Mem India is not in Copenhagen
Sorry, what is "Mem India"? There is reference to this in the video.
What a great, thorough, and informative video!! I loved it!! We are going in, August. it will be the 1st time there with the new port and all the shops, which will be great, but I would also like to shop at the local shops, as opposed to the tourist places. Is the downtown area where we can find the local shops too? Thank you so much for making this vid!!
Glad it was helpful! The downtown area has most of the shops (local and 'touristy') available to you in a close proximity (avoid areas in the Safety Tips section). Getting a block or so away from the strip is better. Heritage Village has more 'local' shops, though and is accessible on foot. While you're exploring on foot, check out the historical sites, The Graycliff, John Watlings, National Art Gallery, and Hillside House. Have fun!
Thank you! Former Flight Attendant until 9/11. Now retired and wanting to travel again. I will be checking your business out! Thank you for being so “real”.

Thank you for sharing.
Great video thank you!
Glad you liked it! 😃 While you're here, feel free to check out the other Lisbon videos.
Great video ~ thank you! We will be in Barcelona in September and considering a long weekend in San Sebastián but it overlaps with the film festival. Would you recommend avoiding it then? Not sure if it will be too crowded
Glad it was helpful! Please check out my 'Know Before You Go Barcelona' video, and other Barcelona videos, too for planning your trip. 😄 Thanks for asking on the San Sebastian film festival. It will draw a LOT of people and accommodations are going to be BOOKED. If it were me, and it were my first visit for only a weekend, I'd try to avoid the film festival. If you're only there for one day of the festival but then a couple of days after it, that could work so you would then a couple of quieter days with less crowds. If you are going to go, I would book something ASAP for San Sebastian around the film festival. Let us know if you went and how you liked San Sebastian!
This was a great and very informative video. I look forward to my first trip to Porto in early September. I plan to stay a week. Would I need a coat during that time? Thanks!
Glad it was helpful! I hope you have a wonderful time. Please share your Porto travel insights here with us. 😃 It should still be quite warm in September. I would start checking the weather a few days before you leave so you know what to pack. Even if it is warm, I would bring a light jacket for the evening and/or dress in layers. Have fun!

I love how much detail is in this video. Thank you!
You are so welcome! Please feel free to check out the other videos I have on Nassau. You'll love them, I promise. 😁
Good useful info unlike the many self posing videos. Seems a little too busy for me. My idea in finding a some what sustanable eco friendly place would be seeking out whole food plant base dishes instead of unsustanable farmed meat and dairy products. I just wished more people would realise what an effect on our only planet your taste buds have, let alone your long term health.
Thank you for sharing your insights. I'm glad you found the video helpful. There are quieter parts of the island and, as an island, they have much locally sourced organic food. Wine has been cultivated there for centuries. The food and wine there is great. If you go, I encourage you to sample as much as you can. :-)
Great video , just talking a little too fast for me , I have to pause and rewind everytime just for clarity
Noted! If it helps, I do place subtitles on all of my videos. I'm pleased you found it helpful!

I ❤️ Portugal!
They are being rude to tourists now. Cancel Barcelona.
Oh, goodness. I have heard this before, unfortunately. Would you care to share any specific examples of rudeness with the rest of us?

Great! I hope you found some value for planning your trip to Split.
Fun facts for tourists (which will not be mentioned by tourist guides unfortunately, but on purpose :/ ): - Croatia is the place of biggest and most monstrous genocide in entire history of Southeastern Europe.
Well.... if you're implying that historical insight was left out intentionally, that would be far off base, I'm afraid, but thank you for sharing.

Wish there were better ways to find like minded people to plan some trips with. I go solo when there is no choice, but prefer one or two people with me. Just hard to find. I enjoy my solo trips, but I have nobody to eat with and I like to be waited on. It's uncomfortable to sit at a table alone. Never met anyone on trips. I am introverted mostly and nobody ever said much at all. If on a tour same thing.. they talk briefly but nobody to make friends with for later
Thank you for sharing your insights and feelings on traveling alone. Yes, there are those challenges in meeting people while traveling. I find small group tours within my destination work well for me in meeting others and breaking up my solo time, should I wish to. In planning trips with others, however, there is a great way to find like-minded people for a travel situation. It's called voluntourism. And it's fantastic. Pick a cause you love, or something you want to learn how to do, and research the best volunteer groups and sites that offer what you're looking for and you will certainly find those that are like-minded. You may need to dedicate more time for this type of travel, but the results can be very rewarding travel. You never know where it may take you in life geographically, spiritually, or professionally. 😀 I've done it before (coral reef conservation dive work in Belize) and loved it. Can't wait to voluntour more. Try it.

