Hi I'm Craig! I love collecting Fountain Pens! From antique Waterman's Ideal pens and ephemera that are over 100 years old, to modern user pens, and Japanese Maki-e pieces that are literal works of art! My KOP railroads on down strokes even with slightest pressure and recently inked. Can this be fixed? My impression is that the nib plate is way too thin and easily looses contact with the feeder. I'm forced to use with very slight pressure, which is not practical for fast writing. Any advice other than selling it?

It is a very pretty pen, but I think what makes it really interesting is just how old it is. I have several books that are over a hundred years old, and they hold up far better than modern printings, but I have never handled an old pen before. I wonder how well they fare compared to newer ones. The nib looked like it moved beautifully and cleanly across the paper.

Why are they no longer made? No new nib can flex right.
The Great Depression had something to do with it. This pen was made from 1927-1929. Modern pens can flex but these nibs were forged not rolled. They have a nice bounce back!
