Interesting. I don’t think many historians consider the Qing and Moroccan Empires a part of the Gunpowder Empires. I think the consensus is that the Gunpowder Empires refer specifically to the Ottomans, Mughals, and Safavids

It was not until 1923 that Konstantiniyye was made officially Istanbul.

true, but it was renamed in 1930 not in 1923, 1923 is when the republic of Turkey was founded and as a part of a Turkification movement where the republic and previous governments renamed cities to more Turkish names, Constantinople was officially renamed in 1930. It is important to note that Istanbul was a popular slang term for Constantinople, from the Greek eis tin Polin, meaning "to the city".

The Ottomans did not rename Constantinople to Istanbul.

So the name of the city comes from it's colloquial name "eis tin polin"(εἰς τὴν πόλιν) which is a Greek phrase that literally means to the city or into the city cause Constantinople was 'the City'
Anyways, the official name of city during Ottoman rule was Konstantinye which essentially the Turkish version of 'Constantinople'
