I tell you what’s underrated…. Graveyard Keeper! I never hear anyone talking about it or see it and it’s just so cool, very stardew but IMO a little busier and more to keep me interested, plus you autopsy and bury dead people 😂 such a fun time playing this! Anyone here played it? Maybe it pretty well known but I never see it 🤷♀️
I love this game but some of the dlc is still so bugged on the nintendo switch that it is unplayable at certain plot points. I wish they had fixed it. 😪
I absolutely loved Lake. Played it on PC the recommendation of a close friend some time ago and couldn't put it down. Then scooped up the DLC the day it was released and finished it in a day. The relaxing gameplay was fantastic and getting to know the town and the characters and the story was amazing. Incredibly envious of anyone getting to experience it for the first time. I wish I could do that again.
May I add two Honorable Mentions to this list: 1) Summer in Mara. It's got gorgeous graphics, a nice sweet story, you own your own island with a farm and there's a lot to do as the story progresses! There's also a Windwaker-esque vibe where you live on a planet with different islands you get to visit on your boat. 2) House Flipper. I'm OBSESSED with this game! Basically what it says on the tin, you clean up messed up houses, repaint and redecorate them for you clients, and when you save up enough money, you can buy one of the many available houses/buildings and decorate them as you see fit to, well, sell them. (Or keep them. I fell in love with the lake cabin and made it my personal office ♥) There's just something satisfying about starting with a crumbling building and later seeing the finished job!
littlewood is SO good, it was one of my first games on the switch and i love it so much!! and i totally agree on the graphics, it takes me back to watching my older sisters play pokemon ruby and sapphire 🥺💕
Pat, have you played Disney Magical World 2? I think it's really well made and I never hear anyone talk about it! It's a 3DS port. The gameplay starts pretty basic but it actually gets pretty complex! But super cute and cozy - great decorating and fashion. It has cafe management and combat too!
So the reason Little Dragon Cafe isn’t recommended as a cozy game is because early on it gets too glitchy and stressful to manage. Between exploring and cafe demands, you don’t get to enjoy the game-especially the exploration part. Since cozy gamers enjoy exploring at their own pace, this game just doesn’t fit that bill.
Pokemon Cafe remix was originally going to be an Animal Crossing mobile game with Brewster and villagers come to get drinks! Don't believe me? Look at the assets at 5:05. Those are the ACNH bushes! Think about the storyline. I bet they reskinned it at the end. This game also came out between the release of ACNH and the release of Brewster. If you look at the background, you can see it takes place on an island, too. Nobody says anything! Tell me what you think!
I played Eastward and fell in love with it! It's so beautiful, charming and has an interesting Story. I was so happy to hear about the Octopia-DLC being a farming game and really enjoyed to play it. I hope there will be more Eastward-games in the future!!!
I’m playing lake and RF3 right now! I LOVED RF4 sooo much but didn’t love 5. So glad to try out another of their older games! Never tried Lil Dragons Cafe but definitely looked into it when I first got my switch and haven’t heard much of it since! I own Littlewood but never played it!!! Thanks for another awesome vid!! Love seeing different games
I just started Eastward and am loving it so far! Also, gotta heavily agree with Lil Gator Game being super underrated! More people should check it out 💜
A definite cozy game that I've never heard anyone talk about is Katamari Demacy Reroll. You are tasked with creating new planets and to do so, you roll a ball around different environments to get objects to stick to the ball. You can only pick up small items at first (like an apple or a leaf), but as the ball gets bigger, you can pick up larger and larger items like buildings, mountains, and islands. Simple and straightforward, but very addicting and fun!
@@RachelXKnight666The devs actually programmed in an option to help with that. You can hit a button on the d-pad that switches things so that moving the right stick only moves the powerwasher, not your camera view. It's like looking straight ahead and wiggling your hand around, rather than moving your head side to side or up and down. The toggle is *amazing.* I do agree a demo would be a good idea, and would almost certainly sell even more copies of this game. Short of that, though, you could try watching some YT vids in full screen. Most recent gameplay videos show people using the toggle off and on, so long as they're not speed running (speedrunners of this game use techniques that can make even people without motion sickness queasy, lol). At launch, a lot of people mentioned motion sickness to the devs. Since the toggle was implemented, I never hear about it anymore. It's great!
RIP mic stand. I have to put Yoshi onto my wish list, you’ve reminded me about this. I play Pokemon Cafe since it’s out on my mobile phone, it’s easier with the touch screen. Stopped once in a while, but getting back into it whenever there’re cute pokemons come out.
