What about creating the best/craziest but still drivable car? Like finding the most extreme combination (idk 2x power, 0.5x weight, 2x brakes, 2x downforce, 0.5x drag) and trying to set a clean lap? It would be like the career development, but with steroids
the fastest u can go is about 487 kph or 304 mph in this game, and the highest downforce u can have before causing the top speed to decrease is about 2-2.3 on both front and rear. and drag would be 0 including the slipstream downforce being 1 and drag being 0 in slipstream too. acceleration has to do more with chasis weight and 200-250 is about as light as u can make it otherwise a tiny bump would stop all momentum or even cause the car to flip. so in conclusion drag:0 downforce coefficient:2.3 slip stream value:1 and 0 weight: 250 engine power: change y figures to around 2.5-3 times

IMO it looked quite significantly slower through the high speed corners, I’d be interested to see a lap time comparison between this version and the slicks only version at a track like Barcelona or Silverstone with a more even distribution of high speed, low speed and straights.
@@jacobheap082 No, its Lewis in the 2020 Merc and for race record its Bottas in the 2018 Merc Kimi has the race lap record in 2004 and the pole time (from Micheal, not Rubens) was 8 seconds slower than Kimi's and Bottas' and 11 seconds off Lewis'
3:24 I've raced in F2004 and the same happened to me, seems like some kind of porpoising, maybe the car is too low... The track was: Austria/Red Bull Ring, try it yourself if you want..
Maybe you should have added extra 35 kg on top of those 50 because 2010 cars already has weight upped from 605 to 620 specifically to accommodate old kers systems and then once again from 620 to 640 kg for 2011 cars to compensate even more for bulky kers. modern ers just got slapped on top of that. so entire ers is heavy AF it seems.
Why this game doesn't have the last of V10's - 2005 cars? Those were the cars that set a lot of lap time records and speed records. I mean 2005 McLaren was pulling 370+km/h at Monza. Without ERS/DRS. On grooved tyres. Which were really hard compound, because FIA at the time thought that banning tyre change during a pit-stop was a good idea.
Because they are not the fastest... look closer too lap records. they are from 2004 apart wit ha few exceptions like suzuka where in 2004 they didnt had the practice because of a taifun. and top speed in race Mclaren 2004: 365km/h, 2005: 358km/h (without slipstream)
Stupid question but does the F2004 have auto traction control or do you need to turn it on in the assists? I only ask cos I run no assists and want to use the classic cars for a bit of fun
2 main reasons why this wouldn't work in real life: - No turbo means less enerfy recovery (no MGU-H) - Fuel consumption is too high, no refueling is allowed. Car would stop at 33% of the race. Fuel consumption of today is amazing.
F2004 with the following modifications: - DRS - Modern ERS (but using a much lighter Williams Flywheel system instead of a battery) - Pirelli slicks - An 8th gear - A turbocharger - Some minor increases in underbody downforce (thanks to the 2022 regs bringing back a milder form of ground effect) - Reduced fuel consumption (to simulate Ferrari using the illegal fuel mixture of 20% diesel and 80% toluene, enabling them to carry a smaller fuel tank and thus making room for the Williams Flywheel system mentioned above)
Why hasn't anyone thought to do the obvious: Give an F1 2004 all the beneficial features (speed and drivability-wise) of todays F1 cars that make them fast and not the features that make them suck: 1) DRS for straights 2) Modern aero 3) Slicks Then we get to see just how much better they are. This means no ERS btw as it add weight and that's completely against the point of these cars and what makes them great.
Why can't we just have the F1 from the 2005/2006Season but with High Revin' V10 with slicks and ERX ;-; If F1 look for a 100% BioFuel, I would love to see 100% Bio V10
Putting an ERS system i to the car would destroy it. The extra wieght and place ment of the batteries would fundamentally change the cars size and shap. It would no longer be an F2004 and 8t would be a lot sliwer needing more fuel stops because of the increase in wieght. The only 2 things you could put on this car that todays cars have are a DRS system and taking the 2004 grooved tires and make them slicks. You couldn't use more modern sicks because they wouldn't last 5 laps on this car. The F2004 was designed to race on a fuel liad that would last 1/3 to 1/2 of a race distance and run pretty much flat out . To days cars are run on full tanks with all the wieght of the batteries and accompanying hardware at ruduced rate of speed to savd the tires. Tire managment us a huge part of todays racing. Back in 2004 not so much as the tires were much more durable. The 2010 Montreal GP destroyed the flat out pace racing we were seeing and turned the sport into a tire endurance sport. Any Hybrid system would mean there would have to be way to many changes to the car which it was never designed for. It woukd be a completely diferent beast in both size and shape. It would nkt be an F2004 any more.
So you changed the cars wieght and dimension to hold the ERS and batteries and then modified the wieght distribution. Ya didn't think so. The moment you change any thing to the shap and size of the car it's no longer an F2004. Even changing the tire will have an adverse effect. The F2004 would destroy todays tires within a couple of laps due to it's cornering speed. The car was designed to be driven hard the whole race, with todays tires you would have to back off and baby the tires through the stint. You coulc add the evil race destroying DRS but again it will add wieght in places the car was never designed for. This car at its best was designed to be raced on 3 to 4 stints on minimum fuel (exception France where it was a 4 stop 5 stnt race) , driven much harder than todays tire endurance race designed cars.
Please do slick tyres, turbo, ERS and drs on the f2004. That would be an amazing video
Please dont. Same as this one, just more powerful, so what?

do an entire f1 world championship series with this car. It’ll be interesting to see how it would fare in circuits like Monaco as well
Bollocks because F2004 doesn't have turbo charger so no mgu-h so much less power for ERS

Okay idea you add the 2020 car downforce give the car ers + drs give it turbos + slicks, and keep it at the stock weight an absolute monster
Would be op on Monaco you’d be able to overtake coming through the tunnel and on home straight so east with ERS on that car
Makes you appreciate the level of engineering in modern F1 to make the much larger and heavier cars as quick as they are.
3:24 propoising moment
Now try the opposite: What if the current cars must refuel, but be as light as the 04 cars?
they would be quite a few seconds faster per lap. with the insane modern downforce levels and the old weight they would be just ridiculous.
