Thanks a lot for your constant work and videos. But - with all the new stuff, the pedal alone gets more and more difficult without a realtime editor. The new FX sounds more basic to me, nothing specular which would make sell my other FX Pedals. There are a lot Parameters missing to dial in like with other pedals from Line 6 or Fractal. IK can has still a long way to go.
Man, you're THE BEST! Thanks to your video, I'm seeing where you need USER MODE needs to be set to ADVANCED to be able to really tweak the effects . This is huge to me, to be able to edit the effects on the pedal. Otherwise, I thought we were limited to on/off. IK needs to put you on their pay roll!
Thanks! Long time Kemper user here. But I just bought the anniversary pedal. Got the 150 tone models plus IK also gave me the Dumble and stomp box models too. Really like what I am hearing.
Thanks Jason for all the many videos over the years. I really appreciate all the help that I've gotten from them. Downloaded the update and it works great,. I used your guitar sounds to try tweaking a preset and loaded it on the pedal. Next part of project will be getting deeper into looking into the morning star so I can control everything.
Thanks Jason, as always for the informative help. Really really enjoyed your outro song!! That was a great demonstration of the tones. Actually, I really appreciate the fact that you do outros on all your videos which helps to see things in context.
Pretty great. Thanks, Jason. I just wish they had added the option to do a low cut and hi cut at the adv eq or cab. It's something i like to use when recording or playing digital sims live sending signal to a PA.
Thanks as ever for the tech tips. They're a real help - I dived in before seeing the video and found things by trial and error, but I'll be much better prepared now after watching this! I love the outro track and the tones you're using. You've sold me on getting them! 😎
I don't even have the big pedal anymore but still couldn't help but watch the video lol great video. I had a disagreement on that trim knob being the same as the gain knob but I was referring to the Tonex pedal I was driving with another Tonex pedal. They sure seemed to reacted much different than each other for me when driving the input of the Tonex with lots of gain or boost. For example, the pedal could sound absolutely horrid if bombarded with tons of boost or gain without the trim turned way down. And in that scenario no matter how much you turn the "gain" down, all that boost into the input of that pedal with the trim even on -3 could still be way over saturating the pedal no matter how much you turn down the "gain" of the pedal having the input driven super hard. But as far as being your first input signal from the guitar or anything without gain or boost they do seem to produce the same results as each other
I've tried everything now and I'm really impressed! All modulation effects sound excellent and I was mostly even able to leave the basic settings. The delays are simple, but sound good and finally there is a usable spring reverb! I had problems with the reverbs before the update. I think the plate reverb sounds great, I didn't liked all the others. I still have one wish: please give us a better room reverb, then I would be completely happy!
Hi, brother!!! It's amazing Update. I've already tested it. Very good. I really liked Delay. The Chorus is perfect too. I haven't had time to test the others yet. Congratulations to your channel, brother!! Thank you for your content here.
Hey Jason! I’m a new Tonex user that is using the MC8. I programmed delay, reverb and modulation into the MC8 successfully with the help of this great vid. 👍🏻 I’m wondering if there is a way to have the FXs from the MC8 stay ON while switching presets in the Tonex. Right now everything goes dry when I switch to another preset. Let me know when you can. Thanks!
I've had a quick play with the effects and run them through the pedal - really inspiring - so much so, I got the idea for a new song. That's got to be the ultimate thumbs-up! 😎
I got the new update with no issue, cool stuff! It's nice to have these effects built in, but I'll probably stick to my separate pedals for ease of operation/tweaking etc..
Hi Jason, thanks for this series of very useful videos. I've just installed the update and it appears to me that to use the new features on presets already in the pedal, you have to use the knobs on the pedal because there is no real-time editor. Is this correct? As a tangent, Tonex users have been complaining about the lack of a real-time editor for a long time; I know you know this. How is it that much cheaper equipment is released with a real -time editor and after two years of complaining IK still hasn't found a will or a way to release one? Sorry for venting, I know you're messenger who always brings good news.