We’re in Porto now and as beautiful as it may be, It’s dirty, over crowded, full of beggars, people trying to sell you drugs,it has a massive homeless problem and parts of Vila Nova de Gaia are pretty unwelcoming.Big migrant problem and in the evenings away from the river you’d think you were in Delhi…to be honest if you want to eat anywhere other than by the side of a main road stick to the river, where you’ll be able to eat in relative peace other than people trying to sell you shite every five minutes….i definately won’t be returning….
So sorry you didn't enjoy your stay in Porto.
Thank you for the helpful tips! How safe is the metro? Some of my friends, including Barcelona residents, told me they got robbed on the metro.
You know, I never had a problem on the metro. However, the metro in many locations around the world can sometimes be sketchy during peak travel times when crowded. Choosing a good time to ride to avoid these situations is a small helpful tip that may also apply to Barcelona?
@@CORRTravel thank you. I was getting nervous when locals told me they lost their phone or wallet on the metro.
@@CinemaMediaStudies Always just practice general safety precautions - it's the best you can do. But honestly, I have not had a problem on the metro. Note: I SWEAR by my mono-sling bag. It's the only day bag I bring and when in crowded/touristy areas (La Rambla) or like the metro, I wear it so it's in front of me (not behind me). I don't care what I look like. It's all about keeping your items safe. If you want, you can see it on my '3 Days in Barcelona': th-cam.com/video/vRNVtYoG9Js/w-d-xo.html In that video description, I provide a link to a good, eco-friendly mono-sling by Osprey (but any good mono-sling will do): Osprey Mono Sling Bag: amzn.to/45N6A3l
I came back from solo Lisbon adventure at the end of January. Not as crowded, and less expensive, I had a very similar travel itinerary as yours. I stayed in Chiado, which was super convenient for getting around. I hit Sintra and Cascais on day trips and with a couple extra days, really explored all of Lisbon, mostly by foot, but their metro is really easy to use. I also ventured out to Evora for a day trip and recommend if you have time. Between the Pastel de Nata's and bifana's, I was very happy. One of the underrated free things to take in Lisbon, the amount of great street music, especially outside of the Statue of Antonio Ribeiro. I look forward to going back to Portugal to explore Porto, but first, Tuscany.
Thank you for your feedback on your trip to Lisbon for the other readers as well as the recommendation on Evora as a day trip (I do mention it in my Day Trips section of my '15 Things To Know Before You Go Lisbon' video). Yes, the Chiado district is also a great place to stay and the street musicians are great in every town. I'm glad you had a wonderful time. Thanks, again, for your input!

Hi, I'm Andrew. I'm a new subscriber. I'm also in my early 40s. These tips were incredibly helpful. I'll do my best to remember them.
Hello Andrew. Thanks for subscribing! I'm glad you found these tips useful. Please check out the others in the 'Solo Travel Tips' series and feel free to post questions.
@@CORRTravelI will. What’s your advice for those of us who take prescription meds? I’m on the generics for tegretol and geodon for bipolar and the generic for zocor for high cholesterol. I’m painfully aware that my meds are not legal everywhere in the world 😢.
@@abkeener81 That's a good question. I always say go to the US State Department website to read as much as possible on travel advise for a location. Also look at sites for tips like TSA: www.tsa.gov/travel/travel-tips/can-you-pack-your-meds-pill-case-and-more-questions-answered The CDC: wwwnc.cdc.gov/travel/page/travel-abroad-with-medicine# And other sites for international travel like: www.internationalinsurance.com/news/bringing-medication-overseas/ When you do know what you can take, or not, depending on your location, I would think to have it clearly labeled (in the original Rx bottle if possible), a copy of the doctor's written prescription, and always bring enough with you on your carry on (in case your check on luggage gets lost) and more than enough to cover your trip with extras in case of emergency or delays. I hope this helps in getting you started!
@@CORRTravel I have. Not much help. I've even tried contacting the countries I'd be visiting. That's hit or miss. The ones that don't help me claim it's because they are not medical professionals. When I explain to them I don't need medical advice ... I get crickets. What annoys me is that bipolar and ADD both (individually) are already stigmatized enough. I don't need this just to travel 🤬😤.

