I like the table at counter height, it's good for food prep: putting together casseroles, making pies, cookies, etc, anything where you need to spread out. I wouldn't even use those stools, leave 'em in the garage. I come from a long line of people that eat in front of the tv, so wouldn't miss eating at dinette.
I really like the decor & layout of this unit.

I really like this model. Love the seating in the kitchen. It can be a work space and seating. Love that the tv isn’t right next to stove. Finally a good outdoor kitchen. I would want the 2nd air factory installed.

I really like how the area around the stove isn't cramped; there's room on both sides and above! Overall the RV layout is unique and different!

Speaking only for our household, there's something nice about sitting at the table for those few moments in the day. But what works for us isn't what other families choose. So it's nice to have the choice in this model.

I’m thinking ditch the dining area, and get get creative with the space behind the outdoor kitchen. Perhaps an office set up with a dedicated place to manage personal business and financial affairs that could also be used as a dining station if needed. Maybe even storage for shoes , pet accessories or outdoor wear. Also I appreciate the fact that you show the inside in travel mode. Thank you for that.

Man, I love love love this one. Did I mention that I love this one... I love the elevated bar/bench and throw in the outdoor kitchen (particularly the location of the outdoor kitchen not being at the back end of the unit) and its just a bonus for me. No island in the kitchen and I would trade that (extra length required) for a easier time running around any day. You could still use the table for prep space. We eat in the living room too, since our girls were in middle school. Would eat breakfast on the high top bar, but no table/dinette would work for me. I like the partially accessible fridge for travel. I think I would go with the queen bed and side stands. Full observation suite/security monitor is fantastic. Really like the GD 341RDS too, but I think this one would win out for me. It must be the blue smurf light in bathroom. 😉 Thanks nerd.

Hey Josh. I am really liking this layout because it is a nice alternative to a bunkhouse and good weight and pin weight. Couple of small things between the Eagle and the Reflection. I like the high table of the Eagle but I like the versatility of the Reflection. I love the wide counter of the Reflection between the table and the the love seat. Big mistake on the Reflection though, no window beside the love seat like the Eagle has. When your sitting there watching tv you want to be able to have a window to look out, not a wall. The Eagle nailed it with the televator and big window at the back. The Eagle has a better bedroom. With the side window beside the dresser enabling them to mount a TV on the wall front and centre to the bed. Totally better than the Reflection on that note.
Both the Reflection and the Eagle need 6 point auto level, even if it is just electric. I would add a set of electric stabilizers just ahead of the tires. This would make such a difference instead of having to add old school stabilizers by hand. And, they both need an auto wind up power cord.
Just my thoughts thanks keep up the good work.
Also, who else offers a layout like this with the weight class. I know I am asking a lot, but if they could shave a foot off the units that would be amazing too keep to 35 ton36 foot max.

I like the separated kitchen. Work areas don't overflow into each other. I don't like the table setup. Take out the table and put in cabinets along both walls in that corner with more counter top for more prep space. Maybe have the counter top facing the TV overhang a little and put a couple of bar stools there.

One of my favorite floorplans! But since you asked, there are a few changes i would make...
    1. I'm more in the market for a destination trailer, so i would want this floorplan in a destination trailer. Switch the fridge and oven locations because travel access doesn't matter so much in destination trailers.
    2. Put the dinette in a slide and have a high bar area behind the couch across from the tv.
    3. Put a desk in a slide opposite of the bed, Instead of the bedroom dresser.
Then it would be the perfect rv for me.
Edit: I like this jayco more than the reflection because of the dining area and less carpet.

I think the Jayco is Way better in two respects. First, the Tiny movable dining table, in the Grand Design, is useless for more than two people. And the Dining Ottoman, doesn't allow the space for the outside kitchen.
Make this a Third reason that the Jayco wins
---> the outside fridge is on an Inverter outlet. I been baffled for a while about why the medicine cabinet wasn't on solar.

I like this floor plan...a lot. Only minor quibble, if they had cut back the divider between the dinette and the den, it would have been easy to get by it even when closed up. Also, I would rather have a desk that goes over the outside kitchen, rather than the dinette. Or maybe another set of cabinets on top of the outside kitchen, so that you have even more storage, and some extra floor space in there. Just eat in front of the TV if it is nasty outside. If it is nice, eat outside.

    • @JoshtheRVNerd

I would like it if they turned the table so it over looks the theater seat, facing the TV with 2 bar stool / chairs. Solitude has a model similar to this. This model is also nice because you can utilize the table when on the road without having to extend slides. Jayco should offer this model in the North Point line-up.

  • @mgkleym
    @mgkleym ปีที่แล้ว +3

If this were mine I would put a desk in the door side hideabed slide. Its floor flush unlike the kitchen/sofa slide and it wouldn't require any modification unlike putting it where the dinet is.
Edit: We very rarely eat at our dining table at home. I don't see why a fifth wheel without a dinet wouldn't work for a lot of people. Between the living room and the potential to eat outside I think it would work just fine.

I don't mind the fixed dining bench, but those two stools on the other side? Ehhh...I don't know about that. I guess side to side space is at a bit of a premium and maybe normal chairs would seat you too low, considering they had to raise the fixed bench and table... I think I'd find some different stools things.

