What did X plan save me on a $102,000 Platinum Ford Superduty

- I forgot to mention that the dealer has to let you use rebates along with your ex plan or any other Ford plan a lot of dealers try to tell you you can’t.
As in the rebates that Ford sends out in the mail that say 2000 off super duty and such the ex plan a plan Z plan could all be combined with rebates.

Honestly… you’ve got the best looking stock truck I’ve seen on TH-cam. Enjoy it, she’s beautiful!
We have the X plan at work; the higher the truck's price, the more discount you get. And we can only buy one auto a year. I Work For Estes Freight Line, and we also had it at Old Dominion Freight Line. And Ford made us get it financed by Ford Motor credit. Sometimes, I got a rebate with the XPlan when I got a new F350. You have a nice truck.
Thanks for the info. I should have mentioned that in the video, but I forgot as in that you can still use rebates with the plans as a lot of dealers. Try to tell you can’t. Thanks for reminding me and others.
Estes Express Lines represent!
Sure that was a Ford thing or a dealer thing?

Dave could care less about someone buying an expensive vehicle if they can afford it. He says never spend more than half your annual income on a vehicle.
Best F250 build I have seen so far. Nice job.
Thanks
I will be holding on my paid off 2021 F350 Tremor. Ford SD prices are getting stupid crazy.
Market is leveling but trades are back to low ball. You have a great truck buddy
I wish this video would have existed before I ordered mine. I got basically the same truck in Lariat Ultimate, and I thought it was funny that package didn’t trump the Tremor package. Should’ve known Ford would give the cheaper option on the steps. Had I realized I could add for $0, I would have in a heartbeat.
You are also correct on the MCA giving X-plan pricing. You must have MCA approved membership for 90 days, then you can generate the PIN for X-plan. They may give you a little guff about it at the dealership, but be sure and negotiate numbers first, THEN bring up X-plan. Don’t show your hand!
Very true and great advice for others buying. These dealers will get you if they can
Why would you negotiate then tell dealer you are an x plan buyer? X plan is listed on invoice. No need to negotiate, either the dealer is going to give you x plan or not.
Seems like you would be wasting the dealers time and yours.
You can negotiate a trade-in of course but when you pay x plan your getting not much, if any, more than wholesale trade in.
@@wkcampbell1 that’s what I meant, the trade in. Some dealers will try to make up for the discount on the trade. X plan is x plan…just thought that was understood.
Great video, love your build. I just traded my 21 F150 for a 24 F350 Platinum and I love the increased payload and diesel power! I agree there are a few options like the spray in liner that you couldn’t get aftermarket for anywhere near that price. I will say though my experience with the factory spray in liner is that it’s easy to peal at the edges since they just spray in on over the painted surface so it doesn’t stick as good as say line-x. I still went with the factory liner though, it holds up pretty good, just watch those edges sliding things across them.
Thanks
I agree I tested a f-150 powerboost last year for a week and loved the truck but it’s hard to get away from having it all. As in power and towing. My 2020 f-250 has the ford spray liner also we put sawmill blades and wood in it all the time it’s held up really well. Thanks for the input congrats on the truck they are nice.
I dont have an issue paying that. If somebody has the money and wants it, go for it.
It's just crazy how much they've inflated the prices- I bought this truck 2 years ago and it was low 80's. Also, yeah, approaching or exceeding $100k for a pickup truck, to me, is just absurd- the build quality isn't there, panel gaps are horrendous, etc. It's a $45-50k pickup truck in a walmart tuxedo for 6 figures. I get annoyed thinking about what I paid for it sometimes- this isn't an exotic vehicle.
In my part of the country the steps get stuck in the up position with ice and snow buildup. Also having the steps in the lower position or fixed when driving on gravel roads or off road the steps help protect the body and paint job. Also I just learned the 23-24 Ford SD trucks changed the front axles from the Dana 60 used in the 2017-2022 models to the M235 which is a weaker Dana50 type axle. Not sure why Ford would downgrade the front axle like that. I like your truck and I hope you enjoy it!
M235 is cheaper/lower quality axle, gee thanks Ford.
Nice Rig.... A lot of big companies also offer its Xplan to employees especially if you have a fleet of Fords or you supply Ford.
Thanks buddy
This is true. They have two type of x plans ford offers.
Thank goodness I get A plan pricing because these truck prices are getting out of hand.
I keep hearing more price increases are coming
The Front grill and lights along with the absurd price hikes is what kept me from trading in my 22
Nice truck. Thanks for explaining the plans. Wish I knew someone that works at Ford, lol.
Thanks buddy
People are saying you can join the Mustang club and still get the discount. Might want to check into that.
You can get the X plan through a company as well if they have an agreement with Ford
Let me know if you need some help I work at a Ford dealership here in East TX
Living in N. Idaho these steps can be problematic when road snow/ice builds up and likes to load up under these automatic steps. Not a big deal except when you park inside your heated garage and everything thaws out overnight you are effectively bringing home a swimming pool and a ton of road grime into the floor of your garage.
It comes with a “metal bar”. These aren’t your normal nerf bars. They are for off road. They can withstand the entire weight of the truck if need be. The electric deploying cannot. Now, having a tremor with power deploying boards looks strange, but to each their own. Pretty truck.
Driving home with a truck that I just bought for 100k would be my financial downfall from wich I would never recover.
Beautiful Truck!!!! Hey......So...... Uncle/Brothern Law/Step Brother Id got ya that A Plan!!!! I have built many of them in my time. Dealers are ABSOLUTLY SUPPOSED to honor the A-Z plans but I have heard of some that try to get by without doing it.. Especially on a Super Duty or Special Vehicles like the Shelby Mustangs or Raptors. If that happens go to another Dealer. Again Awsome truck Unc LOL
Ha…your spot on, dealers should honor plans from the company they sell for. But many won’t until the last few months. During the China virus they would honor anything. Hopefully people took note and only dealer with the good dealers.
Thanks for the good vibes on my truck I love it
What is the payload for this truck? Great build. I am not sure I would want the tremor package.

