Due to how forgotten that game is, that game is long overdue for a re-release. People NEED to be reminded of it's existence and where it takes place in the timeline!
Imagine this being a prequel to A Link to the Past and they make the next Zelda game in this style as an 'A Link Between Worlds' remake for the Switch 2.
something I just noticed that you missed as well, at 10:50 we can see Zelda using 4 water blocks and thus using 4 of the triangles from Tri, leaving her with 0 left. Meanwhile at 20:50 we see zelda has used 2 of those spider enemies, each using 2 triangles to a total of 4 as can be seen in the top right, however even after this Tri still has one of these triangles left, meaning that there's some way to increase the max amount of objects you can summon
I think that the yellow rocks are a place where you can reload the tri cost, the triangle that hang off the back of Tri. The trailer shows that each echo costs triangles that come from Tri, and Tri gets more triangles throughout the trailer. just a theory, but it does make sense based on the games play-style.
It looks like you immediately get your triangles back after a spawned item disappears. When the meat is consumed by the crows, at 15:30 in the video, the triangle used to spawn the meat immediately gets returned to Zelda. Unless you are talking about something else?
all of Links gear in the beginning of the trailer, seems like zonai gear, the sword and cape with the swirls but even the aesthetics of the bow he shoots to free Zelda has the same patterns you see in a lot of Zonai architecture, so my guess is theyre fully integrating Zonai lore within the Zelda series, which makes sense in terms of renewal.
I'm pretty sure the sword Link is holding on the cover is different from the one he held in the intro, if you look closely, the sword he held in the beginning cross guard had a symmetrical angled swirl motif and a faceted blade, while the one on the cover has a blade with a more diamond profile with a fuller and an asymmetrical cross guard
additionally it looks like the hylian shield might also be different as it seems to have a distinctly more purple hue on the cover image compared to intro sequence
I have a crazy theory about this game, let's say the guards did get corrupted and that's why zelda is in a cell at the start, if they r corrupted, why couldn't other characters be, like, potentially, link? The box art gives me vibes that link could be evil in this game and you might even have to fight him at one point, i mean, we have no clue what these rifts are capable of, so it might just be as simple as, they take characters to other dimensions, but there might be a lot more to it, and maybe that's why zelda wears the robe, to trick ppl into thinking she's link, and to be honest, i think it would be cool to have an evil link, I'm just not 100% sure with how much we've seen so far
@@demi-qs5zc Nah, I don't think it's that. He goes on to suggest that the different Zora are from different timelines via the rifts. However, they both exist in the same timeline... Both Zora are in the Oracles, and that timeline includes Links Awakening where the remake shares graphics with this. Also, it's the seemingly the same Hyrule map as ALttP and ALBW as well as sharing the Ganon from that version of Hyrule. Though, we don't know what timeline this in(and timelines are kind of farcical to begin with) I'd say it's pretty safe to assume it's the one that has all of these shared elements from the games that are all in the same timeline. Labrinna is a country, not a world and if it's that timeline then yeah... Both Zora do exist in the same world.
Realistically speaking, after the princess just escaped Ganon's clutches, I doubt the Hylian Knights are all that willing to let Zelda run off and put herself in danger again during a new catastrophe. So I'd imagine she had to escape the castle in disguise, if the Knights aren't possessed at least. As for the jail cell scene... I think it's possible Zelda closed the door herself in order to make sure Tri didn't escape. Or maybe she just happened to crawl in from a secret entrance without touching the main doorway.
The hoodie that link was wearing at the beginning of the trailer look like it has a zonai design and the bow that link uses to shoot Zelda out of the crystal look like a zonai bow that u would get in totk
An idea I have is that you start with 3 triangles and with each dungeon or mini dungeon you do you can get another triangle. I don’t think this is the main prize for the dungeons but maybe if there are mini dungeons that you can get kinda like a heart piece
The octorok on the cover is actually in the water. I have 3 notions for timeline placement. 1 - Forgotten timeline, pre Zelda 3 2 - Child timeline, pre Twilight Princess or maybe even post Four Swords Adventure 3 - Reboot timeline distant past pre destruction of old Hyrule
I bet that Echoes of Wisdom will go to the Fallen Hero Timeline (taking place after A Link to the Past and before A Link Between Worlds). I can tell with the graphics from the Switch version of Link’s Awakening and the map similar to the one in A Link to the Past. I don’t know where to place it around Link’s Awakening and the Oracle series.
