    My only gripe with the sink like that, smaller cornered faucet, is that there really isn't any room to do anything with the water, turn it on and try to wash your hands and half the water splashes out onto the counter. I wish they'd stick the faucet further into the basin so you can use it without making a mess, sincerely a cougar owner with a sink like that.

    Hi Josh- I prefer the longer videos. I generally know early on if I'm interested in the model you're showcasing. If it's something I like, I appreciate your honest and thorough review as well as your thoughtful opinions. If it's something I'm not interested in, I can always skip ahead or move on to the next video. Truth be told, I almost always watch the entire video regardless. I can't say that about other channels I follow.

    If I ever replace my Arctic Fox, I would definitely consider this model. Manufacturers still have their heads in the sand when it comes to lithium batteries, inverters and solar. With lithium there is no reason to build the unit with space for a whopping 2 batteries and then put them in a non heated compartment. RVs, especially high end fifth wheels like this one that are made for serious travel, should be built with the batteries mounted internally with the ability to option a large 3000 watt inverter. I did this with my fifth wheel. My entire generation compartment is empty. The only item in the basement is my Victron Multiplus ii inverter. Just downright shameful what all of the manufacturers are doing.

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I see things moving that way but with the majority of owners still park camping the need for it isn't _quite_ there yet. I do feel it will continue to swing that direction, though.
      I actually wonder if there's not need to make a boondocking-focused version of models and then a park-focused version of models given the dynamically different way they can be used

I consider any time to obtain information to be valuable, especially on an item that I have to spend more than a days pay to purchase! So IMO, it's more about quality instead of quantity....and on that front, I think you provide some of the best in the business! Have a couple of in-laws that own Montana's, and they are both very satisfied with them. They both do more extended seasonal camping, so I can see why they want more of a model to park for a longer period of time.....I hope to get to that point myself one day. As always, Thank You for taking (any) time to put forth these videos; I think they are valuable information for anyone considering an RV in their lives! Thanks again! ~Lou

  • @rosemarydoran9907
    @rosemarydoran9907 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    This is nice for a shorter fifth wheel. They did a good job of getting almost everything in it that you would want for even full-timing. There are a couple things that I am not as fond of with this model. I think the living room dining and kitchen area is all fantastic. The bathroom is great except for the shower. I love the fact that it has a one piece fiberglass shower as I think those are great for minimizing leaks but with the built-in shower seat taking up so much of the floor space it would not work for me being a disabled person. I typically need to have a chair that faces the shower head and I don't know that I would be able to fit a chair in there and be able to shut the shower doors. I would be willing to give up some of the other bathroom space in order to have just a standard square shower or even a small slight rectangular shower. I think if you wanted a full-time in this RV having just a combo washer dryer space would probably be a disadvantage based upon what I have heard about RV laundry setups. I think if you were going to take it out on a couple of say longer two or three week trips a year then a combo unit would be fine as you probably wouldn't be doing a ton of laundry all the time. The other thing that I don't like in the bedroom is the lack of hanging closet space. I just think they flat got it wrong. I would have liked to have seen perhaps a smaller front window and wider closets or even sacrifice the separate entrance to the bathroom and try to build in some closet space. Just my opinions as I prefer to hang clothes rather than fold them in drawers. They did do an excellent job of giving a lot of dresser drawer storage space I just didn't see a lot of hanging space to be found. I suppose if you weren't going to put a washer dryer combo in you could always put in a hanging rod in that space and perhaps turn that into some additional closet space. Just My opinions. Overall a very nice unit just a few things that don't work for my preferences.

    I have a 2020 295rl and I believe mine was one of the first models off of the line and I came to this conclusion because it was supposed to come with a whole house vac and this one did not. I love the floor plan and it is the perfect size. I have a 2011 GMC 2500HD duramax and I have airbags in the duramax and I installed a Reese Goosebox king pin and it is a great set up and tows much better the original king pin. None of my outlets have the orange/yellow tags so I don't know if they did not install it on the 2020. Lastly, they have a 3000lb tow hitch but no 4 pin trailer connection. In order to install a 4 pin connection you have to drop the rear belly to access the wires which is a big pain.

    Picked up my 295RL 3 weeks ago. I came out of a 41 foot toy hauler that was a total disaster. Something broke every time I took it out, and hopefully the Montana will be better. One of the things that we love is the front windshield. It brings in a ton of light and is awesome at night. The only thing that concerns me about this trailer is the china bomb tires that it comes with. I will be changing them out shortly with some Goodyears. I had my eyes opened on the cost of G rated tires though. They are not cheap, but you can’t put a price on safety. I plan on adding one more solar panel with a 2000 watt inverter. First trip coming up so we will see what happens.

    Must've had montana withdraw lol been 3 months. For being 34ft the amount of storage is amazing. Only thing with this one is the amount of weight on the drivers side of the unit I'd worry alittle with a washer/dryer in it. Only thing I think would stop people from buying is the hitch weight the solitude 2930rl is very popular for that reason. Nice unit tho👍👍
    P.S. sad to see the newer 281ck on dso kinda saw it coming tho, could've been something great with it being a foot longer or slapping a garage on the back could've been a good idea too

      The side to side balancing is a concern some folks voice but beyond the intentional engineering accounting for that and Given the 11,000ish pounds involved here i'm not sure the weight of a W/D unit that one person can pick up and move w/o assistance is going to make or break the balance.
      I heard rumor solitude might be phasing to 100% bed slides away from that 2930RL setup & leaving those closet slide layouts for reflection. I don't have confirmation of that currently though
      Didn't notice the 281CK was DSO. Thx for the extra eyes.
      I feel like it they would've allowed for alternative seating arrangements, then it would've had more of an opportunity. Forcing that lounge just didn't work for a lot of Montana-level clients I think

    I think a lot of women would prefer a full wall closet than an extra big window in the bedroom when it already has a big window.
    The 5th wheel designers that can make a short/shorter 5th wheel & still keep that full wall closet gets my money. It's not that hard to include.
    A couple or solo owner doesn't need an extra couch or bathroom, but the extra storage space is needed for everyday living.

    I heard Keystone trailers get soft spots at the entry door. Is that the case with their 5th wheels as well?
    Also, if the payload on 2007 Dodge Ram 2500 Diesel Laramie is 2200, is it safe to be pulling a fifth wheel with this 3/4 ton?
    Only 35,000 miles on this truck so I sort of hate to trade for a 1 ton.

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Each brand is made differently. It’s not a keystone thing - it’s related to the wear on a laminated floor that not all keystone use. This is something that was more common in older models.
      Check this one’s hitch weight vs your payload. Make you’re youre in the black with plenty of buffer for cargo and passenger weight

The odd thing is, if you open the second valve nothing will come out. Then close it, and then open the third and see gray water come out until it is empty. Then with the third valve open, now when you open the second valve, gray water will now come out. Anyone have an idea what is going on, or how I could get a pipping and valve diagram of the gray water system. This is very odd. I can not explain it. It is almost like a vent type thing.
