This is a meditation & art therapy channel - we're not focused on making museum-worthy "artwork" here! The main purpose of this particular technique is relaxation. It's also a wonderful exercise for folks with motor skill impairment (e.g. Parkinson's, MS, arthritis, etc). I'll pin your comment to hopefully bring awareness to the goal of this exercise to others. I'm here to facilitate relief & connection through creative expression, not to impress strangers on the internet with my mad art skillz!
Scribbling is such a stress release for me. And using those paint sticks, with the smooth texture is comforting and fun. You don’t have to be great at tennis, to have fun messing with the racket and ball! 😊
I think it's pretty. Scribble art is very relaxing and fun to do. It's also nice when you really look at it and find different shapes of maybe a dinosaur, a house an ice cream etc.
WoW, please ignore the negative comments on here. I want to thank you for this, I lead a craft session with adults with lift changing injuries and this technique helps them with their motor skills. I have loved doing practice runs.
@@sarahjoyholden7856 I don’t mind the negativity - I think it’s fascinating to see what people choose to focus on. We’re all so different! Thank you for your kind words, and I love the purpose behind your craft sessions!❤️
I’m immediately thinking of elderly who love the freedom of just watching colors play with each other. The idea of highlighting the tape edges is genius. I will use this immediately in my art therapy with the aging.
When I was young and learning how to stencil, our teacher would have us scribble on a paper, then go back and see if we could find a shape in the scribbles that we might want to make art from. We would more heavily trace over those designs, and we came up with some interesting creatures from that. It was fun, relaxing, and mentally stimulating to see beyond the norm. Art is also so much about what it does for your soul. Have fun! 😊
I was just coming here to make that same comment. I could make this a journal cover and use the same concept when dying paper with Easter egg dye colors, then use all the items for a journal including the tape as Washi. You could store the tape around a small plastic cylindrical container. 🤔I see a new video in the future. Thanks Create & Meditate for a great art idea.
Same! I also save my watercolor tapes, cuz I reuse them as long as I can so they can be very colorful! Even if the tape doesn't stick too much just use glue!!
Thinking of bringing this to my artsy clients afraid of making mistakes, what a great way to create something beautiful without a care if you’re doing it “right”.
This is a year of doing different types of art. I have been keeping track of my progress, as well. So far, over 225 items since March. Even if what I tried was a "fail". If I attempted it, it counted. Love this technique. I have been having a good time. After I remove the tape, I draw doodles and tangles in the negative space. Simply cool. Best day now.
Wow, just wow. The beauty of chaos. Just want to extend that I felt the relaxation of this tutorial or demonstration as I have, never mind about me. Just thank you.
Thanks for the beautiful reminder that not all art has to art with a purpose. It's 100% okay to create without the need for it to have to be a masterpiece. Just existing with the medium of your choice is okay.😌
It’s beautiful and something I could do at my age 71. Never did any art only crocheting and cross stitch. Thank you so much for sharing. All the best for your future projects on your channel. God bless you. From UK.
This is the first time I have seen this technique. It's very effective and looks like a stained glass window, so beautiful! I love it 💖 Just goes to show how a simple thing can be so therapeutic in helping us to relax and get our worries out. Thank you so much for sharing your video 🙏 I'm going to watch some of your other ones now. Stay well 🤗 best wishes from France 🇨🇵
love this so much! and your voice is very calming. i’m going to do it right now. i hope you post more! i love paint sticks and am always looking for “grown up” ways to use them.
I did this years ago with 1 of my children when she was really small with a canvas. Taped up, gave her paints and a brush, she used that and her fingers. Have a beautiful unique work of art done when she was about 2 😊
I'm an artist and i really enjoyed your technic. The result is mesmerizing. I think of church windows looking out on a dark wet street in the city. Love it!
This was SO satisfying! The array of colors, tracing the borders with gold..looked like an amazing piece of stained glass art.I was reminded of opals, which I love so much,as well.I'd like to try it.
What a lovely meditation and result at the end of a hot tiring day! Makes me want to go straight to my art desk and try it. But alas the A/C guy is coming. Need that cool air.
Quick tip from a fellow artist - If you want to get really crisp and clean lines when u peal off tape, put some gesso on the edges of the tape and let it dry completely then create your painting and when you lift up the tape the edges will be clean and crisp. Since you outlined everything with a paint pen you don’t really need to worry about it but if you do paintings where u want clean and crisp lines that’s how I would do it.
Love this technique! I immediately thought of doing this on a smaller scale with bookmarks. Reminds me of pointillism paintings or stained glass. Beautiful!
Oh my... thank you for this meditative exercise. I love using paint sticks, too. Lol... they are not just for little kids...us big kids love them too! New subbie here❤
WOW!! I just happened to see your artwork as I was scrolling through, and I'm so glad I came back to watch. This is probably the best project I've ever seen. What I especially love about it is that I don't feel the fear of failure. I have a real problem being afraid I'll make something ugly, so I just don't make anything. I'm going to try this, and I'm pretty sure it'll be great. Thanks so much.
Isn’t it amazing how important art is!?! It doesn’t matter the medium, process or time!!! There are just so many options! Some people tell me I’m not artistic, I can’t do that, I would just go blank… I tell them oh yes you can, you just do it AND/OR if you don’t try you won’t know you can’t!!! Momma always said “can’t never did anything” ohhhh how we miss her🕊️🥰 ❤️😀
This was so relaxing to watch; thank you. I have had a busy week, and now I'm in overload. Watching this let my mind relax enough to start de-stressing.

Thank you for this beautiful inspiration, I just did 2 or three scribbles, those three works are still in their creative stages. So to be recommended this video is a dream come through. Thank you for sharing this, please let me borrow a leaf because I got a huge tape from the art shop to use for painting, but I guess it's a tape for masking maybe as masking fluid, so I decided to paint on it and use it to decorate , as in stamps,😂. Now seeing this I guess I' m on the right track🙏.
Nice! I always looking for some good art therapy videos. There is so much pressure to make something nice, *perfect* ... Scribbling is such good stress release!
I like it!. I've seen some other uses of the tempra paint, but didn't see any that I thought I would like to try, until I saw this video. Since they dry so quickly they are perfect for this scribble technique. Thank you for showing us.
I've thrown away "artwork" better than this done at nursery by my children when they were aged two - four!

Very striking. I think I would save the tape and use it as Washi tape in my journals.
