Enduro 3 was my choice after a fair amount of research. So far, it has exceeded expectations. The battery life is insane. The flashlight/torch is great. The M.I.P. display is an easy transition from my old Fēnix 3 (R.I.P.😢). The band is super comfortable, too. Just a ton of features. Thanks for making awesome wearable tech vids, Des!!
@@Selahree I wish the same. My wrists aren't tiny, but they certainly aren't large. I will say that the Enduro 3 doesn't feel as "big" as my old Fēnix 3. It feels lighter for sure. I
Thanks! Like you, the Enduro 3 is my top high end watch of the year. I like to use this in parallel with a nice looking LTE watch when I don't want to bring my phone. I tried the Pixel 3 for a bit over the holidays but switched back to iOS by upgrading my Ultra 1 to a nice looking black titanium Applewatch Ultra 2. Thanks again for your helpful reviews this year!
I have a pair of their Jackson readers which work great. I'm getting another pair soon but not sure which style to choose. I like that they have a virtual try on for some of their models on their site, although not all of them. Thanks!
As much as I am a techie I tend to stick to what I have so I am still running with my Epix 2 (March 2022), the HRM and OpenRun from 2023. The OpenRun 2 is probably what I buy next.
I was thinking about getting a set of slicks for my mountain bike and/or building a 2nd set of wheels, but I talked myself out of it because I'd probably never switch them lmao.
I just couldn’t get into the larger 1050,1040 or any of those almost a smart phone size. So I use the 840 for gravel/road and the 130 for Mtn biking. Happy New Year bro! Love your reviews and almost tutorials on health tech devices. Personally I’m still using my Garmin Forerunner 965 as my daily driver. It’s paired with my 840 and Rally XC 200 pedals and Polar H10 chest strap for my gravel and century rides(I did 12 in 24) my other daily driver is my Ultrahuman ring. I absolutely love the AI feedback. The other impactful thing this year was my Strava subscription, I love the AI and all the fitness management features. It’s also becoming my most used social media.
Happy New Year 🎉and keep the good reviews coming ❤ The Edge 1050 is my latest upgrade and I think the only thing that would make me upgrade would be a build-in flashlight. I still keep my Epix Pro for the time being. I wait for the new Tactix or Forerunner 975 to see if I upgrade or wait for the MicroLed Fenix.
I bought a Fenix 7 Pro Solar Sapphire a few months before the 8 came out. The only thing I don't like about the hardware is that the screen is dark. That's the solar + sapphire. I can manage though. The bigger disappointment is that software quality since around September has been problematical. I rolled back to Spring 2024 and it's running fine. On earbugs - I've still not found something that I like better than the Beats Fit Pro. I have big fit problems with earbuds in that most fall out. The absolute best were the Jaybirds X3 with the earwings that go from the front of the ear to the back and they wedge in so well and never fall out. I'm not aware of any other company making something like that though.
Thanks for another year of stellar content 🎉 A couple of questions on the watch side of things: For the Apple Watch Series 10 titanium, how often do you end up wearing it? Feels like with your training it’d be passively during off hours. Second is which watch is your daily driver? If you had to pick one that’s on your wrist most of the time for training.
I wear the Series 10 Ti quite often - really enjoy the look and also the size. That may change more to the Ultra 2 during the summer though as I haven't been doing as many outdoor activities right now during the winter so battery life isn't as much of a concern. As a training tool, I tend to wear Garmin watches for the cycling metrics and feedback which are more robust than most other platforms. Thanks!
@@DesFit Appreciate the follow up. I imagine it is a tough line to walk from a reviewer standpoint in testing so many devices vs deeper dives on what you mainly wear day to day. The latter would be a cool series though from a training + recovery optimization standpoint, although I know that's not really the focus of the channel. Worth considering spinning up a sister channel for alternative content like this.
Well. Here is one vote for the DJi cameras , the ability to turn their cameras on the side for vertical (9:16) aspect ratio without even having to stop your activity by simply utilizing the magnetic mounts is just genius and has been so useful for me on my channel. The camera has been super reliable as well. Can’t say enough about DJi !
Des, as an Apple Watch Ultra 2 user, I like having the smartwatch capability with my iPhone like making/taking calls and texts. Do you think the Coros Pace Pro is so much more accurate on runs that it's worth buying one and using it only for runs/trails? Debating on whether it is worth it if the GPS and other stats are much more accurate since it focuses more on training and less on being a smartwatch.
Apple Watches may be slightly less accurate in the GPS department but only in higher speed scenarios I've found such as cycling where on occasion it can overshoot or undercut corners. It's minor and inconsequential in the whole scheme of things and GPS accuracy shouldn't make a meaningful difference between the two. Heart rate accuracy will be slightly better on the Ultra 2 while, as you noted, the training feedback may be better on the Pace Pro.
If these Roka glasses work for you, great, but I have read a lot of stuff saying blue blocking glasses are a gimmick. Huberman himself used to say that before he entered into his deal. Been wearing Pathways stuff for the past year, truly is great stuff. That hoodie is the only shirt I run in now.
I was skeptical of blue light blocking glasses as well but I had to try them myself to make an assessment and find they work for me. I miss them when I don't have them. Happy to hear about another Path Projects fan!
Thanks for all the in-detail reviews, fitfile podcasts, etc. in 2024, Des!
Thanks Mate and happy new year to you!

