As a Wisconsin resident, I find it very odd that people wouldn't think of outdoor recreation when they think of WI. The Devil's Lake area, Lake Michigan and Lake Superior, the Mississippi and Wisconsin Rivers, 15,000 other lakes and 84,000 miles of rivers, the Northwoods, Native American history, summer cabin culture, hunting, fishing, canoeing, unique rock formations, the Apostle Islands, bluffs, cross-country and downhill skiing, snowmobiling, fall colors... we have a lot. It's maybe not on the insane scale of places out west, but there is a lot to explore and do.

Really nice seeing the IAT online a bit more the last few years. Coree Woltering and north face covering his FKT, guys like Dan Beker who have pretty massive hiker/backpacking TH-cam followings, more videos popping up online all the time. My own(how ever insignificant), constatine’s thruhike, a bunch of others.
Just really nice seeing all those yellow blazes.
My thanks to all the trail volunteers for giving us all so much pleasure.

Hey you all at Backpacker Magazine, great job showcasing the state where I grew up! May I also suggest checking out the Wisconsin side of the Mississippi for fun canoeing, kayaking and camping, and the "Driftless Area" in SE Wisconsin - amazing terrain, also, left over from the Ice Age. My friends and I have camped in many of the Wisconsin state parks, and are impressed with their beauty and many adventuring options.

Who is the girl from Yellow Wood? Wow! She's stunningly gorgeous and did a kickass job explaining everything. She really knows her stuff. Made me want to get out there and hike some trails right now. Cool looking shop too. Shoutout to all the dogs hanging out.