I wanted the Tremor bad but you can't get it with the long bed and the LB gives you the 48 gal fuel tank and I went gas (7.3) so that was a must for me.
@@SliderFury1 I’m sure you know but S&B makes bigger fuel tanks for these trucks also. Which would be a cost, but I think you can get up to a 60 gallon from them.
X Plan used to save a lot more money. But a decade or so ago when Ford made a big deal about lowering the MSRP for buyers, they at the same time raised the dealer cost on the vehicle. Since X Plan was tied to dealer cost (at that time it was $200 over dealer cost) it became less of a deal for the buyer.
I’m still thankful for the plans though. $6000 is a nice chunk
@@americandream_89 Agreed, every little bit helps. Though iirc I saved around the same $6K with my use of X Plan back in 2007 on a truck with an MSRP of $51K
Nice Truck! I have bought a lot of new Trucks and I always say to the Dealer no trade to to start with, then after I get the prices down I say well if I was to trade what would you give me for my trade. Seems to work out better for you on the value you get, that's why I always do it. You can also get dealers to come down lower than those plans just by negotiating with them. Every Dealer is different on what they are willing to do.
I always work directly with the new car sales managers - I hate dealing with salesman. I don't want to play games, I just want to cut out the BS.
I have never even paid as much as invoice with no plans. Usually I am thousands under invoice which is less than MSRP. My last new one I paid more than I usually do because I needed to hurry and buy one because someone hit my truck and totalled it. But this new one I still bought it for $1500 under invoice. My wifes SUV I bought for $2,750 under invoice. Another thing that can help people buy at a better price is always buy the last day of every month or the last day of the year - That can help a lot.
Thanks I really like the truck.
Great info I’m sure this will help others. I’ve just about stopped dealing with trades over the past five years. I’ve just sold everything myself and come out thousands ahead. No one will get private party offer on a trade-in.
Very true! It's worth checking out for everyone on what the differences will be on trade or what you can sell for and then pay tax credit difference. Plus the speed of how long it takes to sell on your own might sway someone one way or another as well.
@@stenny1970 very true….. that wait for some is the nervous tick they can’t deal with.
Great video explaining everything! I’m about to get a F-250 Lariat Tremor. I actually prefer the textured Tremor Off Road running boards over the Power deployed. They deflect rocks way better imo. I have an F-150 Tremor and the textured running boards have been a life saver!