If only they would make the Enduro 3 less than 51 inches. I'm a female with teeny tiny wrists and can barely wear a forerunner 965.

This is an outstanding and refreshingly concise summary of the last year. Thank you!
You're very welcome. Thanks!
Thank you Des, we'd be lost without you!!
Always happy to help!

Thanks and Happy New Year!
Another great video. Here’s to another great year 🎉 Keep up the great work, your videos are always helpful and informative!
Thanks and happy new year!
Happy New Year 🎉🎉
Cheers, happy new year to you too!
Maybe a video about your work related to improving sleep? 😊 Would love to hear your insights!
In the works!
Awesome video! I was also curious, besides the glasses you recommended, did you try any other Roka glasses?
I have a pair of their Jackson readers which work great. I'm getting another pair soon but not sure which style to choose. I like that they have a virtual try on for some of their models on their site, although not all of them. Thanks!
Hey mang, who’s making the best headlamp for trail running these days?
Fantastic video! Happy new year 🎉
Thank you! You too!

Right?!
Great tips!.. love the clothing. I saw the video from billy and it looks super smart.. like the separate outer and inner on the shorts
Highly recommended, Paul! You just can’t hide it under a banana suit ;)
@DesFit😂😂😂😂 I need them to design me a technical banana suit for my 1300km plog in May😂🍌🍌🍌🍌
Happy new year 🎉
Cheers, Gus!
What are your thoughts on the latest Oura ring?
Great vid. Happy New Year. I’ve got the shokz open run pro 2, very happy with it
Happy new year!
Did I hear about a connection to Huberman?
😢
HNY Des. Great info in video. Thx!
Appreciate it! Happy new year!

Honestly, you should try the Sunto Sonic and wing, I argue their better than the Shokz for practically the same or less cost
I reviewed the Wing (th-cam.com/video/Y9TalWtaKag/w-d-xo.htmlsi=xNMBcEBMlYChsoXh) Excellent for bone conduction but the OpenRun Pro 2’s are a step up.
Bought Fenix 8 51mm. 3 months ago. So dissapointed... Ill change them asap.

The same way you mentioned no internal or image quality updates for the GoPro 13, should be mentioned for the iPhone 16 Pro as well 👀
Didn't it get a larger display, a new processor, bump in resolution on the ultra wide, as well as a 5X lens vs 3X?
Want a hoodie but theyve been out of stock 😢
Thanks for another year of stellar content 🎉

Going to get the 1050 later just order epixpro 51 so need a few weeks to afford this 😂
Not surprising at all; Enduro 3 over Fenix 8 is the logical choice.
Brother, you forgot to mention what kind of ring you're rocking on your finger! 😄 Curious minds need to know!
It's an Oura ring gen 3 horizon
Happy New Year
Cheers! Happy new year to you too!
Are there any good earbuds that could work with surfing? Maybe the shokz open swim? Happy New Year good sir!

Breath work at night works. I can usually fall asleep in 5-10 mins

I havent seen one review of the ultra 2 that states it's GPS is any less accurate than a Garmin or Coros watch.
