  • This is a true GRAIL! I really dig black pens and it seems everyone on the internet has unboxed and reviewed the Vermillion version of this pen so I went with black and I love it! Super classy and extremely understated. From a quick glance, it seems rather unassuming but as soon as you hold this pen in your hands, you know this is something truly special!
Greg Schiek is the sole owner at Antique Digger. Over the last 7 years, he has restored THOUSANDS of fountain pens. Giving them new life and new purpose for many collectors all over the world. He is also an Authorized Dealer for Pilot/Namiki. I found Greg through Instagram and in a short amount of time, I became a very active client! I love supporting small businesses and Greg's little company is no different. I am always happy to help a friend out whenever I can!
Down below are links to pens Greg has for sale on his site. All Pilot/Namiki are backed by their full factory warranties. Once again, if you use my code "Craig" you will get 10% OFF your purchase site-wide! Please let me know if you have any questions and thanks for watching the video!

One maintenance tip: wipe the leftover ink with a microfiber cloth instead of papertowel (paper is always a mesh, it can scratch that precious nib!). Beautiful fountain pen btw and a nice review! Congratulations on your NFPD!

Thanks for the info! I will use a microfiber cloth from now on! 😃

The Yukari Royale in Vermillion is a grail pen for me. I have a Namiki Nippon Art now and the feeling of the urushi is so wonderful in the hand.

It feels so different from resin and I love it! I hope you get your grail someday!

What a beauty! Often, people pick the red one. However, this black is a stunning color. In fact, I too love black pens. They look classy. Congrats, Craig!
Would love to see the medium nib comparisons. 😊

Excellent video. Just one remark: I don't know why you Americans are accustomed to saying that resin was plastic. IT IS NOT. Plastic is a product of the petrochemical industry is much, much cheaper than resin, and if we exclude some special kinds of plastic, made for the space industry, it is much less durable than resin, even more, there are many kinds of natural resin, they come out of trees the same as natural rubber.

Huh, good to know! Thanks for the helpful info in differentiating the two!

    • @maximilianschwab9668

@@CraigRoccanova There is just one resin - which is very cheap - that comes from petroleum, polystyrene, which is a polymer, the same as the DNA is also a polymer, and of course, that is plastic, but generally speaking, the resins used to make good pens are of better quality and they have a different molecular structure.
      Have a nice week!

Google definition of resin: It is a composite blend that is rotationally molded into strong products that are affordable, lightweight, and can imitate the look of other materials like stone or granite. While resin is a plastic, it is not the plastic found in most products - for instance the thin plastic used to make a bag.

@@wittwittwer1043 Google is a search machine, the definitions are on websites ...
So this is a definition: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Resin

@@wittwittwer1043 BTW you could call almost anything made out of a synthetic material "plastic". Is it also an accurate and exact definition? No, it is NOT.
