uptone ISO REGEN, SOTM tx Ultra USB improve the sound quality further? I am aware of the fact that you have not done the test for the Qutest but from a technical point of view, is there any point in investing in a USB performance improvement device whereas your current DAC already offers a galvanically isolated USB input? Thank you.
Hello Hans, I'm using the ISO Regen and sMS-200 ultra both powered by LPS-1's from Uptone. I'm using other LPS's to power the LPS-1's. I'm also using a Mutec REF10. May I suggest that you do a review on this REF10. If you can't get your hand on a REF10, you can barrow mine.
Thank you for your reviews Hans. If I can't afford the ultracap power supply with the ISO Regen, but want better than the cheap one that comes with it, where can I find a suitable power supply? Would the IFI Audio power supply at $49 work? The choices are 5V or 9V, where as the Regen recommends 6-8V range.
Thank you so much for these videos. I'm a music lover, but I do not really understand much about electronics. so I find them hugely interesting. Would you expect an ISO REGEN to make a significant difference even with an audiophile music streamer? I have a relatively modest amplifier (NUPrime IDA-8) connected to an Audioaanzee reference flow streamer. Would I still benefit from the ISO REGEN?
Hi Hans, my unique source: flacs from my laptop direct to cobalt dac. to upgrade I was thinking in the allousbridge because my system is similar to your setup3. now Im thinking maybe is better a usb reconditioner like this. Is there any difference? Am I misunderstanding any important concept? 🙏
Would you recommend the iso regen in my system consisting of the sotm sps-209 ultra and Mytek Brooklyn? Would this improve the sound qualityof my system #1? Third or fourth time watching this review. Did you claim that the sps-200 Ultra does not need the iso regan ? Would it be redundant?
Hans, good to see you reviewing the ISO Regen - I've heard from multiple sources it really is a great product, and pairs well with the IFI Micro in a chain. In regards to USB reconditioners, have you ever tried/tested the PSA Lanrover? If so, did you have any opinion/comparison on it's quality to the ISO Regen?
I haven't tried and I was wrong before but the difference between the standard sms-200 and the Ultra is huge. I would rather spend my money on an Ultra in stead of a standard sms-200 plus an ISO REGEN.
Hi Hans as usual a super review I was wondering if such devices like iso regen would improve the sound from a source like an aurender n100h music server ? Have you been able to try any of the usb reclockers / conditioner with a music server like the aurender ?
Hi hans, i use a (asynchrone) jkspdif mk3 usb converter between my laptop and ps audio dl3 dac. i have two questions: 1. is a galvanised usb hub an upgrade to my non - usb powered dac? 2. Would a device like the isoregen, or usb regen (or other jitterbugs/galvanased usb hub) be an complementary to the spdif converter, or would it be a choice between them? Thanks!

Hi Hans, there are some great reviews on Audiobyte Hydra Z USB/SPDIF converter, and Black dragon DSD DAC. It would be great to hear Your opinion!
When you put it in the chain with the Ultra did you feed the Regen with a USB?
I really can’t remember.
@@TheHansBeekhuyzenChannel is the only way to feed it by USB?
I checked. It can only be fed USB and outputs USB. You could have seen this in the video if you had cared to watch.

should i upgrade from uptone uspcb adapter to an audioquest carbon usb cable which one do you think offers the best SQ ?
That's hard today. Just but the cable from a retailer that lets you return it within reasonable time and try it out.
Hey Hans, if I am using a Chord Mojo just on it’s own batteries, does a USB regen helps? Thanks!
Yet it will, provided the rest of the stereo is of sufficient quality to reproduce the quality improvement.
Can you explain me how, since the power and data signals on the Chord Mojo is supposedly isolated? My system is quite simple: iPhone -> DAC -> Headphone. Thanks!
There is more than just the power supply. It's also the reshaping that counts.
