To all of yall who are even half serious about the Gonky pilot joke thing - the guy doesn't have a DCS set up. He's using the setup they have at Wings Pensacola. What we see on youtube is basically every bit of time he has had on DCS - he has zero practice in between. Don't know about you guys but I think I kinda remember what I was like on my 3rd-4th hour in DCS :)

Great video, you guys are hilarious! It never ceases to impress how naturally you maneuver the airplane - even without all of the kinetic feedback it's like the plane is an extension of yourself. I also love the VR, it's fascinating to be able to see where you're looking/focused!

Not having watched this vid yet i'd say 15%. he has had trouble with the game in a few vids and the last vid where they were drag racing gonky had lots of problems. Mover is also flying an aircraft he knows well.
I keep thinking it would be fun to have a charity that provides flight sim experiences to kids who are hospitalized long-term. Some sort of setup on a rolling cart, VR optional, win-wing controls, etc.

That’s the standard. Allows recording of DED data as you said. Plus you can see the info in the HUD.

Apparently DCS has configured the F-15E as a missile truck and not a fighter.
That is it’s role in real life. It’s a bomber before a fighter and she’s HEAVY now

I’ve gotten some time in the sim strike eagle, great in BVR. Enough to survive in BFM but I haven’t won a set against anything but a mig 29
It doesn’t survive in bfm the Ai are just bad in dcs.

The strike eagle? It can’t dogfight the fm is correct.
@@RW-zn8vyit should be SLIGHTLY closer to the Charlie in BFM, it’s only about 3000 pounds heavier, but with more thrust. Either way it’s just not going to hang with a viper or hornet
@@Jacksonflax no it shouldn’t, even strike eagle pilots admit after one turn it’s pretty much over. It has too much drag it’s too heavy.

Naw, he was just trying to re-create the Chris Strickland 'Thunderbird' ejection & crash at the Mountain Home Airshow a while back..
And he pretty much got it spot on, actually..in fact..(wrong aircraft type not withstanding), he got it about (almost) perfect..he just didn't get that signature, perfect ejection shot like Capt. Chris did..

Can we get a Viper guy, that can perfectly revisit & recreate that perfect ejection 'still shot' & crash in DCS..?
I recall AVweb covered it, and the specifics of what was to be flown, vs what went wrong, so the details should be available.
Or you can just fake it until you make it, I guess..that may well be even more gleaming bar of solid comedy gold..🤣
Only an act of god would let Gonky (or anyone else) get a gun kill in the F-15E.