@@Og-McQueen The Map shown in the Trailer is literally the one from a Link to the Past, 2:57 you can both see the Fairy Island in Lake Hylia and the Eastern Palace from Link to the Past/LTTP. Nin10doland goes into more detail, but you get the Jig, Plus Ganon has used this in most of the Downfall Timeline like (ALBW and LTTP) along with Link shown in Link's Awakening (The Remake to be Specific) which is connected to Link to the Past, Timeline-wise.
@@TherealSwitchVHS I know but how do you explain the characters from other timelines like the deli tree and sprout. You probably know that Nintendo is consistent with the maps, and if you tilt the map to the right you have death mountain on top right and a snowy mountain ( maybe mount lanayru ) in the bottom right. If you consider matpat s theory that hyrule warriors is cannon it explains the tow zora tribes and deku tree and sprout
Could be before a link to the past, but after ocarina of time or maybe after the oracle games. Only two games use that design for zelda oracles and ocarina
I just realized the castle roof. I recognized it. It's green like smash bros. Maybe it is an ocarina of time sequel again, or they just reused the design in a new art style.
It's crazy how big this game seems. The area we see in the intro cutscene is pretty big but I don't think we can see any of the gerudo or faron (assuming faron is a rainforest like botw) which will likely be in the south like botw. They might be in the opposite sides to botw though because the Hebra and eldin regions are also inverted
Both types of zora have appeared together in a handheld zelda before. The "classic zora" are called river zora, and the "modern zora" are called sea zora; at least in the English version of said handheld Zelda game. Edits: • removed unneeded emphasis quotation marks.
The main thing I noticed was... what is the multi-select in the top corner for? Maybe if you find different items that do different things, you can press a different arrow for each thing.
I'm not surprised by the way the story is. I always said that one day Link needed to be captured or get into some sort of trouble. That Zelda herself she saves Link. Almost every like mind Zelda fan disagreed with my idea. (Because they scared of change) Scared of an already good formula changing a bit and possibly ruining the franchise. Now in 2024, this gets announced. I'm happy that this is coming out. Those Nay sayers are still going to buy and play the game. I'm only saying, "Nintendo, why haven't you done this years ago?" So many things that they can do with the Zelda franchise and they moving like turtles. But shout outs to Nintendo for finally doing this. Can't wait to play it.
no matter how cool it is we are getting a new Zelda game, to me this exactly depicts what I was worried about when putting Zelda in the lead in a TLoZ game, which is swordplay. trust me, using enemies as a spell to fight other enemies might seem fun at first, but will get stale really fast if you are constantly outside of the action. Imagine Link having this ability/staff, being able to summon enemy spawns and combining your sword attacks with the attacks of the summons. that is a whole different dynamic than summoning an enemy spawn and Zelda throwing a rock at an enemy in the background. im not saying they won't expand upon Zelda's abilities, but people, including myself are going to miss swordplay eventually( and I dont think that Sheikah was teaching Zelda a technique, rather it could be an elaborate summon which takes out most enemies on screen like the medaillons did in A Link to the Past.) always thought IF they found it necessary to release a game with Zelda as the protagonist, they should've gone for one with an adult Zelda who is able to switch between her Sheik form and her regular form ( Sheik for hand to hand/ melee combat and regular Zelda for magic), in a time period after Link got send back in time for instance. dont want to be that guy, but I really hoped they wouldn't go for a Zelda lead game. I know a lot of people are excited and th world looks amazing, but how everybody was going wild thinking Tears of the Kingdom might feature a playable Zelda, I now hope that at some point in the game you can also play as Link in this iteration of hyrule, because the 2,5D top down world looks awesome. ah well guess we will see. little bummed we probably won't get a new Zelda with Link as a lead for a couple of years now. dont wanna be a party pooper, but yeah...
One of the things I haven’t seen people talk about was the Hylian Shield which Link is geared with. If I am not mistaken the shield had that appearance in the Link’s Awakening (Switch) but not in the original, and other than that it only appeared like that in a 2D Zelda game in A Link Between Worlds!
