You might think im crazy but ive been to Porto 13 times since 2015. Its only a 2 hour flight from the uk where i live. Its amazing and so beautiful and ive made friends and met some lovely people over the years. I know i will have a great time every time i go. My accommodation company has a shuttle service i get free transport from the airport and they take me back to the airport. I use the same company all the time they know me it saves me a lot of hassle. I also get a little discount on my stay.
That's great!
I’m going to Lisbon and trying to decide should I include Porto in my trip. I’m trying to figure out what makes it unique as compared to Lisbon?
If you can, YES, include Porto. Completely different "feel" between the two cities, if I can just pick one word. Honestly, between the two, I prefer Porto. And there's much to do in day trips from Porto. Porto is an easy bus or train ride from Lisbon (stop in Coimbra on the way - I have a video on it as well), if you want. I'd be interested to know if you choose to go to Porto and which city, Porto or Lisbon, you liked most and why. 😀@@TheresaofTheWorld
The Metro Is also good from the Airport 1/2 hour to Trindade dirt cheap.
The most indepth and interesting travel info on Porto I have so far come across. as an over 50 single traveller looking forward to the delights of Porto this video was very informative.
THANK YOU 🏴
Awesome, thank you! I'm pleased you enjoyed it. Porto will not disappoint.
p.s. love the VW bus. 😃
I’m a 50+ solo traveler, too. I’ll be in Porto in mid-October. How was your trip in May? I plan to stay in Rebeira; still in the planning stage.
I love Porto and want to go back after seeing your video. The street musician at 17:37! We saw him everyday outside our accommodation at Rua da Flores.
So glad you enjoyed it and brought back good memories. I hope you make it back to Porto soon.
Thank you for the tips. I'll be in Porto in early October. I'll be staying at the Sandeman hostel in Vila Nova de Gaia. Can't wait.
You're most welcome. I hope it makes your planning easier.
You'll love Porto in early October. I've been at that time and the weather was great. Your location is prime for nice sunset times by the water so you can see the rest of Porto a glow. It's lovely. Find a place outside for some port sipping and enjoy.
Oh, and if you will, let us know how your trip went and your stay at that hostel. I always love to hear of good hostel recommendations for others to consider. 😁
@@CORRTravel thanks. I'll definitely do that.
This was quite informative and my client is excited about Porto. Im glad I was able to convince him to go to Lisbon and Porto for their first trip to Portugal.
I'm so glad you found it helpful. Please forward the Lisbon video to your client - it's also very informative. 😀 th-cam.com/video/a-xWayosp80/w-d-xo.html

Thank you!
Only regret on our recent Portugal trip was spending only 3 days in Porto. Could easily have spent a week or more.
Yes, Porto is lovely and easy to spend more time there. I hope, though, you got to see and do what you wanted in Porto in those 3 days. If you have feedback on what you did in 3 days, please share it with the viewers. Thanks!
@@CORRTravel We did a pastel de nata cooking class, which was a nice low key fun event. Of course we did the obligatory Port wine tour and other touristy things. I would recommend skipping Livraria Lello unless you like being crammed like sardinhas just for a picture. As a book nerd, it didn't work well for me. There are amazing alfarrabistas (essentially antique book stores) in Porto. I went with a list of 9 to visit. It was very helpful to be able to speak about intermediate level Portuguese when going to these far less touristy places.
@@victorbehar804 The cooking class is a great idea. Thank you for sharing that recommendation to the viewers. Yes, a Porto visit would not be complete without port tasting and tours of some kind.
Thank you for the information on Livraria Lello. I have not been so it is appreciated for the other viewers and would-be Porto visitor.
Great video. Thank you so much for all you do. Going to Portugal in September out of my comfort zone I usually go to Italy 😂. Doing 3 days Lisbon 3 days Porto 5 Algarve and 2 back in Lisbon. How does it sound? Would you change it ? @CORRTravel
Oh, I LOVE Italy. It's hard to beat, right. 😂
Thank you for asking my opinion on my travel. The amount of time in each area sounds great. You can fit a lot in in each destination, plus you don't need a card to get between destinations (don't discount the bus as sometimes it may be quicker and cheaper than the train). I'm guessing you're flying roundtrip in/out of Lisbon, right? If you can (by airline miles?) I'd fly into Porto (warmer at that time) and make my way south ending in the Algarve to keep hitting prime weather (and being cooler in the Algarve). Then fly out of Faro. But if you can't do that, don't worry. Your plan is still good. And you shouldn't have to contend with any holidays in September.
Don't forget to watch my other videos on Lisbon and Coimbra to help with planning.
Touch back after your trip and let us know what you did and how it went!! 😃 🇵🇹
@@CORRTravelBuongiorno 😂. Thank you and I will keep in touch and let you know. Yes Italy is hard to beat. Flying in and out of Lisbon and enjoying 5 nights at Conrad in Algarve at backhand of trip. I’m thinking about doing extra night in Porto. It might be more of my vibe and adding Douro Valley but everyone says do Lisbon longer. Yes I have been definitely been watching your videos… I’m power watching 😂you are amazing
@@maxmater1311 Well, thank you for power watching. I'm pleased you like the channel. More videos will be coming!
Well, if adding the Duoro Valley means adding a day to Porto, then YES. The Duoro Valley is a MUST. It's a UNESCO World Heritage site. Find the right small group tour where they pick you up, and take you for sites, lunch, river cruise and, yes, port tasting. See my video descriptions for suggested tour links, and other. It's a fun and informative day.
Everyone has their Lisbon vs. Porto preference. It's subjective. Honestly, I think I like Porto better as there are so many more places to go to close by (approx. an hour or less) surrounding Porto easily accessible by train or bus. Like Guimarães or Braga. I love Braga. I'd spend 2 days in Porto, and then 2 days outside of Porto. Just MHO.
Yes, please let us know about your trip, what you did and what you like best or least. Have fun!
@@CORRTravel thank you so much. Have a wonderful day
Port Wine must be served at dessert! Prosit!
Cheers!
@@CORRTravel I want to be your “tripeiro” Portuguese special friend. Have you email address or WhatsApp?Thanks in advance.
please tell me if accept credit cards or only euros, thanks
If you are asking if establishments and services in Porto accept credit cards, yes. Many do. You can do your hotel bookings on credit card, dine, do excursions, buy bus/train tickets, etc. on your credit card. I hope that helps!
YES THANKS HELPS@@CORRTravel
I'm so pleased. Yah, I use my credit card alot when traveling and did so as well in Porto. Just try to always have some cash on you for emergencies, and tipping in cash is preferred.@@samirachagua5929
