aspect ratio on Gonky's vid is a bit artistic
It started life at 1080P/30FPS. No idea why it's 720/60 now. The rest is zoomed in because the folks at Wings aren't set up for streaming/recording. They are using the DCS repeater at low res with the MSAA mask enabled. In order to get rid of it, you have to zoom in. Mine doesn't have that problem because I use a 4K repeater for DCS and mirror what the VR is seeing with no mask.
What were you expecting? Anything is boring. Gonky is hilarious.

My guy never set the Mudhen to take off trim and flaps down lol. It'll take off by itself basically

Gonky in this video is like when I'm learning a new module in DCS. Mashing random buttons and hoping for the best.

The Eagle is a interesting one to learn. It’s a blend of F-14 and F-18. At least in this sim. Sloppy up high and easy to over G down low. I think I’m still a Viper guy!

This cracked me up so much. :) Very fun! As fantastic as DCS is (especially in VR), I appreciate how you don't take it so seriously and just have fun with it.
Somehow I don't think Gonky really needs to worry about getting the gun to work.

The weapon selector on the Mudhen is a switch on the throttle called the weapon mode switch. Push it aft and you select the gun.
Then use the coolie switch for different gun modes.
Hope that helps. Unless Gonky has already unbuggered himself.

I gotta a question when did the F-16 falcon change names to viper?
Basically since its inception. Pilots/maintainers thought it looked like the Viper from Battlestar Galactica.
It's pretty common thing. A10 was officially called Thunderbolt. But always called a Warthog. Huey's real name was Iroquois and on and one. Of course, Cobra was always cobra because.....well Cobra!
F-16 net has a good article on the Viper's names (look up "F-16 Fighting Falcon, F16, or Viper?" by Stefaan Vanhastel), here an excerpt:
"Lt. Col. Pat "Gums" McAdoo, USAF Ret., one of the first F-16 pilots at Hill AFB, recalls the origin of the name "F-16 Viper":
At end of runway, the F-16 did resemble a cobra or something as it approached you. However, I think Northrop had already taken that name for the YF-17.
We all voted, and Viper came in really high. Seems there was a series on TV that had 'colonial Vipers' flying off of Battlestar Galactica (a term later used for the Eagle).
In any case, the Generals didn't want a plane 'named after some snake'!"

The F-15 is doesn't have the high alpha capability of the F-18. I am sure it will take some getting used to. Great video, you guys made my day.
That F-15E definitely had CFTs. Very draggy things, especially the BRU racks in a turn.

It was a hilarious weekend in the online servers for sure... it was full of mudhens asking "how do i turn on my radar" "how do i turn on my lantirn" "why i cant change weapon" ...a ton of "friendly fire" (well i guess it wasnt friendly anymore afterwards)

Funny you guys should do a drag race as my buddies decided they wanted to do the same thing with the 14, 15E, 16, and the F/A-18. At 5k, 15k, and 30k feet. All aircraft two bagging it but clean otherwise. The 16 just kilt it on all altitudes. I was in the 16 and I was surprised. I thought the 14 and 15E would take over at 30k thanks to the two engines but nope I won every time.
This is why Gonky can’t have nice things
So when are you gonna fly the Mudhen Mover?
I hope Razbam will put an AI WSO in the future for F-15E, and I can't think of a better callsign for that WSO other than "MOVER".

Do you record in VR, and if so do you do any stabilization? I've tried to stream in VR and learned that apparently my head twitches around like an excitable squirrel...
I record in VR using shadow play. No stabilization.

Yeah it seems the hornet is perfect medium. F16 is ez mode everything is very intuitive. F18 is almost the same just alot more of it to worry about and the f15e looks convoluted as fuck
