D'Erlanger is raw awesomeness distilled into a band. Lots of Overdrive/Distortion and a healthy dose of Chorus to their guitar sound. It's Punk rock with effects 🤘
Dir en grey has probably the best archetypical Visual Kei guitar sound on the album withering to death, kinda hinges on a hybrid Kei sound and a post american thrash. Its really gnarly.
Yokan was stuck in my head for years and I couldn't find it! Then I just suddenly remembered who it might've been that made the song I was hearing. There's recordings on my phone where I've hummed it out (badly) and I think I'd done that like 2-3 seperate times! I was that determined to find the song. That song was just burned into my subconscious.
incredible song choices and exactly the sort of tones I've been looking for, keep up the great videos man! also massive ups for using Crow-Sis, super underrated
Pretty cool overview. Would you mind making a video about "example settings" on a pedalboard / ampsim oder an effects board to create these specific sounds? 🙂
Thank you for watching! I'm planning to do a more in-depth video on my pedalboard soon, and will demonstrate how to dial in some of these types of sounds.
Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice! :D This video is gold. I need to stop being lazy and get my SD-1 out. I dunno why but I hadn't thought about the warmth it adds. Will you do any Laputa songs!? :O There's Eve and Glass Portrait /硝子の肖像 1:18: Baiser 2:07: Madeth Gray'll - Missantroop! Oh nooooo!!!!! X_X
Thank you for the kind words! Very much appreciated. No such thing as too many comments in our book. You got all the listed songs correct! Can you guess the band/song for the Chorus pedal demonstration? 😁 We may do some Laputa cover/tutorials in the future. But definitely bust out that SD-1 in the meantime and keep rocking 🎸🔥 The magic of Visual Kei brings people together 🙌🏼
Nice to see someone finally quantifying the sound I've been looking for.
Thanks for checking the video out, you came to the right place!
@@2PlayerSounds I've specifically been trying to replicate the 80's D'Erlanger sound recently.

Super helpful, thank you! Just getting into learning guitar and haven't figured out how to effectively use my pedal board yet for this sort of music
No problem! I'm happy this was helpful! Stay tuned for more VKEI guitar effects videos coming soon.

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the tasty choice of VKEI jams and tones. We love to show love to underrated songs and bands in the scene.
This video is great! Have been looking for info on this type of stuff for years now, thank you!!!
No problem! I'm glad this could help!

Much appreciated! 🙇🏻🙏🏼
Thanks for checking it out!
@@2PlayerSounds for sure, keep the vkei and jrock vids coming
Majority of Japanese visual kei was an ESP guitar, bose on my observation, actually mostly using ESP guitars from japan
ESP, Ibanez, Fernandes. All great Japanese brands.
@@2PlayerSounds you uploaded this very useful video wonderful, but what about the EQ settings of amp and pedals can you make a video of it?
Thank you! I will make a new video covering the amp and pedal settings I use to achieve these sounds.
can you do a tutorial for additional cause for sorrow by deadman???
Love that song! Would definitely like to learn how to play it. I'll put it on my to-do list.
Damn no malice mizer 😞
At 6:30 there's Malice Mizer- 追憶の破片 [Tsuioku no Kakera] / Fragments of Remembrance. :D
@@flip-phone_becky4655oh wow didn’t notice that thanks
