It looks like Zelda might actually be manifesting Tri - she's holding out her right hand when Tri appears. I think the difference in the number of triangles trailing Tri are emblematic of the Wisdom she's attained/developed. Link often has to earn his courage triforce, or become a hero before it becomes realized in him. Zelda must have to truly embody Wisdom to complete her quest to rescue her friend, her people and seal the rifts.
It seems that in Japan, Zelda’s echo ability is also translated as “borrowing.” Saw several Japanese fans enjoy how cute that idea is, that the beloved princess borrows from all over Hyrule.
At different points, Tri sometimes had only 3 triangles and sometimes 4. The implication being that you can upgrade Tri throughout the game to use more echos at a time and probably also summon more complex echos. Seeing as Tri clearly functions as the magic meter, it makes sense that they would be upgradable.
@@hyperinfinity2029 He clearly says at #65, such as when she exits castle town, that Tri has only 3 triangles. Even stops to make this side point. Yet clearly we can see Tri has 4 and 4 shadows following her. That's kind of weird to point this out when the video contradicts what you say.
A few things about the races of Hyrule in this game: First, in the big overview shot, you can see structures and what looks like a giant sign of a Goron face on Death mountain, seemingly confirming gorons. Second, the clear Breath of the Wild inspiration of the designs of the Sheikah and Sea Zora, as well as just the presence of Sea Zora and Gerudo who were previously very uncommon in top down games, might suggest more Breath of the Wild races will make their top-down debut. Koroks alongside the Deku Tree for instance. Or Rito in the snow-covered mountain peaks. And third, we could maybe see a setup for each major area of the game to have a primary race present. We can see various areas in this trailer that historically correspond with many of the races we know are in the game. Hyrule Castle and Hylians, Kakariko Village and Sheikah, Zora River and Zora, Death Mountain and Gorons, and the jungle area could easily be full of Deku Scrubs like Majora's Mask.
3:04 From a developer's perspective, making Link playable only in the beginning would require the devs to program a sword-fighting control scheme for Link and a completely different Tri-Rod control scheme for Zelda, the latter of which will be used for the vast majority of the game. If Link's opening sword-fight is just a cutscene, it would save the devs the trouble of programming a control scheme that will see little use if any. Plus, his jump-spin attack seen in the teaser looks like an advanced move, which would make it especially wasteful to program it and then rarely use it. But in a cutscene, a jump-spin attack would add cinematic value no matter how infrequently we see it throughout the game.
If he's payable in the beginning that means he'll be later in the game. Who knows maybe an unlockable 2 players mini-adventure mode as a teaser for future game development after you beat the game with Zelda.
Maybe he is playable but there is a alternate story route that unlocks AFTER you beat the game the first time where you can play from the beginning again but as Link traversing the void potentially trying to stop it from spreading.
It really rubs me the wrong way when people pretend to know which engine this is running on. Nintendo has a couple of Unreal Engine games but Link's Awakening on Switch isn't one of them, also just because Echoes of Wisdom shares the art style with Link's Awakening doesn't mean that it's running on the same engine as that game. Tears of the Kingdom not running on the same engine as Breath of the Wild is a prime example of this, it's using the Switch Sports / Splatoon 3 engine.
I think you've got it wrong there. From what I've read in some places (it's difficult to get that info from Nintendo), TotK is not a new engine. It uses the BotW engine that has been enhanced, and Splatoon 3 and Sports would have been developed on this improved engine, NOT the other way around.
Since Zelda wields the Tri Rod for creative puzzle solving and spawning monsters to attack your enemies, I hope Nintendo hasn’t forgotten her divine power, her intellect (as a scholar), her time power (since she is the Sage of Time) and her signature weapon- her Bow of Light. They are very important parts to Princess Zelda. And what they've could of help the geoglyph memories in the TOTK side story we only get a glimpse of her journey in the distant past. I hope more reveals will be shown before Echoes of Wisdom is released this September’s
Great video, again! It's amazing to see all the refences and parallels / paradoxes in this new Hyrule. The most poignant ones for me were the ALTTP one and Twilight where Zelda is (appears?) incarcerated again - but this time instead of a Wolf it's a cute little Mulldozer like Fairy!
And then we have heard rumors about the playable Zelda in Tears of the Kingdom. It could've help the story out since it is divided into two. Sadly we may not happened which is disappointing to us fans.
7:49 [#61] Tri has 4 triangles in the shot you're referencing. If you look closely 2 of the triangles are simply aligned towards the camera overlapping each other. And the all four are casting their round shadows on the ground.
9:43 [#70] Given the mistaken counts up until this point, it's clear this scene is not the first one where Tri gets upgraded. #61 is the first time we see Tri with 4 triangles, but it's mostly unclear when this takes place. Could be at any time after she leaves the castle's dungeon. Also, Zelda never creates 4 tables during this scene, but it is clear she could have.
Starting at the castle exit and in every scene afterwards, Tri has four triangles. Sometimes they are showing edge on, but you can see there are shadows for four of them at the castle exit. In the following scenes it is more obvious.
At 8:47 you said Tri had 3 triangles, where there's actually 4. Take a closer look at the shadows underneath Tri! I love this content, thanks so much for the in-depth work you do 😍🤝
note that a lot of assumption is done based on tri and zelda's hearts, but it's likely that debug tools were used to jump around and capture footage they wanted for the trailer. so this may be entirely misleading of place within the game order, especially since we never see any more than that.
Corrupted Link? So basically, Federation Force but it's Zelda this time. Got it! Even though the assumption of a possessed Link is based solely on the purplish pink void aura around Link and Ganon, and no actual concrete evidence to back that assumption.
Another detail I still haven't seen anyone mention is that Link has a different sword in the box art compared to the one he's seen wielding in game fighting against Ganon.
I haven’t seen anyone talk about this yet, but I thought it’s interesting that the echo mechanic is in some way triforce-powered, since the triforce directly relates to the golden goddesses who are “the creators.” And this ability is thus a temporary reenactment of creation, being that Zelda only carries 1 of the 3 pieces. I wonder if Link and Gannon also get to harness a facet of their own triforce in this game.
Since the graphic style is similar to Link's awaking, I hope it does included animated cutscenes. Maybe get a glimpses of some Zelink moments (since Zelda wears Link's Hood). I can see how the agonized Princess of Hyrule will have to confront the corrupted Link to free her hero.
It almost seems like this is going to be an alternate timeline of A Link To The Past where after Link defeats Ganon he instead gets captured in the dark realm and then Zelda has to save him. That’s why there’s so much similarities to A Link To The Past. That’s my take on some of this crap.
It could be mount lanayru too instead of hebra but I assume it probably is hebra. Having it be mount lanayru though would make it match botws location as well in regard to lake hylia. Actually that would also make gerudo desert match up as well…
I would if like in Tears and Breath you can go to the final boss instantly after the tutorial of getting Tri. Also mate every time you say Tri has 3 triangles it is clearly seen she has 4 from the point she enters Castletown after escaping the castle @7:51 @9:06 and at @9:38 Tri has a 4th triangle and you can see the shadow on the ground that there are 4 little dots following the big dot that is Tri under the triangles. The only thing you were right about when talking about the triangles is the boss teaser as then one can speculate that as killing the bosses can grant you more triangles, or that could be related to closing the rifts and the first one you close could be the one that swallows the castle I get that you wanna post news and stuff fast but take your time otherwise you will misspeak like this
I was wondering why we see it night when Zelda exits the cave and she falls and the riff stops. Then it is day. Did it maybe quickly turn to day right then? No edit/cut? Maybe that stops the expansion...it's a vampire riff? Maybe when it comes night again, things get bad and more riffs appear? Hmm.
7:00 Commonweath, where did you get the pot screen shot here? When she learns table, I froze it right before Y is replaced with table and it is a potted plant.
Oh, I see it is when she learns bed. So that begs to question: At this point in the game, why hasn't she learned table earlier, like in the cell? Was there no bed there? Or is this part of the cell? In this play through, did she learn table first, having learned plant prior, or jar first and then bed? hmmm...