I absolutely think there should be some rvs with no traditional dining table. Me and my wife have looked for some and they are few and far between. Most people are going away from that type of dining, and especially if your ring it's not hard to set up a table outside if you need. Having the space removing the dining would be a game changer in a lot of rvs.

This is a very nice fifth wheel, bigger than I need or want for the way I camp, however if RV park or seasonal sites are your thing this would would very nicely. Snowbirding in this would be really comfortable, me, something more along the lines of Mini Lite or that Jayco or Freedom Express no slide unit just fit me better. I guess there is reason why some different sizes, styles and trim levels exist.

We have a 2021 Grand Design 340RDS. The layout has been great. Looks like GD has the sun on cabinets. We changed up the table. I have that floor model in the reflection 341 RDS I prefer it to the Jayco because it has more storage in the kitchen and when I don’t want the table put I slide it towards the wall, I have a Jayco eagle and they just don’t have enough kitchen storage as compared to the reflections I’ve been I. With one exception of a Jayco eagle FLQS of the same size, but they stopped making that one 5 years ago

I've seen one with this layout I loved it. Although the living room pony wall was not in front of the stove. That would annoy me to no end. Maybe switch the sink with the stove and put the sink at the window. The one I saw didn't have a bench, it had a dining room table and 4 chairs. I'd rather have the small RV tubs w/shower than just a shower. I could at least bathe my grandkids or even give my small dogs a bath. The one slide needed to go back farther like the other side. The couch is about blocking the TV cabinet.

I think just switching the fridge next to the pantry would be better, still keep the symmetrical kitchen by the stove. The table is a great height and would make a great prep area. As the keeper of the kitchen the fridge in the middle of my work space would be a nightmare. Travel access not a thing for us.

Our 365pack16 has that half dinette thing. I don't think it's ever been used. The table just becomes a catch-all. I would say, if they could make it optional, that would be good.
In the case of our unit, if they made the kitchen bigger, and maybe made a single seat bench for putting on shoes, that would be good. When we are out using it, we eat outside. Unless the weather is trash, then it's on the sofa.
My opinion may not reflect the opinion of the company.

really like the floor plan on this unit however not crazy about the high separation wall between the dining and living area, would prefer the lower counter like the GD model you reference in this video. Would like to see this with a 2 person counter that faces the living area that can double as dining and work area, then give more storage in that separation wall like the GD and give up the camp kitchen. I like the love seat with the optional middle arm rest that can rise up out of sight on this model better than the GD version, and really like the televator on this since the larger windows give you the ability to enjoy a beautiful vista out that back window where as in the GD you are getting just the big TV view. Would like to have seen the USB outlets and other buttons on the high wall separator to be on the side wall next to the love seat (or part of the love seat center console). Like the kitchen and fridge layout better in this model compared to GD but not crazy about the overly distressed look of the cabinets in the Eagle, they look dirty to me. Really like the blue vanity in the bathroom and would like to see that carried over into the other bathroom cabinet as well, looks very nice. I could honestly do without the dining area if they gave me the little tables options; I also love the flippside of this floorplan with the front living rear bed (actually prefer that front living even more).

I love this layout. I also love the rear kitchen layout that other dealers have. The grand design vs Jayco, I like the Jayco better. It's lighter in color, the televoter gives you a full window in the back. I love that the awning covers the Door. I'm not a fan of the herringbone in the bathroom or the subway tile in the kitchen, but not a deal breaker for me. I like the Grand Design bathroom better solid piece shower, kitchen table is lower which I like. Not a fan of high table top. I don't like the carpet in the slide in living room or the stationary Tv. I own a 2021 eagle HT rls and dealing with customer service on issues I've had at Jayco vs what I've heard about dealing with Grand Design customer service may make a decision for me on who I would buy from next.

I think that a trailer of this size and price serves best by having traditional amenities. We rarely use our tables at home(there's usually too much crap on them) bit we don't get rid of the tables.
We have split countertops at home.
We don't have a Jayco dealer near me so I haven't looked at a lot of them bit the LR furniture looks...chintzy. Maybe it's just the camera but it doesn't look comfortable, sort of naugahide trailer furniture.
I like the floorplan and I think it's set up well.
Not a fan of that shower design. Just give me a white shower.
I think 6 point leveling would be much better.
Like the outdoor kitchen and awning setup.
Why not have the outside cargo bay doors swing to the side?

Hard no is the theatre seating. I love my fiance and deeply enjoy cuddling. If it was a fold up "faux" theatre seating I'd say fuck yeah...but since Jayco is anti-loving couple NOPE out of there...Otherwise ALL of the other feartures I'd be happy. I'm looking to buy a toy hauler but with a 3k lbs tandem hitch. I could pull a light tandem trailer with my motorcycle behind this easily...but that anti-cuddling theater seat...I'd spend my money elsewhere.
Josh, you've presented many alternatives way outside my toy-hauler box mindset...but anti-cuddling seating is a hard no for me...no matter what kind of trailer. Essentially my point is if you don't like to cuddle...why are you married or in a committed relationship. Say NO! to Theatre Seating!!!!