Great Info ...any way to set up expression pedal to control Delay or other parameters on a fly ?....Delay mix/gain/modulation together .instead on/off effects using Expression pedal to blend these in a mix ;) ...Cheers & Thank You
The problem with these new effects is that because there are more of them you now need some sort of a effects loop. If you want to use your own other effects with them. Before tonics was basically mostly just an amp and it could just sit in the middle of your chain now it's trying to be more than that and it doesn't have an effects loop.
@Jason Sadites - The Parameter Knob. When not pressed at all, turning it brings up MODEL.V0 (or is It MODEL.VO ?) for an instant on the display and then a value that appears to Default at 5.0 but is adjustable from 0 to 10. The difference in sound is very slight when turning it, or so I have found so far. Can you tell me what Parameter it is changing in this mode/state ? Excellent information on TONEX btw 👍
Controls for delay, reverb and mod. on my pedal they are different from the controls on the white pedal in the video. On mine there is no delay feedback - for example. I updated yesterday. I have the black Tonekc pedal.
I would like to know why my pedal and software are not the same. If I go direct into my interface. Tonex and all my purchases work. When I use the lines out also with the usb it’s still two different products. I’m missing something.
Someone may have already covered this, but I have a constant ring sound using my Tonex One that doesn't seem to go away even if I lower the input. Is there another setting I need to adjust? Thx
@@JasonSadites No input Trim changes. Maybe my ears are just playing tricks on me today, but the distortion character sounds different across all amps.
None of my zillions of presets showed up after the software and firmware update. The Tone Models did show up, but I now have 0 presets, and even my user folders didn't show up. :(
I just had a revelation... Could i use a tap tempo on this to control the midi clock of other midi devices (like my ditto x4 and my drum machine that doesnt have a specific bpm but a tempo knob)
I have this pedal. I did the updates. I think this pedal needs a better overall explanation. Im missing something. The software and the pedal does what it does, the software does what it does.
So, im so frustrated. Bought Tonex pedal, downlaoded product manager ( after registering) cant open product manager for anything..cant get update..need the midi more than the new stuff..this thing is a door stop waiting to happen
Of all the music gear I have purchased, by far the Tonex platform has been the most frustrating. I haven't been able to update for the last few releases. IK is non responsive to questions. You are on your own. It doesn't sound terrible and is good enough for most uses, but if you experience Fractal or Kemper products you will wonder what these reviewers are going on about.
For real…drives me insane. Have a hard time navigating…then not making things have some weird distortion sound. And different volume levels from one capture to the next. Even purchased a few from Jason. Then was trying to figure out how to get this reverb turned off…manual and all of vids were showing some other stuff. I probably bought a couple hundred captures from different people and figuring out. Meh. About to throw in trash. I may be too old. Volumes going into interface all over the place. See how distorted my mind is now?
I think it's the very nature of this being a computer software program at its heart and they simply made a way to download it's capabilities. I've been getting used to vsts and recording right in the daw and tonex is just really convenient and sounds amazing. If you are not computer savvy it's probably not the device for you. Kemper and QC are akin to Apple as tonex is to PC. It's cheaper and more flexible but comes at a cost of user friendliness.
@@rethinktone I call myself computer savvy. Deal with the garbage all day. But, that interface is meh. So modding the eq is more like an external eq pedal used with an amp. Ist not the same as using the eq on the amp itself. Stay at it, the pedal is great, it just takes some time to get it down.
Thanks Jason - looks like IK have now updated Product Manager and the manuals are now up there.

The big downside is lack of the delay tail spill over between the presets. Also we have a lot of spring reverbs but no shimmer.

When will we be able to do real time editing on the computer like Helix and Fractal? That’s a major negative with the Tonex IMO.
Thank you. Very good info.

Is this update going to come out for the iOS app as well?
Can you save the settings from the Librarian to the pedal with all the tweaks , Or do you have to manually save on pedal ?
Thanks!

Can you set the ToneX pedal so that you can switch back and forth between two sounds with one foot switch, like in the Dual Mode of the ToneX One?
