Health and fitness tech always sounds great, but with so many options, it can be hard to sort the gimmicks from the actual life changing products. I enjoy testing health tech and after testing hundreds of fitness trackers, glucose monitors, smart mattresses, and even sweat trackers, I boiled down the essential health tech into three categories. In this video, I want to share with you my 12 favorite health and fitness products that help me to feel great and work long days without any caffeine.

ADDITIONAL VIDEO NOTES:
So the three categories: Workouts, Circadian Rhythm, and Protection/recovery
CATEGORY 1: WORKOUTS
So I have several fitness and health trackers. I will explain each of them so you can choose the best for your style
Garmin Epix Pro Gen 2
Very accurate HR, GPS
Sleep tracking, ECG, and body battery
Additional training centric metrics like endurance score, hill score, heat acclimation index, 5k time estimator, training plans, fitness age, VO2 Max, and more
Route mapping and backtrack mode
Extremely long battery life
Button or touch screen functionality
Also functions as a smart watch, with weather, compass, notifications, sunrise sunset, stock trackers, and a seriously good flashlight
I love this device and I wear it everyday. It inspires me to workout more and push myself. The app is great and the online UI has even more data options. Plus it can sync really easily with HR straps, power meters, Strava, and basically anything else related to fitness
So for workouts and any GPS tracked exercises like running, paddling, cycling, hiking, or whatever, this is the best of the best.
By the way, I will have links to all this stuff in the video description. You can support the channel by using those links. Also, a lot of these health centric devices are HSA eligible, so keep an eye out for that. You can potentially use your HSA and save whatever your income tax rate is.
Tenways ebike - for anyone looking to get into cycling but maybe you aren’t quick enough yet or you just want to go further or up bigger hills
An important thing here to remember is that all this tech can gamify your workouts or give you more data, but they will not make the workouts easier. Workouts are supposed to be hard and so I recommend making a goal that inspires you and if necessary, hiring a coach.
CATEGORY 2: CIRCADIAN RHYTHM
Smart Thermostat - some people like EightSleep. Watch out for affiliates
Lutron Serena Shades
For daily health tracking and non-GPS workout tracking, you may hear of celebrities and athletes using smart rings. Even Samsung mentioned they were coming out with one soon. It’s a big trend right now, and my personal favorite is the Ultrahuman Air. Why? The combo is everything.
Ultrahuman combo
Ultrahuman ring
HR, Body Temp, SpO2, accelerometer
Sleep score and sleep movement insights
Stress rhythm and breath work
Cardio Age
Shift Work
Stimulant planning
Morning alertness indicator and ideal workout time suggestions
Dynamic recovery score
Locate my ring (wow)
Ultrahuman M1 CGM
Possibly Ultrahuman Home
Now with a sleep mask
Whoop 4.0
AI Chat
Sleep earbuds - soundcore sleep a20
CATEGORY 3: General Protection and Recovery
Air quality meter - CO2, VOC, PM2.5, Temp, Humidity
Air Purifier - solution for PM2.5
Vibes earplugs (not really tech, but super important)
Heated massage gun
Moving forward, what kind of tech do I want to try next?
Sauna
Ice bath
Just check out Shervin’s channel for recommendations on those two - วิทยาศาสตร์และเทคโนโลยี

Note: I filmed this before the Samsung products launched. I will have a comparison between the Ultrahuman ring and the Galaxy Ring, as well as another comparing the Garmin Epix to the Galaxy Watch Ultra! Subscribe to see those :)
If the whoop wasn't so ridiculously overpriced I'd probably have had one for years! Just can't justify it when I can buy a Garmin band for £80 and get all the same data for free forever.
Please use time stamp
Adding that asap
@@MikeOBrienMedia Thank you 😊 🙏
the most underrated tech youtuber fr🫡
@@MikeOBrienMedia still not added. Does this improve watch times? especially in the early few days of a new video as people have to move around the video?
@@MikeOBrienMedia💤💤💤
Super duper helpful video as I try to figure out how to best spend my $1400 fitness equipment reimbursement and $200 sitting in my HSA, definitely most interested in the circadian rhythm devices.
I appreciate the honesty especially with 8-Sleep. Was really looking into a smart Thermostat!
Thanks for sharing the good info brother concerning the devices we need for everyday life God bless you buddy 🙏🙏😊😊
Thanks for watching!
Time stamps 🤕
What air quality meter do you use or recommend?
I have the Garmin Fenix 7 pro, it's the MIP display the version of the Epic. Excellent watch and I will never go back to a traditional smartwatch that only gets one or two days of battery life
Well the Garmin is a fitness tracker, not a smartwatch. It can't do as much.
@@BruceLeeRoy26 It can receive notifications, receive and send text messages, emails, access ur calendar and display, control the sound and media on ur phone, snooze alarms. The only thing it can't do is make make phone calls on the watch, control ur camera and take pics, change ear buds settings. I'm not sure how much smarter it could be, no it's not a phone on ur wrist, it's an extremely capable smart watch that is also an excellent fitness tracker that gets 2 weeks of battery life. It's all 99% of people will ever need, too many people get suckered into buying an apple watch or Samsung watch because of the "ecosystem" they're really just buying an inferior product. But hey if you don't do fitness and don't mind charging ur watch everyday, go for it.
Not trying to sound harsh. I had a Samsung Watch 4, it was kind of cool to be able to change the ambient noise settings on the watch, and being able to respond to text messages via voice, that is literally the only thing I miss about that watch.
take ALL my money
Mike!, Thanks for posting this video
bro that garmin watch is more than a little more than the competition. its almost 1k. and i saw another guy who tracks watches accuracy of heart rate monitors against a polar chest strap and garmin is nowhere near the top for heart rate accuracy. not to mention sleep accuracy as well
which 'watch' is the best?(for heart rate)
@@ashilsalim409 technically apple watch, but thats an apple product so, like, ew. i think iirc the best android heart rate accurate watch is the pixel watch 2. the channel "The Quantified Scientist" does alot of good testing for heartrate and sleep accuracy and pixel 2 is the best andrioid one from his tests so far
Hi mike , I have an iphone 13 and i am looking for an accurate fitness tracker , which watch would you suggest me if my budget was around 200$
16:34 oh hi there :)
You did mention a while back that the Charge 6 was your most recommended wearable in 2024 for fitness 😐
hope you're well Mike
Thanks!
More tech is always welcomed
