    TCL and Hisense was the best thing that could’ve happened to the tv market. Forced competitive prices. Would love for them to enter the monitor space

      Yeah it was. I’ve been a big supporter of tcl and Hisense. Was able to get a 75 inch Sony x90k for $898 at Walmart this cyber Monday and I do really like it my tcl series 8 65 inch which I got for a $1000 at Best Buy 3 years ago does look better imo. It does have 60hz instead of 120hz which is really why I got the Sony… basically it impresses me as well in how tcl and Hisense have been able to kind of take over. Idk what there profits are looking like but if they can keep it going they are definitely gonna make Samsung, Sony, lg either leave or just only make high end tvs.

    Caleb, you absolutely hit the nail on the head there with respect to that TCL sound bar. Under no circumstances should any company EVER put a high-gloss finish on the top of a sound bar. Nor should they EVER put any type of decorative lighting on the top of one either. Frankly, as smart as TCL is, I'm amazed that they even showed a bar at CES with both of those mistakes on it. They really shouldn't have (because we already know they know better). As a side note, do you know who clearly doesn't know better? Bose, of all people. Their new Sound Bar Ultra that just recently came to market has a high-gloss, piano-black finish on the top of it that simply acks like a MIRROR when placed in front of a TV (where most people are likely to put it). Yes, that's right. Bose let a sound bar of theirs go all the way out to market/production with one of the biggest "cardinal sins" that any soundbar manufacturer can make. It just goes to show you that even big, multi-million-dollar companies with tons of really smart people working for them can STILL make horribly bad mistakes.

    • @lucee2261
      @lucee2261 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Never ceases to amaze me how they keep designing pedestal stands or support feet without any thought for the soundbar or the furniture it might sit on.
      TCL put them on the corners of a 98 inch TV - who has a cabinet that wide.
      Others don't allow enough height to stop the soundbar interfering with the picture.😢

    So far I have no regrets on buy my QM8. I went in to buy a OLED and when I saw the QM8, I could not tell a that much of a difference. To be honest I never even looked at TCL it was always the low end TV at Sam's and other stores. So I came home started reading everything I could find on the QM8 and decided to give it a try. Plus it didn't hurt that it was $1500.00 lower in price than the OLED's I was looking to buy. After I fine tuned a few settings I was good to go. TCL has won me over and for price and picture quality vs others.

    • @SpidermanandJeny
      @SpidermanandJeny 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@paulc5389 well, I guess 98" is relevant, but I was thinking about 110 and 115 inches that just got debuted in the US. I'm sure at some this year or next 120" (that's 10 feet!) will be debuted. Linus of LTT got a Chinese version of the TCL 115" and it's amazing. The brightness is insane, the quality overall is crazy and he's probably not going back to his high quality projector. I think projectors are only going to be a thing for 140" or more in a few years when the current TV's are kind of reasonable for their size. Also, maybe there'll be some non super premium super large TV's.

    The upgraded 75" q691 with full array local dimming and onkyo 2.1 speakers is on clearance in the US at costco right now for only $400, if you can find one. In store only, not delivered. Sadly, there aren't any reviews of this specific Coctco-only model, but it seems to be the same as the Q68 series, but with FireOS, upgraded Onkyo 2.1 speakers, a longer 3-year warrantee and they're claiming over 500 zones of full array local dimming.
    I gambled on it, and it looks and sounds awesome. I think that right now, that's about the best bank for the buck you're gonna find!

    Excellent video for the TCL TV Lineup!! Caleb always does a great job of explaining things so well and being entertaining at the same time. That QM89 looks amazing if you have the money and space for such a humongous TV! One thing I found a little confusing, and has nothing at all to do with DT’s excellent video, is the signage all around the displays saying TCL QD-MiniLED TV, even above the displays of the S and Q6 classes, which Caleb clearly stated as being Direct Lit, not MiniLED! I am sure the signs were just an all around advertisement for their top-tiered models, but I think it’s confusing.

I've been watching videos from a bunch of tech channels covering CES and the TVs I'm personally most interested in are Samsung's 4K Neo QLED TVs, more specifically the QN90D as I think I might upgrade to one this year. On all the channels that tour the Samsung booth, none of them cover the 4K QLEDS. They seems to cover the new anti glare coating on the S95D OLED and then go straight to the 8K Neo QLEDS. I'm wondering if this is due to Samsung wanting to push 8K more so they're 'gently' nudging people past the 4K models and onto the 8K models? Realistically, hardly anyone is buying or investing in 8K TVs at the moment so I'm a bit disappointed in the lack of coverage and info on the 4K mini LEDs.

    Having owned a Hisense U7K for 2 weeks before exchanging it for a TCL Q750G, can definitely say that TCL understands picture quality better, IMO. In your Hisense video, the TV that was over your left shoulder, at that extreme angle, had MASSIVE blooming, and echoes what I witnessed with the Hisense U7K. My TCL Q7 shows a bit, sure, but not nearly as bad as the U7K, and has a blue-tinge versus a white tinge, so it minimizes the effect. Should I want to upgrade, I'm for sure looking at the QM7 or better again, as my 4 months with it have been problem free, where the Hisense had those blooming errors, Wifi disconnects a lot, so I recommend TCL more.

      The large size q80 series use a VA panel. I know cause I have one mine is 85 in tho. An amazing tv for the price excellent contrast hardly any blooming can’t even hardly find any if I look. Tv works very well in a bright room light never effects it’s quality. Like it better than my neighbors giant LG oled. QD Oled is the only way I would go to oled. Don’t overlook the Q80 series it will hang with mini LEDs no problem. The 80 series uses great processing like the higher end models

    i doubt they'll be available in germany. imma go for a C3 soon anyway, according to all sources that's a solid and sensible pick.

    Its all about the QM8 for me. Lets hope they can bring the same version to the UK and not a watered down version like they did this year.

    While your at TCL ask them why the QM8 wasn’t available in U.K.

    Did you speak correctly when you mentioned the QM7 doing 240hz @ 1440p and not 1080p? Extremely impressive is 1440p 240Hz works correctly on PC.

    Every tv manufacturer needs to come out with 100 or 100+ size tv. Be it in full array, mini led, 2 oled joined together. Yes with supported resolutions and fps at 8k 60, 4k 120, 1440 240

    I just bought LG c3 and it's got a terrific pic but the settings on this TV are very buggy so buyer beware. Also, I spent hours trying to figure out their entire earc system in order to get Dolby Atmos and let me tell you, it ain't happening unless you use their suggestions and or recommendations! It's totally convelufed! When I got done setting up, my setup panel read HDMI Arc not supported so at this point I haven't decided on returning it!

    On the new QM7 and QM8 have they improved the off angle viewing as that was an issue on the 2023 QM8

    • @tomtube1012
      @tomtube1012 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah that's a big problem and I doubt they improved it cause they tend to use VA panels. They should start using IPS/ADS panels like Samsung for their mini-leds.

    Incorrect. For the TCL S5 (2024) their website shows that it's a 60 Hz panel in the 85-in class, not 120hz.

    Is TCL making an S551G for their 98" for 2024 or are they just sticking with the S550G that released in 2023? Everything I've read on the 551's is that it's only going up to 85"

First try WILD WORLD DOLBY VISION | EXTREME COLORS [8K HDR]. It looks amazing still on my 2017 LG OLED 55 B7 and 2019 LG OLED 55 E9. I hope I can eventually upgrade to a 55 G4. Just wanna say, love what you are doing. The whole world is watching you. Thanks for what you bring to us.