a couple of things 1. the original death mountain in alttp was incorrectly translated from japanese. it was originally called mount hebra (which is why the tower of hera is even called hera), and we did finally get the original name for hebra in botw. so it's possible they decided to lean more towards the snowy mountain hebra in this game and added an entirely new death mountain 2. sea zora do appear in oracle of ages, you mentioned gorons in seasons but im surprised the zora also being around in seasons wasn't mentioned 3. speaking of the oracle games, theres only like two other games where ganon has red eyes: four swords adventures has a ganon with black eyes and red pupils, while oracle ganon is more accurate with red eyes and yellow irises in the artwork. it wouldn't make sense if it took place at the end of the oracle games since link and zelda are in another kingdom, but it's interesting 4. i think an important thing to note is zelda's dress. it's a mix of the oot style (which was also reused in oosa) and the alttp/albw style with the sleeves, cape (also used in oosa), headdress design, and lack of gloves in exchange for bracelets. her main outfit in this game also reminds me of alttp zelda's blue dress, just purplish pink
Of course both versions of zoras can be in the same game. It has already happened. In oracle of ages, Link visits a colony of modern zoras. I recall a zora NPC telling you not to confuse them with the vile river zoras. This is very interesting. The 2 types of zoras seem to have been competing with each other and the ocean zoras won. This is just the first time we see both types on screen at the same time
It definitely looks like ALttP Hyrule, but expanded. If I were to guess, I would say that the entirety of that map is in the game (but with some differences, a la ALBW), but that you can also go beyond it. Like, we don't know what's west of the Lost Woods... so sure, they can put a volcano there.
Ok hear me out, What if the mechanical octorock toy thing is a consumable items that you can obtain from the scientist. Maybe you can buy more of them using rupees and get different ones as well throughout the game.
I also saw in the part where zelda is on the beds to get to gerudo town (I think its gerudo town) the bottom bed starts flashing yellow, so I believe each item has a time limit for how long it stays
Prior to the Direct, my hopeful call was a remake of A Link to the Past. Seeing the key landscape features, it looks like I was closer to ALttP than I initially thought!
I think this game will take place along the same storyline as ALTTP, or at least in the same version of Hyrule. My guess is when Link defeats Ganon, they get sucked into a time warp of some sort, putting them pretty far into the future, which would explain the similar layout but new additions to the kingdom. Maybe that isn’t the Gerudo desert, but a future version of the Desert Of Mystery that now has a town. I’m not thrilled about Zelda being the main character but I am excited to see the throwbacks to ALTTP in a modern game.
My guess is that Zelda will only be able to jump on top of echoes of objects (like tables and beds) and not echoes of monsters. As for why she's able to ride the Blade Trap Echo, considering that you've never been able to defeat Blade Traps, they're probably classified as objects and not monsters.
Nothing prevents Zelda from having other items besides the Tri-Rod though. Canonically, there are times when she shows magic potential, and while not as often, she does use a bow. The games have a lot of other rods and magic items as well, so there may be other types of attacks that don't require a somewhat quirky summon mechanic. The UI shows additional spaces on the DPad and the rod is simply an item there, so I can only guess there will be other things too. Also, for the robo-octorok, it doesn't have triangles and the UI is hidden in those scenes. Also, she only has three triangles in the scenes with the shiekah and in the dungeon, but four later on, so upgrading the fairy certainly looks like a mechanic. It is called Echoes of Wisdom, and I assume that's because they want to highlight why Zelda is worthy of the Triforce like Link and his courage. Zelda is supposed to lead the kingdom after the fall of Ganon, so building relationships would certainly be her thing. Also, in the intro scene, the two guards that meet her bow to her, so there is some difference between those guards and the ones in the castle.
I think that rather than getting heart containers in the temples, Zelda get tri pieces, since we only see her with three hearts but a growing number of tri pieces. Did you miss it?
In 21:03 you can actually see that the fairy now has 5 of the Triangles following her because Zelda spawned two "Skulltulas" that both take 2 Triangles, and the fairy still has one. So basically this means that you can get more of the triangles as further you progress in the game. Fire Video Like and Follow
I want to see this style continued for at least another 5 games lol, like how we get 3D platfomer mario games as a series and sidescrolling mario as a seperate series.
Itll be cool if the game just starts as us controlling link at the entrance to wherever hes saving Zelda from and play as him with the sword, sort of the end of his journey. Then do that transition into zelda gameplay
Perhaps those purple portals are different times... Therefore, I think that Zoras are coming from the past and meeting with modern Zoras... meaning there is time travel involved.
Ganon is a dark version of an echo, Zelda has also probably been replaced by one thus her being in the dungeon, and she will probably have to fight a dark echo of link
We are looking at the map for the bottom right corner, not straight ahead (north). So the volcano isn't where the lost forest was. It's to the left of the lost forest.