As in the ability to flex over terrain?

Those power steps are awesome but they do get messed up where it freezes. So if your from the south nothing to think about but if you live north within 2-3 years they can break especially if not in a heated garage.
Well….. that’s a new one on me. I have never heard that. What do you think causes them to mess up? Is it a freeze and keep trying to open their self? Thanks for the info.
Yeah they don't work up north, summer only. One winter and the electric motor is shot

What was your wait time for delivery? I've been waiting 5 months now.

You will love it! Mine took roughly 6-7months. I ordered the morning the order bank opened.
I just priced a Lariat, Platinum, and an XLT Tremor. Each from a different dealer here in WV and found the X plan was pretty much equivalent to the taxes, just like yours did in Ky.
@@davidseckman8604 yeah 👍
Ky is 6% tax
Remember the x plan can be combined with any incentive ford or the dealer is offering
@americandream_89 well I picked up my 24 Platinum 2 days ago. I really like the truck but I can't stand the headlights at night. Does your high beams have light and dark streaks in the light they throw? The first night I saw it, I figured I'd get used to it. This morning on the way to work, we had some fog due to the cool night we had, and the light with the streaks are truly obnoxious. So much so, if I had known how bad that is I would have went a different direction.
Oh, and I did use the Xplan and it saved me around $6k, or pretty much the amount of the WV sales tax.
@@davidseckman8604 yes mine are the same way. It’s a huge complaint across the board. I’m really not sure why. I’ve never seen headlights have such a broken pattern as Ford’s.

The theory of things being cheaper sounds good but you also have to take into account you’re paying interest on any upgrade you include in pricing. It works for who it works for. So $550 with 6% interest is closer to $650. Either way it’s only a little difference but my brain instantly wants to know how much I’m really paying
This would be true for people financing at a 6% interest rate. I would hope no one buying a truck this expensive is financing it fully. I would say that person isn’t making good financial choices if they are

The metal steps offer some protection sorta like a rock slider. Its why they put them on Tremors and Raptors. They are for off roading. The powered steps can be a issue in cold area's if it ices up or if you drive muddy back roads as they can break. That said I do prefer the look of the powered step.
I get wanting the tremor but damn your in Limited territory at $102K.
In your opinion, do you feel like the limited offers you something that the platinum doesn’t? I personally like this color combo better than the white and blue with carbon fiber offered in the limited. I do like the diamond stitch but stitching in my experience. If you work out of your truck tends to catch the mud color easy.. with that said I don’t know of anything. The limited offers that I don’t have.
Have you sat in a Limited? That interior is a much higher grade than the Platinum. The headliner, dash and seats are all better. Also the Limited will have a higher resale value. Further a Limited is base priced 98K and with destination fees and a few option like yours (carpet delete, most everything else is included) would be probably less than your truck.

