I found your videos a few weeks ago, I have started doing art meditation and I love it. I just received my kwick sticks and watercolor paper today. I will be doing this one toinght! Thank you for the inspiring me to try this!!!
Been having so much fun watching your videos. Question: since the Kwik Sticks are water-soluble so not permanent …. Do you ‘fix’ them in some way? If so, what product do you use? Thanks!
Really enjoyed this in my art journal I didn’t have paint sticks so I used oil pastels and sharpies, not ideal so wanna get some paint sticks and acrylic markers which will come in handy for lots. Lovely exercise thank you😊
This pattern didn't really motivate me, but I tried it out. I painted the first, largest circle with strong colors, that was too much for me. So I painted the other circles with pastel colors. I only drew the lines on the pastel circles. The contrast that resulted from this gives the picture a special character. Aaaaaaaand - I really like it a lot - haha. I had only previously known the technique of drawing from the outside in (with mandalas). It was exciting to see that I find it more difficult to draw from the inside out. That fits with the fact that I'm more of an introvert. Note to myself: practicing drawing from the insiede out.
Hi, first-time viewer.. the algorithm is really responding well to my recent searches on mental health and art. Your channel and videos are fantastic; a perfect blend of instruction, explanations of why and how the piece is therapeutic, and calm. Hopefully, I will actually DO instead of just watching, admiring, and psyching myself out. I wonder if you've considered teaching on Insight Timer. You would be great there- can do live classes and guided pre-recorded meditation tracks.
Love this! New fan & subscriber. But not an artist so I only have art supplies I use with the grandchildren. I have the kwik stix (we all love them) and a variety of Sharpies. Could I use the Sharpies for the hatch marks?
I think I'd work with 3 or 4 muted (maybe pastel) shades because for me personally, so many strong colours at once is a little 'in your face'. (note to self: research why) Loved the video though. 💙😊
@@grannym2880 I know what you mean - and I like to pay attention to how the colors make me feel, that’s a big part of this process, too! Personally, I’ve noticed I use more (and bolder) colors when I’m feeling particularly stressed. I wonder if using all the colors like this helps me transmute the overwhelm. When I can see the “chaos” on the page, I feel better. But for some, that chaos on the paper might make it worse…so softer/fewer colors would be a better choice. As always, do what feels best to you!
These are just what I needed! Now I know why I'm always drawn to circles...thank you for explaining. Could you share the brand/name of the acrylic markers you used please?
@@moodbodystudiothank you. Even if not displaying a piece, I just wondered about them melting/smearing if I just stored them in stacks. Hmmmm …. So many questions /-)
In art school, I had a professor who would constantly get annoyed when we mispronounced tempera - “it’s not fried, you don’t eat the paint!” Even after that, I don’t know if I’ve ever pronounced it correctly🤷♀️🍤😅
Simply brilliant on all counts! Thank you for sharing. ❤❤❤
Not only is this beautiful and meditative, that finished page would make incredible paper beads. 🤩
It sure would.
Yes I agree with you it will really make beautiful paper beads ❤ Also the art piece will look great as Wall art👍👍
Thank you for sharing this! ❤❤❤ I will be trying it!
Gorgeous!
Thank you for this -- a wonderful thing to watch on a very rainy morning here in San Rrancisco 😊

Christmas tags…. with a star shape ⭐️
I think I'll try this but with highlighters first then either colored pencils or pens for the marks after

@@lauramolen9453 Sharpies usually write over dry Kwik Stix marks just fine, so I say yes absolutely!

Do you ‘fix’ the finished piece since Kwik Sticks are water soluble and not permanent?
I don’t (so far, none of my Kwik Stix pieces are intended for display), but I think a pastel fixative would be fine to use!

Im off to try this. BRB…………………….
I'm pretty sure it's pronounced "tempra" not "tem- PEAR-a." And it's definitely not "tempura." LOL. As you can tell, I struggle with perfectionism. 😊
