A saying common around here is “if you don’t like the weather, just wait an hour”
Thank you so much for making these videos! I live in Washington county & have hiked the local trails as a child. You are inspiring me to want to get back out there.

I am watching your videos and am wondering where you are from? As an aside please stop apologizing!!! You're doing something most people can't. We love your videos. Thanks for the love from a Wisconsinite!

      Hi Jennifer,
I am from South Carolina. I know..... who knew a South Carolina boy would find a passion for long distance hikes?!?!?! I will try to stop apologizing haha, I guess it is just part of how I speak!

Last summer when you were here was a very strange summer. It would rain & turn to clear skies & sunshine. That would go back & forth all summer. I do a lot of foraging here & it was frustrating for me as well. This summer has been beautiful sunshine & hot the entire summer

Yea I would talk to locals every time I had the chance to ask about the weather and from what I heard there was A LOT A LOT of rain, not the normal.

@@HikingAmerica I love your channel man. There's a ton of other really beautiful, much more scenic parks here I wish the Ice Age went through so you could see. We just finished the AZT series now watching your Vancouver series. Awesome channel & you definitely don't talk too much.

Having lived in Wisconsin for 40 years I've come to believe that it's the abundance of lakes in the region that create wildly changing weather. I dont know many other places in the United States that have as much standing and moving water. Just my theory. Easiest job in the world is weathermen. They can be wrong all the time. It's like playing roulette, but the dealer never says "no more bets".

September can be either the best month for weather, or its just a wet sticky nightmare. Unfortunately you had one of the wet years. We also have only 2 seasons: mosquito/road construction and frozen tundra.

Just wondering if you ever got your shoes after they bounced around the US Postal Servce in Wisconsin.Maybe they pop up in a future video? I will have to watch more of them. I probably would have stayed in Westfield, Wisconsin another day or two to see if they showed up. You don't seem to stop in the bars or other places to stop to talk to local folks. Everyone makes different decisions about time on trips. You have a super fast intense hiking pace. I am watching all of these Ice Age Trail thru hiking videos and following the Ice Age Trail Alliance Atlas along with the hikes. I plan to do segment hikes but not thru hikes. Good for you that you achieved all this before the pandemic hit! I have had packages bounce around as well but am just curious about whether you ever got the shoes that were supposed to be there in Westfield.

Have completed 800 miles of the IAT so far section hiking. Really enjoying your videos and recognizing many of the places I have been. Dont know if anyone answered your question on what the big birds are if not they are Sandhill Cranes. Good luck you are really ripping off the miles.

You literally missed the best part of the IAT by leaving out devils lake. Literally disappointed I’ve watched it so long to only see it was missed

I hiked devils lake? Possibly a future video or previous… but I hiked it, don’t remember what day it was but I remember the ups and downs around it, it’s in these videos somewhere