I think this is a game shortly after link's awakening about 100 years before a link between worlds thus this link and Zelda are the very same from a link to the past, the oracle games, and link's awakening

Yeah it could just be that they both have the same type of hood, for whatever reason. But to be fair it would be cool if she took Link's hood and wore it as like a promise to herself that she'll save him.
It's about time we got a zelda game with Zelda as the main antagonist, glad they gave her her own game rather than changing one of the already established games to satisfy people with a female antagonist
6:13 Anyone have theories what we will have to copy and echo to get out of the prison? Maybe just a table that somehow knocks over keys on the wall, or somehow can break open the door? Or something else?
I guess it will probably be as easy as in other "Oh no, I'm stuck in prison with nothing on me!" games....just move something and find a hole they never patched. Probably just one high up that we have to echo 2 tables.
Hmm...as this video pointed out and I hadn't notice before, she already had learned how to echo a jar before learning chair and bed, thus maybe didn't learn those when locked in prison? So was the jar a "key" to getting out of the prison maybe?
Actually now I see it is a potted plant that she has on Y before learning table. That begs to question: did she learn potted plant in the cell? I doubt there is one there. Jar is more likely in a cell as a squat pot. Did the plant or jar help her escape?
With most of these so called things you know, I believe there are alot of them that we are not sure of and or don't believe until we play the game. You don't know and we don't know.
What do you expect from Echoes of Wisdom?
You don't have to sound out the count. It gets repetitive and monotonous. Let the graphic in the corner do that.
Ok 3 times you said Tri has 3 triangles and all 3 times there was very clearly 4 triangles... Are you editing from your phone??

Found errors in #61, 67, 69, and 70.
I posted about it below.
Essentially your triangle count was off.
We see Tri with 4 triangles starting in #61.
When Zelda leaves castle town and then in Kakariko, you say that Tri only holds 3 triangles but she has 4 in both instances.
Awesome video ❤️
Same in front of the Great Deku Tree
I was jumping into the comments to say the same thing --+ it's best look at tri's shadow to work out his triangles.
I also came here to comment on that. Why make this statement when he even has the trailer video playing at half speed, easier to count 4?
For Details 68 and 69, Tri already has 4 triangles, you can even spot the 4 shadows following them on the way to the Deku Tree
Also really cool how they make the shadows dots to make easier to count.
Weren't darknuts in Links Awakening?