Just a theory, but maybe this is the beginning of the Breath of the Wild timeline. Here me out, in the mat pat's theory Hyrule Warriors is cannon and originates the Breath of the Wild when Cia reunites all timelines, so this might be after it, explaining why we have two Zora tribes ( the hostil one eventually evolves into normal Zora), and other characters like the Great Deku Tree. And If you tilt the map to the right it actually kinda resembles the map from Breath of the Wild, with the castle in the center, Death Mountain in the top right and a snowy mountain in the bottom right ( aka mount Lanayru), and we know that canon is tired of reincarnating and completes eliminates his human form and this is what we are seeing, ganon is a bipedal boar that eventually evolves into a pure demon, like in breath of the wild. This theory has some flaws like the map not being that equal, since it is very look a like to the one of A Link To the Past and we don't where Gerudo is, but I think Nintendo didn't added Death Mountain or Mount Lanayru with no reason. I could also hypothesize that the Rito are out of the map or still vulnerable but that's just speculation.
You say at about the 12:13 mark that having a desert area would be new for A Link to the Past, that’s false, the second dungeon is in a desert. No gerudos but definitely a desert.
It would be cool to see in this game if this explain how BOTW Zelda has the full triforce yet doesn’t know of it’s wishing power and seemingly timeline’s merge to the single BOTW and TOTK timeline

Can't wait to find the dumbest thing in the game and use it to destroy all my enemies
The teacup
A Lynel, imagine how op this would be
I think tri leads zelda down to the dungeon telepathically like how zelda did in lttp
all of Links gear in the beginning of the trailer, seems like zonai gear, the sword and cape with the swirls but even the aesthetics of the bow he shoots to free Zelda has the same patterns you see in a lot of Zonai architecture, so my guess is theyre fully integrating Zonai lore within the Zelda series, which makes sense in terms of renewal.
I would like to see Gorons in this style
I'm pretty sure the sword Link is holding on the cover is different from the one he held in the intro, if you look closely, the sword he held in the beginning cross guard had a symmetrical angled swirl motif and a faceted blade, while the one on the cover has a blade with a more diamond profile with a fuller and an asymmetrical cross guard
additionally it looks like the hylian shield might also be different as it seems to have a distinctly more purple hue on the cover image compared to intro sequence
6:28 I think those are the houses of the deku scrubs, since they are also shown in the trailer
In the trailer death mountain looks to be farther to the left than the lost woods.
5:32
Dude, Gorons were definitely in LTTP
The two Zora species have been in the same game together before
I would watch the new zeltik video
Oracle of ages?
yes, but they’ve never co-existed in hyrule before! i believe that’s why he said world at 17:55 as the oracle games take place in labrynna.
@demi-qs5zc I mean, Labrynna is like another country in the same part of the timeline, so him saying world is a bit confusing
@@isaiahreed6924 Also Seasons with a Linked Game.
1 - Forgotten timeline, pre Zelda 3
2 - Child timeline, pre Twilight Princess or maybe even post Four Swords Adventure
3 - Reboot timeline distant past pre destruction of old Hyrule
I think its before breath of the wild and after hyrule warriors, yes it is cannon watch mat pat's video or read my comment
9:15 i really hope that's kakariko village, it's always been my favourite area
I bet that Echoes of Wisdom will go to the Fallen Hero Timeline (taking place after A Link to the Past and before A Link Between Worlds). I can tell with the graphics from the Switch version of Link’s Awakening and the map similar to the one in A Link to the Past. I don’t know where to place it around Link’s Awakening and the Oracle series.
since when does graphics tell what timeline a game is, then twilight princess is before ocarina of time a little after skyward's sword. LOL
Less gooo nin10doland uploaded
Video starts:
"TENDO just announced a brand new Legend of Zelda game"
First to say cant wait to spawn horde of enemys and water blocks
There is definitely gonna be a limit for spawning to prevent people from doing stuff like that.
Also looks like the enemies you summon start glowing after a bit of time. Maybe they only last so long before going away.
Her smash 6 moveset is gonna go crazy tho
It's crazy how big this game seems. The area we see in the intro cutscene is pretty big but I don't think we can see any of the gerudo or faron (assuming faron is a rainforest like botw) which will likely be in the south like botw. They might be in the opposite sides to botw though because the Hebra and eldin regions are also inverted
Both types of zora have appeared together in a handheld zelda before.
The "classic zora" are called river zora, and the "modern zora" are called sea zora; at least in the English version of said handheld Zelda game.

• removed unneeded emphasis quotation marks.
I wonder if you will start out the game playing as link, to defeat ganon.
I love this art style, glad it’s back
CONGRATULATIONS TO 300K!!! ❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Does anyone else think this is kinda like the BOTW physics engine test version of zelda 1?
The main thing I noticed was... what is the multi-select in the top corner for? Maybe if you find different items that do different things, you can press a different arrow for each thing.
