I like those reinforced points. Compound geometry on historical arms is something I have been into for awhile now. I have found it to be far more common than I originally expected.

Glad to see my tip went in the deepest 🙂

Just to add something to the conversation. When I sharpen knife tips, I use a 60x loupe to check if the taper lines do meet into a sharp point. I can tell there's quite a difference if the tip is pointy or rounded off at that magnification. That also applies if the blade profile meets into a sharp point or not.

Thank you for providing the recording and data of this experiment.
I've always been curious about this. 😂

Would the Albion Castellan sword be mostly two handed or one handed? It says online that it is a Bastard Sword.
Were shields used with this sword type?

      @@robertpatter5509 yes and yes!
All of the above. It is a hand and a half sword. It can be used either way, with or without a shield, in one or two hands. From horse or from foot. Very versatile.

I like that you are very aware of the rigour level when it comes to the scientific method... below MythBusters (I love that you took a jab at them, that show was not that scientific even when they were trying; still fun to watch though 😅). But for real, once you stated that and talked a bit about the aspects that can affect the results, it made me enjoy the artistry of the test even more. 😇

      I do science by day.
Calling this science is stretching it a bit ;-)

      @@dlatrexswords I kinda guessed... I mean, it's quite obvious. :)