Story of Seasons Friends of my Mineral Town remake was my first game into the franchise and I absolutely adore it. Stardew introduced me into farming and got me addicted but Friends of Mineral Town dragged me into the farming genre haha. The chibi & cows are just so cute 😆 I think I will try the Dragon game on Steam in the future though!
My most absolute fave in the Story of Seasons/Harvest Moon series is the (More) Friends of Mineral Town. The _GBA_ version, *NOT* the SOS version. Don't get me wrong. The SOS version is good. The art upgrade is subjective. There's some that I like and some that I don't like. But overall, it still looks cute. So really, my caveat here is pretty personal. I just really don't like the fact that they took out the *_Rival Marriage System_* . Like *_that_* was one of the greatest thing the series ever did! It gave more depth to the villagers. Being invited to a wedding made me pretty happy coz it meant I was good friends with the couple! They weren't just some mindless villagers walking around doing repetitive work. They had a love story of their own! Also, knowing that someone else was kind of wooing the same gal/guy you were wooing really makes you think you should work harder and faster to win them. It didn't feel like it was another chore to add to your daily routine. Slipping up on the gift-giving _had_ consequences, lol. I mean yes, there's still _some_ rival events in the SOS version.. But it's only two IIRC and even then, they had to cut off a few more random events. Because in the GBA versions, those random events only trigger when parties involved are married. Overall it's still a good game. I just think that if you really want to introduce people to the series, the GBA version would be the better choice. Although that would mean on passing on Brandon and Jennifer. Also the same-sex marriages. But then again, if you also had a GameCube and the proper add-on, you could also connect your FoMT game to your A Wonderful Life game and see additional characters from FoMT appear in AWL. I find that particular feature pretty neat!
Great list. Lake is a game I'd been wanting to play, so when I saw it drop on Switch I nabbed it immediately. Unfortunately, it really does look horrible. I'd heard people talk about poorly optimized games looking as if you'd smeared Vaseline all over your eyes, but had never experienced that with a game until now. It's *bad.* The frame rate also definitely needs work. I'm someone who generally doesn't care much about framerate or less than stellar graphics, and have enjoyed many games others couldn't stand to play or look at. But this one is really testing my limits. The story's great. But man... those graphics. Definitely one to play elsewhere or wait for a patch. That said, I have played and quite enjoyed every other game on this list. Powerwash Sim in particular was my second most played game last year, and currently has over 600 hours of playtime on my Switch. It's the perfect game to play while listening to an audiobook or podcast. It's really helped me get through some of my "to be read" backlog of books, lol. Highly recommended.
I have been LOVING Lake I’m almost done with it haha. I was shocked when I saw switch gameplay, hopefully they can patch it or something. Thanks for watching ❤️
I find Arceus to be a relaxing game sometimes just feel like searching for certain Pokemon to try and catch and explore the lands before doing missions. And it’s the only Pokemon game I’ve played more than 2 days. Tried shield thought it was a garbage rpg. Persona id add to a cozy game. IK botw isn’t underrated, but if u have adhd, racing thoughts definitely try the game out. You’ll be searching every tree trying to find anything. That’s my favorite Nintendo game I’ve ever played on any Nintendo.
I'm surprised with everyone loving cozy games right now there aren't many full game play throughs of Octopia. I would love to chill after a long day and follow along with someone playing this game to completion.
Besides stardew and AC I loved pikmin 4. It's better than the first 3 in fact skip them and after 4 maybe do 2. No one mentions how amazing pikmin 4 is
We love to joke about how awful USPS is as an employer to us and yet here I am, enjoying a rare day off, thinking "Yes. What better way to relax after a day of delivering mail than by getting home and deliver some mail?"
I know it sucks a bit, but deleting most games and just keeping the save data *really* helps with performance issues. I generally don’t experience any.
meclizine, and blue blocking glasses. I've found myself getting way less motion sickness triggered by screens now that I have blue blocking added onto my glasses. i play power washer sim sometimes on my PC and it's really fun. but yeah the pan and scanning is a little tough sometimes and you gotta take a break. it's good though
Aww im sorry you feel that way. I love some of the retro games, as long as it's stardew valley level good im willing to put up with it. plus it never takes long to download 😂
I don’t know I have pretty much stopped using Nintendo switch because the graphics are bad. The failure rates on most the game is bad. The pixelation is bad. I only bought it for Zelda and they won’t be making another one for six years so I’m pretty much done with switch. PS five or PC is better for most games.
Have YOU played any of these games!? SUBSCRIBE for more