1:58 a link to the past is the name of that game*
Similar like a link to the past. This is gonna be fun!!
no matter how cool it is we are getting a new Zelda game, to me this exactly depicts what I was worried about when putting Zelda in the lead in a TLoZ game, which is swordplay. trust me, using enemies as a spell to fight other enemies might seem fun at first, but will get stale really fast if you are constantly outside of the action.
Imagine Link having this ability/staff, being able to summon enemy spawns and combining your sword attacks with the attacks of the summons. that is a whole different dynamic than summoning an enemy spawn and Zelda throwing a rock at an enemy in the background. im not saying they won't expand upon Zelda's abilities, but people, including myself are going to miss swordplay eventually( and I dont think that Sheikah was teaching Zelda a technique, rather it could be an elaborate summon which takes out most enemies on screen like the medaillons did in A Link to the Past.)
always thought IF they found it necessary to release a game with Zelda as the protagonist, they should've gone for one with an adult Zelda who is able to switch between her Sheik form and her regular form ( Sheik for hand to hand/ melee combat and regular Zelda for magic), in a time period after Link got send back in time for instance.
dont want to be that guy, but I really hoped they wouldn't go for a Zelda lead game.
Hm, how very fascinating, I guess we’ll see what will be the case.
I wonder if this Game might take place before BotW & TotK?
One of the things I haven’t seen people talk about was the Hylian Shield which Link is geared with. If I am not mistaken the shield had that appearance in the Link’s Awakening (Switch) but not in the original, and other than that it only appeared like that in a 2D Zelda game in A Link Between Worlds!
a couple of things
1. the original death mountain in alttp was incorrectly translated from japanese. it was originally called mount hebra (which is why the tower of hera is even called hera), and we did finally get the original name for hebra in botw. so it's possible they decided to lean more towards the snowy mountain hebra in this game and added an entirely new death mountain
2. sea zora do appear in oracle of ages, you mentioned gorons in seasons but im surprised the zora also being around in seasons wasn't mentioned
3. speaking of the oracle games, theres only like two other games where ganon has red eyes: four swords adventures has a ganon with black eyes and red pupils, while oracle ganon is more accurate with red eyes and yellow irises in the artwork. it wouldn't make sense if it took place at the end of the oracle games since link and zelda are in another kingdom, but it's interesting
4. i think an important thing to note is zelda's dress. it's a mix of the oot style (which was also reused in oosa) and the alttp/albw style with the sleeves, cape (also used in oosa), headdress design, and lack of gloves in exchange for bracelets. her main outfit in this game also reminds me of alttp zelda's blue dress, just purplish pink
This is just the first time we see both types on screen at the same time
I think that hood is just a Hylian Hood. Different pattern, but nothing says all Hylian Hoods always use the same pattern.
12:46 maybe zelda is pretending to be link for some reason
It definitely looks like ALttP Hyrule, but expanded. If I were to guess, I would say that the entirety of that map is in the game (but with some differences, a la ALBW), but that you can also go beyond it. Like, we don't know what's west of the Lost Woods... so sure, they can put a volcano there.
congrats on 300k
Ok hear me out,
What if the mechanical octorock toy thing is a consumable items that you can obtain from the scientist. Maybe you can buy more of them using rupees and get different ones as well throughout the game.
I was going mad wondering if anybody else noticed the similarities to a link to the past! It’s so cool!
17:14 my theory is that this is Impa. Impa has been Zelda’s caretaker in the 2d games and oot. And is depicted as an old lady in lots of the games
22:26 the redead looks more like the one from Ocarina of Time
My guess is that Zelda will only be able to jump on top of echoes of objects (like tables and beds) and not echoes of monsters.
So many good details in such a small trailer :D
17:36 whats going on with the small zora to the left. bro is in complete shock
Pretty sure Death Mountain is further left of the Lost Woods. So, in A Link to the Past and A Link Between Worlds, it would be off the map.
15:55 something purple on the tree is literally just another bird. They have purple beaks
The glowing rocks are the same color as the TRI triangles. Maybe you collect shards and you can use them to add more echoes at a time
Ganon is a dark version of an echo, Zelda has also probably been replaced by one thus her being in the dungeon, and she will probably have to fight a dark echo of link
Wanna see ALL Zelda Trailers? th-cam.com/video/5nPlIPLN9UU/w-d-xo.html
The Deku Tree actually did appear in Oracle of Ages which is a 2d games.
They should have called this The Legend of Link
Good job with the amount of trianhles that you need for the echoes
It would be cool to see in this game if this explain how BOTW Zelda has the full triforce yet doesn’t know of it’s wishing power and seemingly timeline’s merge to the single BOTW and TOTK timeline