Thank you for the tips. I'll be in Porto in early October. I'll be staying at the Sandeman hostel in Vila Nova de Gaia. Can't wait.
You're most welcome. I hope it makes your planning easier. You'll love Porto in early October. I've been at that time and the weather was great. Your location is prime for nice sunset times by the water so you can see the rest of Porto a glow. It's lovely. Find a place outside for some port sipping and enjoy. Oh, and if you will, let us know how your trip went and your stay at that hostel. I always love to hear of good hostel recommendations for others to consider. 😁
@@CORRTravel thanks. I'll definitely do that.
Great video. Thank you so much for all you do. Going to Portugal in September out of my comfort zone I usually go to Italy 😂. Doing 3 days Lisbon 3 days Porto 5 Algarve and 2 back in Lisbon. How does it sound? Would you change it ? @CORRTravel
Oh, I LOVE Italy. It's hard to beat, right. 😂 Thank you for asking my opinion on my travel. The amount of time in each area sounds great. You can fit a lot in in each destination, plus you don't need a card to get between destinations (don't discount the bus as sometimes it may be quicker and cheaper than the train). I'm guessing you're flying roundtrip in/out of Lisbon, right? If you can (by airline miles?) I'd fly into Porto (warmer at that time) and make my way south ending in the Algarve to keep hitting prime weather (and being cooler in the Algarve). Then fly out of Faro. But if you can't do that, don't worry. Your plan is still good. And you shouldn't have to contend with any holidays in September. Don't forget to watch my other videos on Lisbon and Coimbra to help with planning. Touch back after your trip and let us know what you did and how it went!! 😃 🇵🇹
@@CORRTravelBuongiorno 😂. Thank you and I will keep in touch and let you know. Yes Italy is hard to beat. Flying in and out of Lisbon and enjoying 5 nights at Conrad in Algarve at backhand of trip. I’m thinking about doing extra night in Porto. It might be more of my vibe and adding Douro Valley but everyone says do Lisbon longer. Yes I have been definitely been watching your videos… I’m power watching 😂you are amazing
@@maxmater1311 Well, thank you for power watching. I'm pleased you like the channel. More videos will be coming! Well, if adding the Duoro Valley means adding a day to Porto, then YES. The Duoro Valley is a MUST. It's a UNESCO World Heritage site. Find the right small group tour where they pick you up, and take you for sites, lunch, river cruise and, yes, port tasting. See my video descriptions for suggested tour links, and other. It's a fun and informative day. Everyone has their Lisbon vs. Porto preference. It's subjective. Honestly, I think I like Porto better as there are so many more places to go to close by (approx. an hour or less) surrounding Porto easily accessible by train or bus. Like Guimarães or Braga. I love Braga. I'd spend 2 days in Porto, and then 2 days outside of Porto. Just MHO. Yes, please let us know about your trip, what you did and what you like best or least. Have fun!
@@CORRTravel thank you so much. Have a wonderful day
I just came from Barcelona. My advice is don't waste your time or money going over there. No parking, people don't smile, people are rude, They really don't like Americans and it's really boring. Lots of scammers. They are needy. They want want want but won't offer a cup of water... Bus drivers were rude and had several bad experiences for instance I was with two older ladies friends of mine eating at the beach when the waitress threw the bill at me half way through my meal and I asked why she did that her response was sometimes people get up and leave, mind you were sitting next to her. I spoke to her boss and he was rude as hell. People please take my word for it. Notice that not one person in the video is smiling. The worst trip I taken in my life.
I'm so sorry to hear you did not enjoy your trip. I hope this does not put you off in traveling to other destinations in Spain.
@@CORRTravel Thanks. I had friends that recently came back and they too had a bad time. My daughter went to Paris and the same bad treatment was given. Spain is about looking at antique places and sour people that only want give me give give me and not even a cup of water in return. Even at the airport I was treated different, they were rude. I just want to save people time and money. Look at your whole video and see nobody smiles and it's all about the €uros needed to spend.
@@rollyrol2644 Again, I'm so sorry to hear you say that. To be honest, you are not the first to say the Spaniards can be considered a "little rough around the edges", but we must consider cultural differences, yes? I just take them as they are and have honestly never experienced any rudeness. So, I truly do hope you'll go back to Spain and consider other locations. Valencia rocks. Madrid is lovely. San Sebastian cannot be beat. It's a large country so there are other options. If you don't to go back, consider Portugal. I live here and love it. And I've only ever experienced, and heard of, the kindness of the Portuguese. I've got videos on Portugal, too, and more will be coming! Keep that in your back pocket for future travel. 🙂
Lisboa is amazing, loved it. But wow is it over-touristed. It kind of made me a bit sad to see that.
Yes, Lisboa is a great city. What month did you go - during peak season? Unfortunately, most cities are over-touristed during peak season. It's inevitable with a growing human population.
@@CORRTravel That's the thing, it was shoulder season near the end of last March. To be fair, I was there for Easter, and I think that there was a special bump of tourists because of the holiday. The Easter markets were fantastic!
@@victorbehar804 Ah. Yeah. Easter. Holidays are tough for tourism, too. Plus, the spring can be hard with school groups causing long lines. I've experienced that across Europe in both March and April. Trust me, I've been to Lisbon several times (I live in Portugal) and have not had to deal with tourists during shoulder season away from the holidays. So hopefully you'll go back! 🙂
I have solo vacationed a few times. I prefer someone with me, but do solo when needed ❤
Oh, yes, traveling with someone is fun, especially when they match your type of travel. So pleased to hear you do go out alone when you need to. Perfect.
Nassau has NOT been any kind of "centre of slavery". It was a pirates republic until 1720 when the pirates were expelled by Woodes Rogers. There were no plantations there and after the British abolished slavery in 1820 it is where they dropped off Africans liberated from the slave ships of other countries. The black inhabitants of the Bahamas are not descended from slaves.
Thank you for more insight into Nassau's history.
Looks great! Thnx✨🌍✨