The metal tubular steps that come with the tremor are because the tremor is supposed to be for off-roading. Those steps act as a bit of protection from high siding in the center. Of course nobody actually takes tremors off road so the posers don’t realize this
No one truly off Roading chooses a super duty anyway 😂

Love to know what insurance runs and yearly tabs. This is a depreciating asset. It will go from 100K to 40K by 2030. The cost of trucks will be the demise of the RV industry.
My insurance is around 1400 a year for this truck. I have never kept a truck over 4 years and it usually cost me around 4500-5000 a year between buying new and selling old.
That short bed is a deal breaker. I hate short beds especially for pulling. Your ride quality will be severely diminished. When you have to make turns with a fifth wheel it's going to get tricky. Most people don't know anything about trucks. I just happened to drive semis for a living. And a 355 rear end unless I'm staying in the Midwest that's a great set of gears but if not those are junk. I wouldn't give a crap about no tremor package. I'm not off-roading a millstone. Too damn heavy of a truck. You go off road and you're going to sink like a stone. I would never put off-road tires on that truck. Get a halfton if you want to do off-roading. I put some highway tires with some probably some 12 plies. Nice heavy duty highway tires. You going to get great wear out of those because mainly you're going to be on the street anyways. I would set it up with four-wheel drive just because I have a boat.

Fords leadership is cutting quality and costs on several areas. They have mostly removed the real veneer wood trims… they use thinner vinyl floor covering because it’s about 1/2 the cost to go from the previous line of vinyl. Also ford has reduced the available options and expect 2025 Super Duty’s to see a significant reduction in options and the end of the limited line. The platinum will now only have a black with blue trim or the Platinum Plus truffle interior.
I love the interior on your platinum with the Carmelo color inserts. I’ve never liked mixing black and navy in interiors. The wheel well liners are also a cost cutting effort. The previous “bed rug” style vinyl wheel well inserts are easier to clean and reduce noise significantly. The new liners hold on to clay and mud and to look clean must me wiped down. But after a few years they’ll be neat to hell showing tens of thousand of little dings. Fords President is a WOKE Harvard elitist who is paid 800x what the average ford worker makes. All these savings pays his $25,000,000 million pay plus another $30,000,000 in private jet, limo chauffeur etc.
Until Ford replaces this guy… we’ll see a forced movement toward EV’s and much much more expensive super duty’s and large SUV’s.
@@bret9741 I can’t say I disagree with you. Every year the trucks do get nicer in my opinion at a cost to the consumer. I personally like that they removed the limited package. This will give you the option to get a platinum plus tremor.

$100k for what??? The prices the manufacturers are putting these out for is disgraceful. I just don't see the value in this at this price tag. It does not make sense, its now greed at this point...
As long as people keep buying them they will go up. Prices would drop if sales dropped. Demand for the super duty is strong. They are currently building another factory

where is this mustang club. yes. im going to join

Those seats‽ 😵💫
Agreed
X-Plan is nothing, you save in the DOC fee, set 75 bucks or at least it used to be that. A and D plan is the BIG discounts.
5-6 thousand is nothing?
@americandream_89 x is a couple hundred over invoice. I sold 100s of X-Plan deals over the years, often times the customer would tell me they were X-Plan and I'd tell them I could get them a better deal if they'd not use it but some really thought they were getting something. The only way I'd see you saving 5k is if a dealer wouldn't move off sticker and you would save that way because X is a couple hundred over invoice. Dealers are back to discounts though so right now if you went to a dealer and negotiated as a regular old Joe you could in fact buy a vehicle cheaper than X plan. Again, it is a flat doc fee which would save a couple hundred in today's goofy doc fee garbage. A and D are the real winners. A being Ford Employee and D being Dealer employee. X is just a partner deal like Hertz employee or some other big company. Invoice is invoice it has A-D and X clearly printed and that's the price no matter what.
It’s not nothing but not as much as A&Z, either way it helps regardless what you can afford
@thebriangroves To get a deal on this truck at 6k below msrp is great any place in America. I get what you’re saying on regular trucks like king ranch and below. But you won’t just stumble upon this truck much below what I paid right now. Post one if so it will sell in 1 day.
The first rule of x plan is we don't talk about x plan
I knew someone would say this. But I did debate making this video
What do people do to afford these things? I make 150k and drive a 10year old econo shitbox...
EBT card 😂
Congrats!!!
Thanks

