Only in the US right now! The developers originally had a publisher lined up but it fell through so they went the self release route! That meant they needed to roll it out gradually, US first, everywhere else a couple weeks!
I'm just curious - with a review this strongly in the game's favour, if you were on the fence, why did you decide to wait? what put you off? Or, I should say, rather, what could he have said differently, that would have prompted you to buy the game? I'm not questioning your decision, btw, genuinely just curious abt the way you phrased it. 😄
@@jimdoom2276 No worries, definitely a fair question! Without context my comment doesn't make much sense. Basically, due to my game backlog (which I'm sure many of us know all too well), new games fall into either a "day one, I have to play it immediately" or "it looks good, but I can wait a while" category. Phoenotopia, while looking and sounding like a great experience, isn't compelling me at this moment to have it cut to the front of the line, so to speak. That is, ironically, why it was such a great review; it made me want to play it, but pointed out enough to make me realize that I don't feel compelled to play it right NOW. This is what I look for in a review
@@MEDUSAvsSHOE ah. I mean it kind of is but it's definitely it's own thing. Plus it's a sequel/reboot of a previous title so it definitely has it's own flair going. Honestly a lot of it reminds me of earthbound... Not even 3 hours in and we get flying saucers lol.

What catches my attention of the game is the colors and the cuteness of the art, looks fun will be getting it since it’s on sale

The female protagonist was the first check mark but when you compared it to Zelda II I knew I had to get it, which I did.
This is challenging but well worth it! Clear alot of passion went into it!

After Cross Code, I realized I'm personally burned out on games like this. Still, it does look good.
But... They aren't really all that similar other than graphical perhaps? Except cross I think is 16 bit