I got screwed on my 2024 platinum tremor,I don't recommend this truck at all it's a cheap feel
@@allenjewell-m1u what makes you say this?
Lol😂 you didn’t get the “power running board’s “ free
In 2020-2022 if you opted for the power running boards on a tremor it cost extra. People from those will understand my comment. But to your point obviously nothing is free I did she out 100k
Why
@@RyanJohnson-ft6qi why?
@jethrobodine011 your moms gonna be pissed when she has to drive your ass to work at the skating rink everyday while the blown up truck you spent 20k on sits in the parking lot at a garage waiting to get a motor out in it or built for it. And this is all assuming you have the roughly 50k in cash your planning to spend buying and building a rust free undrivable southern truck since no banks gonna give you a loan for it like this guy got on his platinum. But he’s the fool.
😂 I couldn’t agree more
Those electric steps are garage in county off road conditions. Great for a pavement princess.
I go through our muddy log yard every day zero issues out of them on 3 different trucks. At times the mud is 6” thick
@americandream_89 my expedition limited disagrees with you. It travels mud, slush, and snow on Montana highways and county roads, and I'm always washing out the joints and lubricating them to keep them working. I prefer the fix boards on my 23 f350.
And who buys black to run in 6" mud? Do you wax and buff every month or is it ceramic coated?
@@kirkcardoso6137 several have said they don’t hold up in extreme cold areas. But I’ve never lubed one joint on my other 2020 superduty. Still works like new and I go to the car wash every Friday. This new 24 is the first one I’ve ceramic coated. But my trucks stay dirty all week and I’ve literally never had one step with issues.
X plan you literally can just get a company and fake a paystub.
What?
IM TIRED OF JOHN DREAKE STEALING CARS FROM ME LOUIE STRIKES AGAIN
You okay?
I still cannot believe how ugly this redesign is. Single wheel SuperDuty’s have always had amazing body lines…. Ford has ruined that now. The grill/headlights are ridiculously large and those bed and bumper steps look horrendous. I will say the interior is nice.
I’m curious if you drive a 6.0 power stroke just going off your name ?
We definitely have a different vision. I absolutely love the new body style. However, I hear your same opinion very commonly. I think the new side step makes the truck look a lot tougher.
@@fordfanatic3307 appreciate it buddy!
The headlights and the whole front end looks like something a child designed
People who complain about the "look" of a certain vehicle usually cannot afford said vehicle - ford salesman and 24 SD owner here
The very second you drive that thing off the lot it drops $30,000 right off the bat.😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
False
Yeah, not true at all. Not even close.
wtf do you do for a living?
I’ve got a couple strands of income. But my sawmill and lumber company pay for this truck.
That ugly orange tremor sticker needs gone
I like it
For the price it at least should be painted on
THEFT
Why over priced piece of junk
Tell me how you really feel 🤣
So we are friends …. Xplan code?
😂 smart man
@@americandream_89 need help with code lol mom use to be able to get it as she would by fleet but retired.
100 grand for a gagged diesel….yeah I’ll find blown up southern truck and stick 30k into a diesel engine that breaths like it should and sounds like it should and still have 50k left over for another truck…you people shelling out 100k for these trucks are…foolish
For people like me it’s a tax right off. I’d rather have a $100 grand truck than the government give a dead beat more ebt
I have a 2017 F350 Platinum. I still love the truck and honestly would kind of hate getting rid of it. Its treated me very well haha. Mine is strictly personal use though. Do you use yours for a business since you say its a tax write off?@americandream_89
@@twhitehead221 I use it for some personal but it’s a business truck and payed for under my business. I really liked my 17 platinum to. It was the start to my ford addiction lol
@@americandream_89 Gotcha! Same here. This one was my first "luxury" truck and my opinion changed as soon as I drove it. I no longer say all of those features are ridiculous, haha. I wish I could pull off the business situation haha. Paying for these without a business type of situation is quite tough. Really nice truck though, enjoy it!
It shouldn't be an issue for you with all that oil money.
